Chapter 961 "Pre-Production" J-10A

After the week-long technical meeting was finalized, the research and development of Ocean One's onboard software gradually got on track.

Including Lin Senming's actions were completely consistent with Chang Haonan's prediction——

In just a few days, he pulled together a small team from the Fifth Aerospace Academy that was independent of the Ocean One project team and was responsible for cooperating with the Torch Laboratory to develop multi-phase diagram segmentation technology.

Or strictly speaking, pre-research.

Although in this timeline, China is already a lot more generous in terms of scientific research funding, after all, it is 2001 and not 2021.

Unless a topic is of critical importance, the resources that can be allocated are always relatively limited.

Therefore, for technologies such as polyphase image segmentation that are obviously going to compete in the future, the usual practice is to set up a project first and promote it in the name of pre-research. When a big project related to it appears, we will wait for the right opportunity to be affiliated with it and formally establish the project. .

Although it seems to be just a roundabout way, it can often obtain several times or even an order of magnitude more funding.

And because it involves key projects, the impact of completing the same research content will be completely different.

As for the Torch Laboratory, Yao Mengna was sent for docking as Chang Haonan promised before.

In the past two years or so, Yao Mengna started from topology and gradually completed her goal of "deepening theoretical foundation".

Although there is still a certain gap between cheating players like Chang Haonan and those majoring in theoretical mathematics or theoretical physics.

But as an essentially applied technician, her level is sufficient to handle most of her jobs.

Apart from anything else, at least now Chang Haonan can no longer judge the readability of a paper by "even the senior sister can understand it" as he did back then.

The polyphase diagram segmentation technology in front of us is right at the interface between mathematical theory and computer applications.

It's just the right time for Yao Mengna to take the opportunity to practice...

Just like that, autumn passes and winter comes.

Time has quickly entered December.

As usual, the Aerospace Power Group will conduct a year-end work summary at this time of each year and plan the work for the next year.

The former is mainly completed by Lin Zuoming and Zhu Linyu.

But the second thing is obviously the task of Chang Haonan, the chief planner.

Fortunately, the overall development route of the Aerospace Power Group was set before the split of the head office in 1998, and until now, the preset time nodes have only been advanced, not delayed.

So I just need to take out the cake I drew back then and refine it a little bit.

Chang Haonan has already completed this task in his spare time from scientific research.

Of course, Zhang Liangping must have completed the specific writing and polishing tasks.

The content is not complicated either.

The first is to strive to complete the production of the turbofan 10 in the first quarter, and to start the development of the ship-specific model turbofan 10H based on it.

The second step is to complete the overall design of the SeA650 engine and implement installation testing.

Third, on the basis of realizing the second item, the research and development of turbofan 20 and QC/QD300 series aeroderivative gas turbines will be officially launched before the end of the year.

Considering that the core machines of these two models are derived from the turbofan 10, there should be no very difficult obstacles to overcome at least technically.

All that's left are bits and pieces.

For example, we started pre-research on the fourth-generation turbofan engine.

In fact, logically speaking, developing a new generation of products should be considered a major event.

At least it shouldn't be classified into miscellaneous items.

But the situation of turbofan 10 is really too special.

When the overall design was carried out that year, it was actually planned according to the fourth-generation engine with a thrust ratio of 10.

Just because China was too weak in materials and technology, it had to be "shrunk" into a model with performance approximately equal to three and a half generations of aircraft engines.

Therefore, the gold content of this fourth-generation pre-research is really low, and it hardly involves any actual technical work.

Mainly to track the current level of basic disciplines in China.

Provide some resources to promote if necessary.

When the conditions are met, once the sealed turbofan 10 in the past is unsealed, a fourth-generation engine should be available soon.

Because the workload of this process is so small, Chang Haonan often struggles with whether to give the fourth-generation engine a new model.

Or just call the turbofan 10G and be done with it.

In fact, what he really needs to work hard on is the next generation of variable cycle technology.

But that is indeed a bit far away, at least it is not an issue that needs to be considered in 2002...

However, everything was ready on Chang Haonan's side, just waiting for the annual meeting to be held.

A slightly sudden, but not unexpected invitation was sent to his desk——

The J-10A will undergo a pre-production trial installation ceremony on December 15, 2001.

Although Chang Haonan did not directly participate in the research and development of Project 10, he made the greatest contribution to the development of the J-10A sub-model.

Being invited to attend was perfectly normal.

The only problem is that this day also happens to be the day when the Aerospace Power Group was originally scheduled to hold its annual summary meeting.

Even the notice has been sent out, and it is not easy to delay it just because Chang Haonan is alone.

So, someone else had to do it for him.

For Chang Haonan, this kind of delivery ceremony is no stranger.

However, it was the first time he participated in Chengdu.

Although Sichuan Province in December was not as cold as Shengjing outside the Great Wall, the damp and cold climate made him, a northerner, uncomfortable.

Therefore, before getting off the plane, Chang Haonan put on a military coat.

Fortunately, compared with the first time he came to Chengdu, his private plane can now fly directly to the Huangtianba Airport of the 132nd Factory, saving the trouble of taking a car on the ground.

Of course, from another level, Rongfei Group has made a lot of money by selling J-7Fs in recent years, and it does not have to continue to use those miscellaneous off-road vehicles that were so likely to fall apart on the mountain roads.

After getting off the plane, Chang Haonan saw the "Three Musketeers" responsible for the development of the J-10 at a glance not far below the gangway -

Xue Chiqi, Song Wencong and Yang Wei.

Compared to the last time they met, the first two had obviously become much older.

Especially Song Wencong.

When he was called back to preside over Project No. 10, he was actually quite old.

By this time in 2001, he was already 71 years old.

In fact, in the second half of the development of the J-10A, Song Wencong had already begun to gradually transfer the command of the project to Yang Wei, the deputy chief designer.

As for the two-seat J-10AS, which is still in flight test, the latter is directly listed as the chief designer.

The three of them stepped forward and greeted Chang Haonan with either a handshake or a hug.

"Let's go, let's go over there and take a look."

After a brief greeting, Song Wencong raised his hand and pointed to the direction of the general assembly workshop not far away -

At the door of the workshop, the four pre-production J-10A that were about to be delivered were parked.

While walking on the road, Song Wencong had already begun to introduce the general situation of this delivery to Chang Haonan.

In fact, even if he didn't introduce it, Chang Haonan knew it.

The situation of this batch of aircraft is slightly different from the "small batch production" of the J-11B.

The latter is a "small quantity and multiple times" production after the design is finalized in order to speed up the production finalization progress and allow the factory to adapt to the production process of the new model.

It is mainly to quickly improve the process flow and prepare for the formal mass production later.

It is considered a behavior of Party A.

For users, the technical status is generally no different from the later batches.

But the "pre-production model" of the J-10A is in a stage that is even earlier.

It has completed all the tests required for the design finalization, but the finalization documents have not been officially issued.

It is equivalent to letting users use it again to see if there are any problems that have not been discovered during the test flight process.

If there are, there is a last chance to check for deficiencies before the design is finalized.

For example, on the original timeline, the first pre-production model of the J-10 delivered did not have the ability to use active medium-range missiles, and the landing gear door was also two-piece.

It is different from the real mass production model later.

So it was re-melted again and upgraded to the technical status after formal finalization.

Of course, the four J-10As in front of us do not have these problems.

The PL-12 was tested by the J-8C and J-11B last month, and was finalized with 12 hits out of 12. The first batch of mass-produced bombs has even been delivered to the 1st Regiment of the 1st Air Division.

Although the J-10A has not had time to conduct live-fire shooting, it is undoubtedly compatible in the fire control system in advance.

As for why "pre-production" is still necessary in this case, it is obviously just out of caution.

After all, it is the first 100% self-developed + domestically produced third-generation aircraft.

It is always better to go steady.

As they were talking, several people had arrived at the door of the factory.

To be honest, although the upgrade plan of the J-10 was almost entirely promoted by Chang Haonan, the impression left on him by the slim version of the J-10 in his previous life was too deep.

So much so that when standing in front of this plump version of the J-10, Chang Haonan felt a little unreal for a while.

None of the four aircraft had five-digit numbers, but only the tactical numbers 01-04 were painted on the side of the aircraft with low-visibility gray.

As for the mounts, they were two standard auxiliary fuel tanks for transfer flights.

Due to the huge increase in the internal fuel volume and the installation of three weapon racks in parallel, one in front and two in the back, Rongfei directly cancelled the ability to accommodate the third auxiliary fuel tank in this position.

Anyway, the original 800L auxiliary fuel tank in the belly would not have much impact on the range.

"These aircraft are ready to be delivered to..."

Chang Haonan turned around and asked.

Without the aircraft number, it is impossible to directly determine the unit of equipment.

Yang Wei pointed to the outermost aircraft No. 04.

Four pilots wearing flight jackets were surrounding an air force officer with the rank of colonel, probably listening to the mission deployment.

"The 131st Regiment of the 44th Air Division is the unit that is used to painting the big red eagle on the aircraft."
