Chapter 204 Andy: I Hate Basilisks
Andy is confident enough for this trip to the secret room.
As long as he didn't look directly into the basilisk's eyes, Andy believed that a single fire spell would be enough to take care of everything.
Whether you take Hermione with you or not actually doesn't affect the overall situation.
The reason why we made so many preparations before taking action was just to be prepared for any eventuality. Just like Hermione said, once the basilisk escapes from the secret room, the consequences will be too terrible.
Andy simply couldn't afford that.
But since he was 80-90% sure, and Hermione wanted to go in and take a look so much, Andy didn't mind taking the little witch on a smooth adventure.
By the way, let the little witch appreciate her heroic appearance.
Flying along the passage to the bottom, Andy controlled Hermione to stand on the ground, and then handed the broomstick to Hermione, "This is our escape tool."
"I really should let you try the experience of flying with a levitation spell." Hermione said with a pale face.
"Is it?"
Andy smiled and said: "Isa also has the same idea as you."
Hermione rolled her eyes at Andy angrily, "I didn't expect you to bully your sister."
"Who told her not to have a wand?"
Andy gloated and said: "Besides, I am doing this to make Isha study hard. In order to defeat my brother, Isha is working hard now."
"Now I'm looking forward to your duel with Professor Snape. I really hope Professor Snape can teach you a lesson!" Hermione complained.
"Professor Snape can't do it, you'd better count on Dumbledore!" Andy admitted that he had been a little drifting recently.
While talking, Andy did not forget to observe his surroundings.
I have to say that the environment here is very bad.
The ground was covered with a layer of small animal bones. These bones were mixed with the soil, and you could hear a "crunching" sound when you stepped on them.
Andy looked around, frowned and said: "There are many passages here, they should be specially built to allow the basilisk to move around."
Hermione was very smart, and she immediately understood what Andy meant, "So...Slytherin built these passages to allow the basilisk to enter all parts of the castle and kill those who he thought were not worthy of learning magic!"
The little witch's face looked a little unsightly.
This is obviously very different from what Ms Gray said.
According to Ms. Grey, Slytherin is not such an extreme person. Although he does not like students from the Muggle world, he is not so extreme that he wants to kill them.
Slytherin built the Chamber of Secrets to study magic with like-minded people.
"Maybe... it was dark magic that affected him?"
Andy guessed: "Maybe it's because Slytherin couldn't bear to do it, so he gave this task to his descendants and asked his descendants to do this cruel thing."
"Of course, it's also possible that Slytherin didn't dare to do that because the other Big Three were still alive at that time."
There are many reasons, but the passage here cannot be faked.
These passages lead to all parts of the castle.
Slytherin really wants to eliminate those students from the Muggle world!
Maybe it has something to do with the witch hunt at that time!
"Andy!"
Hermione suddenly looked at Andy and said with some surprise: "The sink and the sewer system were all invented by modern Muggles. We wouldn't have used these a thousand years ago."
Andy looked at Hermione in surprise.
The little witch can do it!
I can think of this angle.
Hermione continued her analysis: "Also, in Hogwarts, there have been rumors of the Chamber of Secrets for a long time. If the Chamber of Secrets was only opened once sixty years ago, how could those rumors be left behind?"
"I read in "Hogwarts: A History" that Hogwarts underwent a transformation at the end of the 18th century."
Andy raised his eyebrows and said, "In other words, these pipelines were built later?"
This reason makes perfect sense.
but……
"These have little to do with us, let's go in and take a look!" Andy said.
"Yeah!" Hermione nodded.
After walking along the passage for a while, Andy and Hermione came to an iron door.
"It's up to you!" Hermione said looking at Andy.
"Yeah!" Andy took a step forward.
"Hiss (open)!"
Kaka——
The mechanisms on the iron door kept changing. As the iron door opened, the scene in the secret room also came into Andy's eyes.
At the end of the secret room is a huge statue with a human head, which should be the statue of Slytherin. The statue had its mouth open, and Andy guessed that the basilisk should be sleeping in the mouth of that statue.
The road leading to the statue is lined with pools, and several giant snake statues stand in the pools.
"It seems that Slytherin likes snakes very much." Andy complained.
"What do we do now?" Hermione asked.
"Wait for me here, and I'll lure the basilisk out."
Andy pointed to the open space next to the iron gate and said: "You stand here, don't look inside."
"When the basilisk comes out, I will run out immediately and release the fire spell here to burn the basilisk to death."
Hermione was a little worried, "You... well! Now that things have come to this... Andy, you have to be careful."
"Don't worry! I'm most afraid of death." Andy smiled.
Entering the secret room, Andy stepped forward and took a look at the Slytherin statue. I have to say, this statue is really ugly.
He had an old look on his face, and his mouth was open stupidly.
“Hiss (come out)!”
Andy didn’t know how to wake up the basilisk, so he could only try it improvisationally.
The secret room was quiet for a moment.
Just when Andy thought he had failed, a slight sound suddenly came from the mouth of the statue.
Rustle——
That was the sound of snakes crawling.
Andy took two steps back, always alert in his heart.
“Hiss!”
“It’s out!” Andy said in his heart.
He took out the stone that turned from a rooster in his pocket, carefully placed it on the ground, and left the secret room without a sound.
“Andy!” Hermione looked at Andy nervously.
“The basilisk is out.” Andy said.
Hermione was so nervous that she almost forgot to breathe.
“Hiss!”
Hearing the movement in the secret room, Andy leaned against the wall, put his wand into the secret room through the iron door, and lifted the rooster’s transformation.
“Oh oh oh oh!!!”
The rooster’s crowing came from the secret room, followed by the sound of ‘boom boom boom’.
Andy guessed that the basilisk must be in great pain.
Hermione said in surprise: "Andy, the rooster's crowing worked."
"It's only temporary!"
Andy said calmly: "Don't forget, the basilisk has lived for a thousand years, and its eyes can kill roosters."
"We have to use this!"
While speaking, Andy stretched out his wand, and a ball of fierce fire slowly jumped about ten centimeters in front of the wand.
"I hate basilisks!"
