Let me talk about some of the problems I have been facing and my thoughts on writing books!
Some people have been asking why I should not write books about creation and the creator of the oriental type. I must write this type. In fact, the author has tried it, but finally gave up, because the core of this type of book is the concept of the only God, and our culture does not have this concept at all. Here, God must be useful to me before he is qualified to stay in the temple.
What kind of creator and supreme god, can he bless me to get rich, can he bless me to have a long offspring? He doesn't give me anything, and I still have to believe in him? If I give him incense and offerings and he doesn't show up for three days, I will whip him with a whip. If he doesn't show up for five days, I will pull a cannon over and blow up his temple.
So even if I write about this kind of oriental theme, the most suitable thing is to write about man conquering nature, expressing themes like Dayu controlling floods, Kuafu chasing the sun, and Jingwei filling the sea. We solve our own problems by ourselves, and don't ask for gods or believe in fate.
So it's weird to write about the unique god with our cultural theme. As readers, we can put ourselves in the protagonist's perspective and experience the unique god's freedom of doing whatever he wants, but we don't believe in it at all.
So I can be a god, but I can't believe in God, unless he blesses me to get rich.
Let me talk about the idea and source of this book.
The idea of Yin Shen's ability originally came from time perception syndrome. The symptom is that the perception of time will be confused. Some people will feel that time slows down, and some people will feel that time speeds up. When the attack occurs, the speed of time in the world in the eyes of ordinary people is normal. People with this symptom either feel that everything around them slows down, their own movements slow down, or they feel that everything around them, as well as their heartbeats and movements, become very fast. Of course, it is different from what everyone imagines as bullet time, because this is just a confusion of perception. You will not really speed up, and other people and things around you will not really slow down.
But this strange feeling that seems to be free from the constraints of time is definitely different from the ordinary perspective, so there is the dialogue in the first chapter, and the setting of Yin Shen's ability.
Talk about the idea of writing a book.
The first era is basically from the perspective of the Creator. When I wrote it, there was nothing core to express. So you can see that the writing style and routines are the three most handy axes I used to use. Problems arise, pressure is applied, and then the protagonist comes out or the power he represents solves it with supreme power. I am very familiar with it. The sense of satisfaction is generally very strong and straightforward, but the routines are repeated over and over again.
The second era is from the perspective of the gods. At this time, there are some things I want to express. The core of this story is the disputes and devout beliefs of the gods. However, one problem with the writing of group portraits is that the main lines are all scattered. My three axes and one trick are about to be eliminated by the times, so I designed two main lines to connect the whole story. One is the royal bloodline and faith, and the other is the pursuit of the Temple of Truth and the grievances. The whole story is basically along these two lines, and finally ends with the end of the oath and the civilization heading towards the starry sky.
When the third era was first written, it was mentioned in the chapter that a story from a mortal's perspective would be written. The core theme was fate and the caged bird, but the core writing methods of the previous two eras could not be used. Everything had to be rewritten. A long time ago, I bought a set of tarot cards and found that tarot cards were actually a person's life journey when I was playing around. I suddenly had an idea and wrote it according to this. The protagonist started his life with the Fool card, the Magician card and the Priestess card allowed him to gain strength and listen to his own voice, the Queen card and the Emperor card represented that he had a family, a tribe and established order, the Pope card represented the beginning of the protagonist's faith and conveyed his own values and ideas, the Lovers card stage began to have a companion, the chariot, the power, the hermit, the wheel of fate, etc. Finally, the mortal walked all the way to the Judgment card and the World card. The Judgment card represented that he began to find himself and face himself and all the past. The World card represented the end, a new beginning and the eternal cycle of life, and the wheel never stopped turning. At this point, a complete set of structures was basically completed.
This is the general idea of the whole book, the core theme expressed, three eras, three perspectives and three different writing methods, and the main line that runs through the whole book is the departure of Yin Shen from the universe and his return to the universe.
I might write about the setting and story of the power of dreams in the future, but I have written from the perspective of the creator, the perspective of the gods, and the perspective of mortals, and then it is basically repeated. I will wait until I find a good entry point or learn something new, which is probably a long time later. It is difficult to break through the same subject matter, and it is even more difficult to write something different.
