First Anniversary Speech

Today is the first anniversary of the serialization of this book.

The first chapter was published on May 22 last year, so far there are 905 chapters and 2.24 million words.

Xiao Xin is quite diligent, right?

This is the book I have serialized for the longest time, has the most words, and is also the one I have experienced the most tangles with.

Especially after experiencing family changes, the later part of the book was particularly difficult.

Today I’ll just talk about the fun stuff, the “past” and “future” of this book.

About the past: In the middle of this book, due to the "entertainment line", many things were changed. I even changed the introduction twice. The current page shows the third edition.

There was a time in the middle when I thought I had collapsed, and I even thought about finishing it after reaching 1 million words. But fortunately, I still wrote some things that I liked, and judging from the feedback, everyone should still be able to accept it.

My favorite plots in the early stage are probably "Singing at the mobilization rally, Lu Xubo decided to repeat his studies" and "The top student in the college entrance examination rode on a donkey and paraded through the streets, bidding farewell to the town where he was born and raised." Especially the latter scene, I was very involved in writing it. I listened to it at the time "Proud Boy" feels like I am also in that small town. (Coordinates: Chapter 85)

These two scenes are the best ending to the entire new book period, the first 200,000 words.

As a result, something went wrong as soon as the new book issue was over. 20 chapters were updated in one day after it was released, which was a bit of a show-off.

But I exhausted all the saved manuscripts, and there was no time to collect feedback from readers, which led to the first confusion. This is one of the decisions I regret most about this book.

The dozens of chapters that followed were all affected by this, so much so that the ground-level style that originally continued in Qinghe Town became suspended.

The supporting roles of Yan Xueyi, Xiang Weilin, and Gu Xiaonai were cut off, and even disappeared later on.

Bracket: Yan Xueyi was scolded, but the more important reason is that I am not firm-minded.

After that, the entertainment line was weakened, and finally it was directly cut off.

Speaking of which, the trend of online writing has changed very quickly. When I started a new book, Qidian’s new book list was full of blockbuster entertainment articles, with male and female protagonists working together in the entertainment industry.

In the end, it took more than two months to write, because there were several 208 landslides in reality, and the Internet atmosphere suddenly changed. My entertainment line was scolded to the point of being autistic, and I was criticized no matter how I wrote it.

I don’t really like the 208s myself, I just wrote it based on the plot needs and outline. The first chapter of Li Wenqian’s character is there. You can also see that Han and Li have a scientific research line and an entertainment line.

What’s interesting is that when I refreshed the book list recently, I found that entertainment articles are on the rise again, with a significant increase in their proportion.

Let’s go a little further and re-examine my favorite scenes.

Entertainment began to weaken and focus on technology. At this time, the book entered the middle period.

As for your favorite plot in the mid-term, you may not be able to guess it.

I like this section even more than "J-20 Takeoff", "F119 Showdown at the Shipyard", and even "Strait Tsunami".

If we add a second favorite in the mid-term, it should be "Old Man Mi from Hongqi Village Appears" (coordinates 320-325).

At that time, I was listening to "Motherland" about the war in the South and the North, and I cried while writing it.

After the Strait Incident, the book enters the fourth volume "New Era", which is considered the later period of the book.

At this time, basically only the "technology" line was left, but Xiao Xin still tried his best to write about humanity, stories, and warmth, rather than a list of achievements.

However, all urban novels have a problem, that is, when the protagonist accumulates too much in the later stage, it will become difficult to grasp. In addition, things happen one after another in the family, which can only be described as suffering.

In the later period, Xiao Xin's favorite scene was not "the launch of Chang'e 3" or "the Nantianmen Project", and naturally it would not be "the assassination of Zhou Rui".

Rather, "When I first joined the space agency, I could appreciate Mr. Qian's style as if he were speaking on his face."

I still remember that day, I spent four or five hours checking the relevant information about Qian Lao. I continued to add more after that. I estimate that I spent more than ten hours looking up information about Qian Lao.

By the way, all the content about "Qian Lao" in this book is written under the influence of rigorous reality. Even every sentence and every story has a prototype in reality.

The relationship with Sun Jiadong, participating in the construction of nuclear submarines, the ten-year difficulty of Dongfang No. 1, and every famous saying of Qian Lao.

The more I study, the more I feel the majesty of the giant.

All major events also have realistic references. For example, in which year the "Che County Incident" really existed, but the name was blurred.

Okay, enough nonsense, let’s talk about the “future” of this book.

It already has more than 2 million words, so naturally I have to think about the ending. In fact, Xiao Xin has been thinking about it for a long time.

There are still two "big events" on hand that I haven't written yet.

And there is still one "Tong Xin" left in the emotional line that has not yet ended.

The time required is unknown, so work hard to write it well.

I won’t spoil the two major events. They are both blockbuster events, and Xiao Xin herself is looking forward to them very much.

In addition, quality outweighs quantity in the later stage. If unfortunately it gets stuck, for the sake of the cake, just be tolerant of Xiao Xin.
