Chapter 1179 Old Los Angeles Historic District!
Even so, Zhao Feng and his party were quite happy shopping here!
Especially some Mexican utensils like colorful masks, silverware, and some other artworks!
Zhao Feng prefers silverware from Mexico!
Although these silverware are only current handicrafts, the mysterious and peculiar style of Mexico is quite fun to watch!
But Mexicans play really big!
At the booth, Zhao Feng also saw many silver skulls of different sizes and styles!
This thing is too underworld!
Zhao Feng respectfully thanked Bumin!
Zhao Feng made a selection and let the girls, including Angelina and Valentin, choose some small items for a few years!
It's a little gift for them!
Zhao Feng finally chose a silver ring. There was nothing special about this ring, but a piece of blue aberde was inlaid on it.
Zhao Feng thought it was good, so he stayed!
The price is not expensive, about $40!
Ye Xiner, Yang Zixin and the others have also chosen some small items one after another!
When Zhao Feng settled the bill, he actually paid $600, and everyone's choice was not expensive, so it was acceptable!
Another reason why the Olvera neighborhood is so popular is because of some of the great restaurants on the street!
As we all know, there is no catering system in the United States. Of course, because this place was originally a place where criminals were exiled in England and Gaul, the main catering system is Western food!
But compared to Mexican food, Western food is a bit eclipsed!
Ye Xiner was the first to shout that she was a little tired!
Zhao Feng also chose a cafe called La Golondrina Mexican Cafe and walked in with them!
In fact, Zhao Feng also made a mistake!
Although the name of this restaurant is a cafe, it is actually a restaurant!
Plus, this La Golondrina Cafe is the oldest restaurant on the street.
The restaurant opened in 1924 and is housed in the oldest surviving brick building in Los Angeles; House, built in the 1850s.
The authentic and delicious Mexican food here will inherit the classics and combine them with the popular, which has always been sought after.
Zhao Feng and his party only ordered some desserts and drinks, but even so, smelling the aroma of a certain dish on the table next to him, Zhao Feng couldn't help ordering a Mexican mutton soup!
But unexpectedly, this dish and other desserts were delivered together!
This dish is a slow stew of steamed lamb in a soup with spices and chili sauce.
The fresh aroma of mutton is stimulated by various spices, and it is brought into full play! Especially the glass of margarita that Zhao Feng chose, paired with this mutton soup, it was absolutely amazing!
Ye Xiner and the others also drank a bowl each. Although the weather was nice today, after walking around outdoors for so long, drinking a bowl of mutton soup instantly warmed their bodies!
When the meal is over, get out of the Ovira neighborhood!
Everyone went forward!
. . . . . .
The historic district of Old Town Los Angeles can be so lively, obviously because there are many places to play in the historic district, and they are all quite interesting!
After coming out of the Olvera block, Zhao Feng and his party saw a very conspicuous title next to the front steps!
【Tropical American murals】
This América Tropical mural in Historic Los Angeles is the only public mural in the United States created on the original site by Mexican painter David Alfaro Siqueiros.
In the fresco, a Mexican Indian is crucified with a condor above him, and two shooters aim their guns at the eagle. The 18-by-18-foot work has been controversial since its completion in 1932, and was even covered up for the first 10 years. The mural was restored in 1988 by the Getty Conservation Institute in partnership with the Los Angeles Historic District, and since October 2012 it has been displayed to the public free of charge, along with a new viewing platform and interpretive center.
For this mural, Zhao Feng and the others actually just punched in and took a photo!
As for the meaning contained in it!
Zhao Feng felt that there was no need to care!
Before Zhao Feng and Ye Xiner went to La Golondrina Mexican Cafe, the restaurant was built in a unique brick house!
And the next place called Avila Mud Brick House is also a brick house!
This site remains on its original site; Adobe is the oldest residence in Los Angeles and has been designated California Historic Landmark #145.
The house was built in 1818 by ; José ; and has served as a home for his family members and descendants ever since.
It also served as a military command in the late 1840s. Today, Adobe's interior is imprinted with 1840s California lifestyle. Dark wood tables, four-poster beds, candelabra and delicate rugs create a 19th-century vibe.
After taking pictures, everyone walked past the brick house and headed for the next goal!
The next location is the Italian American Museum in Los Angeles not far away.
Opened in 2016, the Italian-American Museum of Los Angeles (full name) is located in the historic Italian Hall (Italian Hall). Completed in 1908, the building was originally a meeting place for the Italian community.
Today, the building is the oldest surviving structure in the Italian enclave of Los Angeles and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. ; showcases the experiences, stories, and inextricable ties to Los Angeles of Italian-Americans in Southern California.
This place is nothing special compared to the previous one!
Zhao Feng and his group simply walked around and left!
Continue along the line, and soon everyone sees a church in front!
This church looks much inferior to those seen in Europe and Macau!
Not as grand, but still one of the historic landmarks of Los Angeles!
It's a pity that this La; Church didn't open the door!
However, there is a detailed introduction on the sign on the side!
This place is located in the historic district of La Plaza; the church was built on August 18, 1814, formerly known as La Iglesia de Nuestra Senora La Reina de Los Angeles, and the building was completed and put into use on December 8, 1822.
In 1861, a church called La Iglesia de Nuestra de Senora de los Angeles ("Church of the Virgin Mary") was rebuilt using materials from the original church. The church was one of the first three designated Historic and Cultural Monuments by the City of Los Angeles and has been designated a California Historic Landmark.
Look, almost all the buildings are less than 300 years old. Sure enough, there is a saying that goes well: in the face of history, the United States is a younger brother!
The church is not open, so Zhao Feng and the others are naturally not good at taking pictures and punching in!
So keep going down the street!
Honestly, this Old LA Historic District is pretty authentic!
Through these buildings, it is like seeing what this place looked like two hundred years ago! This is also the reason why Zhao Feng has to take pictures and punch cards everywhere!
