Chapter 2302 Tiger VI Type C

It was quite a coincidence that the 105mm split ammunition saved the German tank commanders who commanded this new Tiger King a big trouble: choosing the right type of ammunition to pre-load the loader. Google search reading

Unlike the semi-automatic loader of the 88 gun, the semi-automatic loader of the new 105 gun works like this.

You only need to pre-load 6 propellant cartridges into the semi-automatic loader in advance. German engineers have rarely been humane, designing the propellant cartridges of high-explosive shells and armor-piercing shells to the same specifications, instead of some kind of crappy, armor-piercing shells have special propellant cartridges for armor-piercing shells, and high-explosive shells have special propellant cartridges for high-explosive shells.

The biggest benefit of the uniform specification of pre-loaded propellant cartridges is that when loading in battle, you only need to select the appropriate projectile you want, and then place it on the loading slide at the rear end of the breech block, and then push the feed handle of the rear semi-automatic loader, and manually push the propellant cartridges and projectiles into the chamber.

In other words, the German tank commanders commanding the 105 Tiger King can freely change the type of ammunition in battle. They only need to let the loader put the projectile of the type of shell they want to fire on the slide rail.

The 6-round loader can send 6 high-explosive projectiles out of the barrel, or send 6 armor-piercing shells out of the barrel, or mix and fire the two types of shells. You can do whatever you want, as long as it does not exceed

As for if the enemy is not completely eliminated after 6 shots and still needs to fight, the situation is a little tricky.

The semi-automatic loader needs to be kept in the reset standby state, and then the breech block is manually opened to load the cartridge and projectile. This is the biggest reason why the 105 Tiger King is specially set up with two main and deputy loaders.

When necessary, one person is responsible for loading the projectile and the other is responsible for loading the cartridge. The two people work together without getting tired, and the combat rate of fire under manual loading can still be maintained at a relatively satisfactory level. It is not the case that once the shells in the loader are used up, the loading state will be long enough to span centuries. If that is the case, it will be too bad and completely unacceptable.

So the extra loader is not added to the crew for the purpose of operating the loader. Although one person is responsible for operating the loader and the other is responsible for loading the projectiles, it will indeed increase the efficiency of loading and shorten the loading time to a certain extent.

But at best, it can only be regarded as a consideration for manual loading. One of the additional benefits brought by adding a second loader is like a gift from the merchant when you buy a valuable item in a shopping mall. The core reason for adding a second loader is still for manual loading.

After all, the loader capacity of only 6 rounds is really pitiful. If you encounter a slightly higher-intensity battle, the situation of insufficient shells will definitely occur. It is necessary to consider and prepare for this in advance. The Germans are not stupid enough to not even consider this situation.

The new 105mm main gun system, the revolver semi-automatic loader, the double loaders, and the SLA 16 18-cylinder diesel engine with a maximum output of 750 horsepower.

All these reliable or problematic gadgets were piled together to create the "ultimate Tiger King" that was drastically upgraded on the original basis.

Because of the many improvements, it can be regarded as a new tank, so in the Germans' own equipment naming, this thing was even given a new name: Tiger Type 6 C, which is a perfect inheritance of the previous Tiger Type 6 and Tiger Type 6 B, and is also the third tank member in the entire "Tiger" family.

As the latest experimental equipment, the production of Tiger Type C is not large. Not only is the newly opened production work in the stage of capacity climbing, but it is also continuously damaged and harassed by the Allied forces' daily strategic bombing. As a result, the entire production capacity dropped sharply and was greatly affected, so only a small part of the Tiger Cs were actually delivered to the troops and put into service and used on the battlefield.

Not many German troops had even seen this thing or even knew of its existence, let alone the British and American Allied forces as opponents.

Wittmann and his 101st Heavy Panzer Battalion of the Waffen SS had just received this new vehicle as a supplement.

Except that the battalion commander who was not with Wittmann, but led another team and fought in another direction not far away, also replaced this new Tiger King. The only other Tiger C in the battalion was in Wittmann's hands, which was the command vehicle of the deputy battalion commander.

The subsequent impact of the Stauffenberg incident caused the differences and gaps between the shampooers and the Wehrmacht to grow, and they became less and less trusting of each other.

Because of this, the mustachioed man who still held the power of the Reich's head of state began to allocate more and more resources of new and advanced war weapons to his private armed forces, the Waffen SS. Even many resources that should have been allocated to the elite troops of the Wehrmacht were forcibly allocated to the elite troops of the Waffen SS and taken away halfway.

Don't ask, if you ask, it must be the order of the head of state, or the equipment allocation document issued by Himmler, the owner of the chicken farm, in accordance with the order of the head of state. It is written clearly in black and white, and it is also signed and stamped. As long as you still abide by the current order of Germany, you have no choice but to recognize it.

The SS's rude and unreasonable equipment snatching behavior really angered many Wehrmacht commanders who were desperately short of equipment and waiting for replenishment.

If your SS snatched away the equipment, what should our Wehrmacht do? You say that the Western Front needs good equipment to deal with the Americans and the British, so what? We don't need good equipment to deal with the Russians on the Eastern Front? How about we switch, you take this pile of junk to the Eastern Front to fight the Russians, and I take the new equipment to the Western Front to play with the Americans and the British, how about that?

No matter how much resentment and dissatisfaction there are, facing the "hell-level reality" of the rice being cooked, the equipment has been snatched away, and the external environment is still facing a powerful enemy and a large army. These Wehrmacht commanders who were once so angry that they jumped up and down could only admit defeat in the end, find ways to solve the problem themselves, and continue to fight the Russians.

Wittmann did not know that there were so many complicated stories behind his new car. Wittmann just felt that this new car was relatively in line with his expectations, especially in terms of upgraded mobility and firepower, which were satisfactory. This was enough.
