Chapter 116: Unfaithful to Wife
Four or five men were surrounding a large iron pot, something was cooking in the pot, and steam was rising.
The village chief went over and bowed, "Everyone, we are just passing by, and we plan to stop here tonight. If we disturb you, please forgive us."
A bald man glanced outside and saw that there were quite a few people. He hesitated for a moment and nodded, "Please do as you please, old man."
The hall was not small. Except for a headless Buddha statue in the middle, the rest was empty space. Everyone simply stepped down the threshold and drove all the mule carts in. The carts were placed in the corner, and the mules were unloaded to eat grass.
Then they went to the yard to pick up some dead leaves and branches to make a fire and cook.
There was a well in the yard, and water could be drawn from it. Everyone hurried to draw water.
Everyone was busy cooking when Gu Fei saw a few more people coming in at the door.
A young man, carrying a big bag, holding a two or three-year-old girl in his arms, and a young woman, who looked quite pretty, holding a four or five-year-old boy in her hands.
As soon as the few people came in, they saw a big pot of food cooked by the men, and the woman stared at the pot.
The young man pulled her, and the two found a place to sit down.
Chen's meal was not ready yet, but the food in the pots of the men here was cooked.
Each of them took a bowl and a big bamboo spoon to scoop it in.
The woman could see clearly that what was scooped out was pieces of meat, and the soup was lightly milky white.
The woman suddenly ran over and looked at the men pleadingly, "I haven't eaten a grain of rice for two days. Brothers, can you be kind and give me some food."
A man snorted in response to her, "We don't have enough food for ourselves, how can we give you anything."
The young man looked at his wife asking for food, with some shame and anger on his face, and more helplessness.
The woman was still begging, "Brother, please be kind, I don't want much, just give me a piece of bone."
The bald man suddenly smiled, "Not impossible."
"Young lady, why don't you follow me? How about I scoop you a bowl?"
The woman's face showed a struggling look.
The young man scolded, "You woman! Come here!"
Gu Fei saw that the man looked very angry, but his voice was not loud, and he didn't have much strength, probably because he was hungry.
The woman looked back at the two children, hesitated for a while, and quickly walked to the bald man, knelt down, lowered her head, and said meekly: "I am willing to follow you, just asking for a full meal every day."
The young man's eyes were red with anger, and he shouted, "Shameless, extremely shameless! You, you are not a good wife!"
The woman looked at him indifferently, "Can you survive if you are a good wife? You are a scholar, you can't carry anything on your shoulders or hands, and you can't even find food. If I follow you, I will starve to death sooner or later. I can't do anything about it."
The bald man laughed, took a bowl, and scooped a bowl of meat for the woman.
The woman took the bowl, didn't care about the heat, drank the soup in a few mouthfuls, and grabbed the meat with her hands to eat. It was really hard to describe the way she ate.
Gu Fei couldn't bear to watch it anymore, turned her head, and sat there sullenly.
Su Chen sat not far from her, glanced at the woman with a look of contempt and sneered.
Here, Chen stewed a large pot of wolf meat, and it took half an hour to cook it over high heat until it was tender.
The rice was cooked, and the Gu family members cleaned up and were about to eat when they heard the young man's voice, "Bitch, what are you going to do?"
