Chapter 2423: Grinding Moment

No matter how the Germans looked at it or whether they were willing, the cruel steel-grinding battle finally broke out in just a few seconds, instantly dragging the German troops at the forefront of the scorched earth into it and began to grind.

"Follow up! Destroy the fascists, charge!"

The mechanized infantry who had jumped off the infantry fighting vehicle at a suitable distance and switched to foot tracking were the first to meet the enemy. Even if an inevitable armored confrontation encounter was already in front of them, the task of clearing the close-range enemy infantry still had to be completed by them to open up an offensive path for their steel comrades and clear out the enemy infantry holding deadly anti-tank weapons.

The German positions that had been plowed by the army-level artillery preparations had already been shattered, and various earthwork bunkers and fortifications were blown beyond recognition.

Dead German sticks were everywhere, and broken limbs and large or small pieces of meat were everywhere in this ghost place, and there was no limit on the supply.

The German corpses that were torn apart by the artillery fire and the high-speed shrapnel were counted in "blocks", so many that they could almost trip people.

But even so, the Red Army soldiers who jumped into the position still had to concentrate and stay alert to fight, because those German sticks who were not dead yet were like stones in the pit - smelly and hard, and they were still trying their best to pick up any weapons they could find at hand and fight to the death.

"Machine guns clear the way! Don't stop, cover the machine gunners and rush forward! Grenades are ready!"

Although it has not been in service for a long time, it is still a new gun.

But those experienced mechanized infantrymen of the leadership division found in actual combat that this design change was so large that it made people doubt whether it would be as good-looking and useless as the fancy new equipment of the Germans, with many faults, but the actual results soon proved in battle that the soldiers' worries were completely unnecessary.

Master Degtyarev designed the most sophisticated light machine gun for the soldiers of the motherland, just as Kalashnikov designed the epoch-making AK44 assault rifle for the soldiers of the motherland.

This new machine gun with a 100-round non-disintegrating chain is really fucking easy to use! It is simply an invincible assault weapon during the charge.

No longer have to worry about the bad drawbacks of the previous generation DP light machine gun, which is inconvenient to hold and has an unreasonable configuration. The pleasure of rushing forward with a machine gun with a 100-round capacity and shooting at anyone you see is simply indescribable.

The continuous firepower, which is more than three times the capacity of the AK bullet, has become the best suppression weapon. Any place that is judged to be likely to hide German sticks will be instantly subjected to a storm of fire.

Any German soldier who is not crazy enough to be eager to die will be beaten to the point of being unable to raise his head under this fire suppression. The whistling sound of the rain of bullets shooting at his head is simply the grin of death.

Large-capacity machine guns led the way, and assault rifles followed up. The efficiency of trench clearing projects under the blessing of fully automatic firepower has been unprecedentedly enhanced.

Any German soldiers who flashed out between trenches or positions without effective cover to try to block would basically be instantly shot into sieves by this violent mobile fully automatic firepower.

Most of the Russians like to shoot from the waist. The machine gun firepower that does not have time to make precise aiming in close combat may be inaccurate, but who told you that they need to use precise shooting to kill the Nazis?

There are only two states: continuous firing and preparing for continuous firing. Those Germans who ran around in the trenches, moved repeatedly between the ruined positions to find favorable positions, and tried to block the enemy from any angle and any favorable position soon found out sadly.

The firepower in the hands of those Russians will not reason with you. They are not even equipped with a few submachine guns. The Russians who rushed to the front are almost all holding fully automatic firearms that fire intermediate power rifle bullets.

Let alone finding an opportunity to rush out and shoot at them, if your hiding place might be exposed or guessed by them, then you'd better pray that the bunker protecting you is thick enough to withstand this intermediate-power rifle bullet with much greater kinetic energy and penetration than submachine gun bullets, and the firing rate is still as fast as a storm.

Otherwise, being shot into a sieve by penetrating fire and then knocked down in a pool of blood is the only possible outcome, there will be no other possibility.

The urgency of these Russians to advance quickly is so obvious that they almost don't care about any ammunition consumption that will be regarded as exaggerated. They rush and fight all the way, and the automatic firearms don't stop to open the way and charge forward. Clear any flesh-and-blood enemies in front of them, and only stop reluctantly when they encounter a target that they can't deal with temporarily.

But don't think that their temporary stop is good news. It doesn't mean that they are helpless, but that they are preparing to summon more destructive firepower to send the enemies in front of them to heaven.

A German bunker standing behind a low earth slope, in an extremely tricky position, not only blocked the direct shooting field of view, but also avoided most of the parabolic artillery fire, blocking the soldiers' way forward. And in its specially designed and adjusted limited shooting field of view, the machine gun firepower firmly blocked the entire trench, making it airtight.

Jumping out of the trench would be directly fired by German firepower from other directions. There was no effective cover or concealment at all, which was obviously not a good idea.

It is not a solution to continue to charge forward along the trench in front of us. As long as the Germans do not interrupt their firepower, they can't charge through the machine gun blockade line even if they lose 100 lives in this trench with limited space and no formation.

It seems that they have encountered a problem that ordinary infantry cannot solve, but it is another matter for the mechanized infantry of the leader division.

There are special ways to deal with such targets. The leading squad leader who knows how to serve such stubborn Germans immediately gave an order.

"Throw smoke bombs! German bunkers in front, hurry!"

There is no need to worry about being blocked by bunkers and affecting the firepower. The friendly comrades who are responsible for firepower support have their own ways.

The smoke bomb was thrown out with a standard parabolic trajectory, and it happened to fall into the gap between the German bunker and the earthen bunker. It did not directly cover the trench and did not have any effect of blocking the view.

For the time being, several German soldiers who were unaware that smoking was taking place outside the bunker were still desperately serving two MG42s, one was replacing the barrel and loading bullets, and the other was continuously firing suppressive fire at the possible hiding places of the enemy, completely unaware that the danger of destruction was already approaching following the smoke.
