Warhammer: In the Name of the Emperor

Chapter 578 Radar Station (This Is From the Previous Chapter)

The Empire has many radar stations far away from the main planets and in distant galaxies. This is one of them, the Solres Checkpoint, located on the edge of the Storm Rain Galaxy, where there are many famous planets, such as Alicia, Thor and Armageddon.

But this has nothing to do with this checkpoint. It is only in a desolate rift on a desolate planet, surrounded by abyssal canyons and towering stone mountains, without even plants.

This is not a place where life can survive, but there is a radar station team of the Human Empire stationed here, stationed here for years, year after year, doing boring work.

On the platform outside the radar station, the field soldier picked up the telescope and looked at the sky, again and again without any change. He observed the starry sky, and meteor showers slid across the sky.

"Attention, there is a meteor shower."

"Emperor, what is there to report from Nur?"

The site member in the checkpoint complained, he sat on the chair, stood up and moved to another table with boredom, where another site member and a blind Star Rainer were sitting.

They were playing cards, although they didn't know how the blind Star Rainer saw the cards.

"Guess what card I have now?" asked the person sitting opposite.

"Jack of Hearts?" answered the Star Rainer.

"Wrong, it's spades, how did you guess wrong again? Didn't you Star Rainers say you can read minds?"

"You can even see through the cards!" added the person who came to join in the fun, and the Star Rainer played a card, "I'm not that kind of great psychic, if I were, I wouldn't be sent to this place."

"That's right, if we were that powerful, we wouldn't be driven here to eat the northwest wind." The person playing cards said, and also added a card.

"Uh, shouldn't everyone be at their posts? Look at the radar screen." A very shy, young and the only member wearing a full uniform and a helmet said on the side.

The member who was joining in the fun rolled his eyes, turned around and approached a terminal casually, "Do you know what I saw? Nothing."

"Didn't they say there was a meteor shower? According to regulations, we should record it and report it."

"Emperor! No. 5, have you become stupid after studying in the military academy? What is our place called? Meteor Shower Galaxy!" The member in front of the terminal shouted loudly, "It's already called by a name, what's the fuss about seeing a meteor shower, it won't hit you on the head."

"And even if it hits, we have a shield." The card player said casually, and he and the Star Rainer had just gained an advantage at the card table, and said happily.

"Don't sit in front of that broken screen, we have nothing to do here."

"Really?"

The person who walked into the radar station asked coldly, and several people stood up immediately when they saw him.

"Everyone stand at attention! The sergeant is here!"

The four people in the station stood up straight, and the site manager wearing a breastplate walked in. He was an old soldier, his beard was a little gray, there was a scar on his face, and he walked a little unnaturally.

It is said that he was a combat hero and was assigned to this idle position after being injured, but there are also claims that he offended his superiors, so he was sent here, but he is a serious person.

"You think the work here is not important, right?" The sergeant came up and asked the one who spoke.

"No, there is no sergeant!" The member who spoke straightened up and responded loudly.

The sergeant nodded and walked in front of several people. "We are at the edge of the galaxy. Any enemy who wants to attack the nest must pass through us."

"And there will be troops from the Armageddon-Iron Legion coming over in the next few days. I don't know if they are passing by or have trouble to deal with, but I want everything here to be in order and welcome possible inspections."

"Do you understand?"

"Understood, Sergeant!"

"Then everyone return to their posts." The sergeant gave the order and walked away. The four people in the radar station also dispersed back to their positions. The young member observed the screen in front of him enthusiastically, while the person next to him muttered in a low voice. After taking a look, he quietly took out the beauty magazine photo and started reading it.

"Compared to looking at this white noise, this is better." He commented while looking at the girl in the book.

"Meteor shower hit." The soldier on duty outside reported.

"Received." The young man sitting in front of the terminal pressed the shield switch, and a layer of shield was immediately covered above the radar station. Meteor showers fell from the sky, some chasing into the valley, but some hitting the shield.

Suddenly, a bullet penetrated the shield and hit the platform directly. The soldier on duty was surprised. Just as he was about to report, he was killed by several tall figures that came out from the inside of the meteor.

A gunshot echoed outside.

"What's that sound?" the young man asked.

"The sound of a meteor hitting." The person who was looking at the photo said casually, leaning on the chair with his legs crossed. The young man also shut up, "How was the meteor shower hitting?"

He asked, but no one responded to him.

"Private Noor? Didn't you receive it?"

"Don't bother him."

The sound of the door opening came from below, and the sound of footsteps also echoed. The young man stood up and walked over wearing a helmet, "Why are you back? Your duty time is not over yet."

"It's so cold outside, don't torture him, look at this girl? She's so cool." The frivolous site member smiled and turned his head to look, and then saw that the young man's head was blown up and the whole person collapsed to the ground.

They were startled and stood up. A tall Ork rushed in, roaring at them with a gun in his hand. The sergeant appeared, picked up the gun and fired at the orc. With his other hand, he held a chainsaw sword and strode forward to stab the orc in the abdomen.

The alien cursed and retreated. Everyone in the site stood up, their faces full of panic.

"Get the gun! Star Rainer sends a signal to warn the orcs of invasion!" The sergeant shouted loudly, just like an order to the servitor, and immediately awakened the remaining two people who were stunned. They hurriedly took out guns from the gun cabinet.

"Who to send it to?" Star Rainer asked.

"Anyone, anyone who can receive our signal."

The sergeant leaned out and fired at the bottom with his gun. The other two members of the site with guns behind him also rushed over and fired at the orcs in the corridor at the exit.

These orcs looked very different. They didn't rush forward mindlessly like the common ones. Instead, they hid behind the bunkers and didn't fire randomly in front of them.

The leader, who had camouflage on his face and wore excellent tactical armor for orcs, gestured to the boy next to him, who grabbed a grenade and threw it up. The grenade bounced off the wall and hit the door.

"Get out of the way!" The sergeant yelled and rushed away, but the two people behind him reacted too slowly and were blown to pieces.

The orcs rushed in silently. The sergeant got up. He picked up his gun and broke the terminals around him. Then he threw away the gun and rushed towards the orcs with a chainsaw sword. The leader opened the chainsaw sword with an axe and then chopped the old sergeant to pieces.

The Star Rain sent out a tense and chaotic signal. He didn't know whether it was accurate or not, but he was killed afterwards. The orcs came up and chopped off his head.

The head of the Blind Star Rainer fell to the ground, and the orcs rushed into the radar station. The special warfare technician with red armor on his shoulders approached the terminal.

"Boss, they destroyed this place, and the security signal has been interrupted."

"Can it be restarted?" asked the leader.

"I don't understand these things."

The leader hummed and activated the orc-style headphones on his pointed ears, "What? They destroyed the transmitter. Big Bone Eye will soon find out that we are here."

"Not as long as we are fast enough." A deep, rich and terrifying voice said.

Outside the radar station, on the edge of the planet where it is located, a huge moon shadow appeared from the dark side of the galaxy, with the roar of orcs on its surface.

And below it, thousands of orcs were roaring with it.
