Chapter 246 Moaning Myrtle

Myrtle Warren's high-pitched, piercing voice echoed in the girls' bathroom, and she seemed to become angrier (sader) as more sewage spilled out of the stall.

Myrtle disliked Ada very much, which was just a euphemism, even if the previous sentence was disgusting, it would be an understatement.

Except for the reason why Ada once snatched the bathroom, the two girls are both from the Muggle world, but their lives in school are very different.

After entering Hogwarts, Myrtle was sorted into Ravenclaw. Myrtle didn't make a single friend here, not even anyone she could confide in. Instead, he is often ridiculed and bullied by others because of his short and fat figure, ugly glasses, and acne on his face. Perhaps he is also isolated and bullied.

On Myrtle's last day, she was laughed at by Olive Humbey, who thought she was ridiculous for wearing glasses. It was precisely because of Hong Bei's ridicule that Myrtle hid in the bathroom alone and her life was frozen early.

For fifty years, Myrtle's ghost has remained in the bathroom. Even though she has become a ghost, she still has not escaped the fate of being bullied. Peeves was always playing tricks on her, and the students didn't like her.

It seemed like nothing had changed, the only thing that had changed was that she no longer had the right to live.

Contrary to Myrtle, Ada is smart, beautiful, met the twins when she first came to school, and has several good friends to keep her company. She was the only one who bullied others in school, no one dared to bully her.

This year, Ada also wore glasses, but no one laughed at her or insulted her because of her glasses. Instead, the sharpness in her eyes was reduced, making her more popular with her classmates.

The ordinary Myrtle Warren meets Ada who is completely different from her. The contrast is obvious and the contrast is strong. Jealousy, Myrtle is jealous of everything Ada has and what she does not have; resentment, Myrtle resents herself for being weak and vulnerable, and resents her own powerlessness.

"Myrtle, I'm just here to ask some questions. I won't compete with you for the bathroom." Ada knocked on the door of the cubicle again and added, "I will leave after asking."

After hearing that Ada was not here to grab territory, Myrtle calmed down a lot and did not continue to yell at Ada to get out. It's just that she didn't respond to Ada's words, but used silence to silently drive her away.

"I just want to know what you encountered during your lifetime." Ada tried to make her tone less harsh, "This is very important to me."

Ada's gentle words of entreaty failed to elicit an answer from Myrtle. After all, being asked about the cause of death was not a comfortable thing.

Myrtle's tone was a bit bitter as she said, "You want to know the cause of my death, right?"

"Uh... yes, I want to know why senior sister died, and why... she chose to stay here." Ada said. She didn't expect Myrtle to be so direct. She was already ready for some hard work.

"Everyone wants to know the cause of Moaning Myrtle's death, because there was nothing worth talking about in her short life. If you know the cause of her death, you can laugh at her and insult her as much as you want! She is just a woman who only hides in the bathroom The four-eyed dog crying secretly in the room!" Myrtle said harshly, and she also rushed out of the compartment and floated in front of Ada.

After you have a serious illness, you may not be willing to recall the suffering you suffered during your illness, let alone let the ghost talk about your death.

This is by no means a pleasant experience, and is as sad for the ghost as it is for the listener. For Myrtle, this is even more true, because this is the most important and interesting topic in her short life.

"I'm sorry to mention your sadness, but this is really important." Ada said, "I am investigating matters related to the secret room, and your death is the most critical part of it."

The milky-white, translucent Myrtle slowly rose up, her body floating over the bathroom, and she said: "I don't know what the secret room is, let alone what you are talking about. Myrtle is just Myrtle, so Myrtle who makes people laugh.”

When you are alive, no one cares about you, no one cares about you, and all you get is ridicule and insult. After her death, people began to care about Myrtle, but what people cared about was the cause of her death. It was really a sad life.

The door to the girls' bathroom was opened again, and Dumbledore walked in. He looked at the floating Myrtle, and his blue eyes behind the half-moon glasses were filled with sadness.

"Myrtle, please give us some help you can," Dumbledore said. "Let us join hands to end this daunting situation!"

Seeing Dumbledore walking in, Myrtle stopped wandering. She tilted her head and looked at the principal, seeming to be thinking about something.

After a while, Myrtle spoke slowly, and she said: "It was really terrible. It happened here, and I died in this bathroom."

Fifty years ago, the then principal Armando Dippet asked Olive Humbe to search for the missing Myrtle. Eventually, Humbey discovered Myrtle's body in the bathroom.

The translucent Myrtle's expression became very painful, and she continued: "That day, Olive Humbe laughed at me for wearing glasses like a four-eyed dog, so I hid here. I locked the door and cried inside, Suddenly I heard someone come in. They were saying funny things. I thought it must be in another language. But what annoyed me the most was that I heard a boy's voice talking. So I opened the door and yelled at him to go away Come on, go to your own boys’ bathroom!”

Dumbledore and Ada glanced at each other. They were already sure that the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets was hidden in the girls' bathroom.

"Then..." said Myrtle, "then I died."

"What did you see?" Ada continued, needing more details now.

Myrtle lowered her voice. Death brought her fearful feelings. She said: "I didn't see anything clearly. I just remember seeing a pair of scary big yellow eyes. My whole body seemed to be grabbed, and then I floated away and became what I am now."

The basilisk's eyes are yellow, and it is obvious that Myrtle's death was caused by the basilisk. She looked directly into the basilisk's huge yellow eyes, so instead of turning to stone like Colin Creevey and Justin Finch-Fletchley, she died.

It's just not clear that Myrtle died accidentally because of seeing the Slytherin heir and the basilisk. Or was it the Slytherin heir who planned a murder against her.

The truth was right in front of her, and Ada's tone became a little excited, and she asked again: "Where did you see those eyes?"

Myrtle thought for a moment, then pointed to the pool, and she answered, "That's almost there."

Dumbledore and Ada walked to the pool. This pool looked so ordinary that it was difficult to associate it with the Chamber of Secrets.

Dumbledore checked the pool up and down, inside and out. Finally, Dumbledore's eyes rested on a faucet. A lifelike little snake is engraved on the side of this copper faucet.

The symbol of Slytherin is the snake!

But no matter what method Dumbledore used, the faucet and the little snake were indifferent. He even cut open his palm and smeared his blood on the faucet, but there was still no change in the bathroom.

The secret room was hidden under this ordinary pool, but they were blocked from the door by this small faucet.

"Maybe it's because we are not the heirs of Slytherin, so even if we find the secret room, we can't get in." Ada touched her earlobe and said, "Maybe we need a Parseltongue."

Dumbledore nodded, and he agreed with Ada's view. He said: "I think we may need Harry's help. He is the only Parseltongue I can think of."

Since he could not enter the Chamber of Secrets now, Dumbledore decided to think long term, so he and Ada left the girls' bathroom together.

As soon as the two walked out of the bathroom, Myrtle chased them out. She cried and asked: "Professor, will you come back again? Can I still stay here?"

"We meet often, don't we?" Dumbledore said kindly. "Hogwarts will always be the home of students, and you will always be my student. However, I suggest that you hang out more often instead of always Staying here will hurt your feelings."
