The Amber Sword

Act 9 The Battle of the Corpse Witch

Lesser corpses are good at two spells, Dark Veil and Corruption. Both spells are black magic with the element 'evil'.

In the game, black magic is brought to the earth by the Miner people. The Miner are servants of the dragon of darkness, and they lived on the permafrost plateau north of Cruz during the chaotic years before the beginning of the First Age.

Miner shamans are good at using psychic and black magic, later these two kinds of spells and all offensive spells other than elemental, natural, and divine factions are collectively referred to as black magic.

After the Holy War, Gilt, Lord of Fire, drove these dark inhabitants to the cold east, and it is said that they have never been seen again.

But the Miner people must exist. In the Black Code, the dark lords who were exiled to Madara learned the inheritance of black magic from the people of these demons.

However, the dark curtain is called black magic actually has some misnomers, because it is an auxiliary stealth spell, this spell can just cover the whereabouts of a small group of skeleton soldiers.

Of course, this is not completely invisible, disappearing. You can imagine a blindfold that blends into a dark background, yes, it doesn't cover up sounds, smells, or anything other than sight, and it's limited to a certain distance.

But in the dark, this spell became the best cover for Madara's undead army, which was the main reason why Madara's army often chose to act at night.

As for the corruption technique, Freya and others had seen this terrible black magic on Jonson once before.

This is a vicious attack spell, and it is also the main attack method of the corpse witch. It relies on negative power to erode the enemy. When the enemy's negative emotions are more serious and the willpower is weaker, the damage of the spell will increase accordingly.

until death.

This spell works in the same way as most black magic, by magnifying negative forces to achieve destructive power.

Mastering mysterious black magic and commanding skeleton soldiers without the ability to think—stronger and more cunning by nature, the corpse seems like an invincible foe.

But Sophie also knew a secret, the corpse witch does not actually have the ability to cast spells. Their true power comes from the Bone Staff in their hands, a powerful magical item unique to each corpse that transforms back into an ordinary stick once removed.

Knowing this, then you understand how the tactics around it should unfold.

With the fall of another skeleton soldier, with Sophie's reminder, Freya and Essen, who had the strongest sword skills in the militia, entangled the corpse witch who was preparing the spell.

"Attack its hand, the black magic is not as mysterious as you think," Sophie pointed out the weakness of the undead monster later: "Did you see its gestures, prevent it from completing the spell, and take its bone staff... …”

The corpse witch suddenly raised its head and looked at Sophie, a phosphorous green fire flickered with resentment. Sophie choked, her throat went dry, and he knew that the other party was eyeing him - but our protagonist calmed down immediately, it was impossible for this walking corpse to bypass the militia and attack him.

But being stared at by a lifeless, cold monster is not a comfortable thing after all, Sophie had to stop and wait for Freya and Essen's attacks to have an effect.

The corpse witch smiled grimly, shook the bone staff, and the darkness around it swayed like ripples and drowned it. When Essen's long sword stabbed like a piece of snow, but only stabbed a hole, the original location of the undead monster became empty.

"Huh?" The young man was slightly taken aback.

Sophie's expression didn't change, he was all too familiar with the tricks of these guys: "Essen, on your left!"

Essen didn't react for a while.

But Freya, who was catching up from behind, had already slashed straight with her sword, and the sword drew a straight silver line in the dim environment.

He was about to reach the location Sophie pointed, but before that, the corpse witch had stumbled back.

Everyone saw the shadow that receded like water.

"Human, who are you! You are not some kind of militia!" A sharp voice burst out from the shadows, and the corpse witch looked a little exasperated.

Indeed, the militias could not have known that much, and some of what Sophie said was known only among sorcerers, even in Madara.

But Sophie remained silent, and Freya's second sword followed. The green light flashed in the corpse witch's eye sockets, and it resentfully raised the bone staff to poke away the girl's sword. The corpse witch has a power of 1.7 energy levels, and Freya must not be higher than Brando's power.

The ponytail girl's attack was easily steered aside, she rushed forward several steps before stopping, and immediately subconsciously covered her left shoulder, frowning slightly.

The previous arrow wound seems to have cracked again——

"Eldest sister, let Macmi come, your injury..." Seeing this scene, Essen couldn't help shouting while parrying the corpse witch's attack.

Macmi and Little Phoenix caught up from behind.

"Little Phoenix, stand back for me!" But Freya slashed her sword and stopped in front of the hairy brat, and ordered sharply.

"But I'm also a militia!" the boy shouted in disbelief.

"Back off, do you hear—!"

Little Finnis blushed with anger, but even so, he didn't dare to disobey Freya's orders. Among these young people, Freya has always been the leader. The girl is kind-hearted and has her own perseverance. In fact, everyone is convinced of such a captain.

And Sophie shook her head from behind, the battlefield is not a place for disputes. However, the persistence of the ponytail girl aroused his goodwill. Girls like this were rare in his world.

"Come on together, the four of you," he said from behind.

"Mr. Brando, you—!" Freya took a breath and couldn't help but look back. The young man lying on the rock—Roman was still standing beside him, looking at this innocently. On the other hand, he blinked at himself.

This dead girl has surrendered so quickly!

She couldn't hold back her anger.

"The corpse witch is a difficult enemy, and the four of you can just cover each other." Sophie replied solemnly.

"But little Phoenix..."

"He's also a militiaman."

Freya bit her lip. She looked back and saw that Macmi and Essen had already retreated under the attack of the corpse witch. If the undead monster was given a chance to cast spells, I am afraid that the team would be reduced again.

That's not what she can afford.

Thinking of this, she only nodded: "Okay."

"Long live! Brando, you are amazing!" Little Phoenix shouted, and immediately drew his sword. But Freya grabbed his collar from behind, pulled it back and commanded solemnly, "Follow me, don't leave my cover, understand—"

"Oh..." a disappointed voice.

After Freya and Little Phoenix joined the battle, the situation reversed immediately. She and Essen were originally the outstanding swordsmen in the militia of Butch, and what was surprising was that Little Phoenix was not inferior at all—— In Sophie's words, this child has a strong offensive intention, and his sword is decisive and precise - not like Eruin's military swordsmanship pursuing offensive and defensive integration, but more like Cruz's aggressive swordsmanship in battle.

But no matter which aspect, from the point of view of a senior soldier, this is already a very high evaluation.

Sophie thought that maybe when Little Phoenix grows to the size of Brando, the swordsmanship will not be inferior at all, of course, the spirituality will be slightly worse-because Brando is almost born to fight.

He sometimes thinks that if the young man in history did not die, but grew up in the war, the final achievement might not be any less radiant than Freya?

Unfortunately, things are fickle, and history has no ifs.

Of course, the most important point in this battle is the reminder that young people are interspersed in it. Sophie seemed to have seen through the corpse witch's thoughts completely, so long as the other party had a subtle intention, he could point it out.

What is it going to do?

Why does it do this?

Is it preparing a spell?

When do you need to interfere with it?

The corpse witch became more and more frightened, and the spirit of death was not afraid, but it would also be lost. At last it almost screamed: "Who are you, the Necromancer? Or the Black Knight?"

In exchange for this sentence, Freya's merciless sword, and its claws clenching the bone staff flew high, the monster screamed, and the green fire in the deep-set eyes dimmed for a while.

"Damn humans..."

The battle finally ended with Macmi's well-established sword. The Corpse Witch had been exhausted to deal with it before that. After both hands and bone staff were shattered, it howled unwillingly, watching the sharp blade cut into its own. skull.

With a click, the fire of the soul burst out from its body. This was the monster's dying counterattack, but with Sophie's reminder, only Essen, who was dodging a little slower, suffered a little burn on his right hand.

On the other side, others also killed the remaining two bones at the expense of one person. When the forest returned to peace, only the wind swept over the top of the forest and made a rustling sound.

Everyone couldn't help but stop and look at each other.

Everyone, including Freya, looked in disbelief. They actually won, facing four skeleton soldiers and a terrifying corpse witch.

The sword in Macmi's hand fell to the ground with a clang, and then a chain reaction of the others. Everyone couldn't help hugging each other, shouting and shouting, and some even cried to vent their feelings.

The rest of the life after the catastrophe really makes people feel a little dazed.

But Sophie was quiet. He raised his head and saw three golden lights fly up from the darkness and melt into his chest. And no one around seemed to notice this detail, even Roman who was standing beside him.

The merchant lady seemed to be breathing a sigh of relief.

Hey, is this only he can see? Sophie couldn't help but feel a little strange.

He glanced around and subconsciously opened the character attributes, just like when he was still in the 'Amber Sword', Sophie was always the first to examine the gains and losses after the battle.

Lines of faint green numbers immediately appeared on the retina——

Strength 1.1, Dexterity 2.0, Constitution 1.0, Intelligence 1.1, Will 1.3, Wisdom 1.0.

Absolute Power 3.5, Elements (Uncivilized)—

Brando, human male, level 1 (strength system: physical, melee; talent: unyielding)

XP: 4 (civilian level 1:—, militia level 2, 6/10)

Health (weak, dying): 10% (bandaged state, restore 1 health per day)

Inauguration (Idle Skill Experience 1)——

Civilian [Basic Knowledge (Level 1), Geographical Knowledge (Level 0), Local Knowledge (Level 1)]

Militia [Military Swordsmanship (Level 1), Fighting Skills (Level 1), Tactical Theory (Level 0), Military Organization (Level 0)]

It can be found that the attributes that have changed are strength and physique, indicating that his physique has been improved from the training (upgrade) of the militia profession.

Then the absolute strength increased by 2.5 energy levels, mainly due to the 1-point dexterity improvement of the ring after the wind, and the secondary change in physical fitness.

In the end, in this battle, he only got four points of experience from four skeleton soldiers and one corpse witch. Only half of the experience she deserves, Sophie thought about it, and finally had to come to a conclusion - team punishment.

This is simply ridiculous, how can there be such a thing in the real world? However, as a game nerd, he doesn't have any professional knowledge to explain all this. After all, time-travel is a more absurd thing than this.

Is not it?

At first he also wanted to figure out how the team punishment here is calculated, but he quickly found that it was futile, because it seemed to have nothing to do with the game at all.

"Lord Martha, fortunately my nerves are thicker..." He couldn't help but help his forehead with a headache.

But then Sophie stared at her militia level and hesitated for a while. To be honest, he didn't really want to continue to invest in this profession. The use of the militia does not need to be described in words, so that it has always been called NPC-specific occupations.

In the last life, he never imagined that one day he would waste his experience in this profession.

And also chose the talent of unyielding!

Masha is on top, there are too many talents suitable for warriors, and unyielding happens to be the worst one. This skill can save him from a fatal physical blow, but he only has five minutes to explain the aftermath, unless he gets a strong enough treatment before that.

But so far, he has not seen anything that is more effective than a bandage to restore life. You must know that these things are everywhere in the game.

But Sophie didn't regret it that much. After all, this skill saved his life, didn't it?

But the situation is the same now, the reality is that he can't find a way to find other careers for a while. And he needs strength urgently, so the only way left is to go all the way to the dark in the profession of militia——

Sophie couldn't help feeling a little depressed for a while.

Do you want to change from a veteran soldier to a veteran militia? Hey, aren't the soldiers enough cannon fodder!
