Chapter 6 6 Disputes

Chapter 6 6. Dispute

Jefferson struggled to stand up.

He had some fighting skills, and he pulled out the long dagger from his boots while struggling.

Roy guessed that he must have the blood of the Dark Moon Elf. He attacked fiercely and quickly, and the angle was extremely tricky. The moment the dagger turned over between his wrists, it easily pierced the soft leather vest on the left rib of the crew member and inserted it from the edge of the eleventh rib.

The crew member did not expect that the drunk elf would be so cruel. When he reacted, he only felt a sharp pain in his diaphragm and even had difficulty breathing.

He endured the severe pain and grabbed the handle of the long dagger, trying to kick Jefferson away.

At this time, Jefferson had pulled out the bloody dagger, and his body rolled backwards rapidly, preparing to jump into the dense bushes below along the railing of the suspended terrace.

The crew member's bloody hand was also cut off by a sharp dagger, but his palm was still pressed on the wound that was bleeding.

The other crew members immediately surrounded Jefferson when they found the fight here.

Seeing that their crew member was stabbed by the drunk elf, these crew members were not so calm.

With a few shouts, the crew members were filled with clear fighting spirit, and they almost rushed towards Jefferson at the same time.

Although Jefferson was quite skilled, there were more than ten crew members in this group, and they cooperated with each other very well. When they attacked, they almost blocked all of Jefferson's retreat routes. Some people rushed to the railing first...

The battle ended as soon as it began.

The four crew members pounced on Jefferson at the same time, pressed him to the terrace floor, grabbed Jefferson's messy curly hair, lifted him up suddenly, and slammed him on the floor again, causing Jefferson's head to bleed and his limbs that were still struggling to become weak.

Surrounded by a dozen crew members, they dragged Jefferson to the alley behind the tavern.

The blood flowing from Jefferson's head dripped onto the floor, forming an intermittent line.

Roy, like the waitress in the tavern, was almost scared to death standing by, and the bar owner also ran out of the wooden house full of barrels.

Magician Benjamin squatted beside the crew member lying on the ground, chanting a short spell while unfolding a magic scroll.

Rays of light sprinkled down, and the crew member's face looked even more painful.

"What a trouble!"

Benjamin muttered, and with a look of regret, he poured a bottle of light red potion into the crew member's mouth.

Roy had seen this magical potion in Mrs. Winnie's pharmacy...

The strong crew member walked out quickly from the back of the tavern. He said two words to Benjamin quickly in the imperial language. Benjamin was also stunned, and quickly questioned, and then began to help the crew member lying on the ground bandage his wounds.

They moved very quickly and had no time to pay attention to Roy.

The crew members who came back from the back had gloomy faces, and some even stared at Roy, the tavern owner and the waitress with unfriendly eyes.

When the crew members in the alley behind returned, they did not stay in the tavern, but walked straight to the door of the tavern.

The strong crew member who seemed to be the leader, with the help of others, carried the injured crew member and followed them out.

No one in the tavern stopped them at all...

The magician Benjamin did not say anything else. Before leaving, he just patted Roy on the shoulder, put a stack of Kohler on the table, and took away the bottles of sparkling wine that had not been finished.

He walked at the back, and the crew members at the door were obviously waiting for him.

They ran very fast, and did not walk along Brown Street to the city, but followed the stone steps extending to the seaside along the edge of the tavern and went into the dense woods.

At this time, the waitress who had the courage to take the opportunity to check the situation at the back of the alley screamed:

'Ah! ’

Roy was a bit overwhelmed, things seemed to be getting worse and worse…

This was the first time Roy had seen someone use a knife in front of him, and there was no fierce fighting scene.

Both sides were very fierce, and it took less than a quarter of an hour from the bleeding to the crew members running away.

At this time, it was too late for Roy to leave.

In fact, he couldn't just pat his butt and leave, because the tavern owner and the waitress knew him.

Everyone lived on Brown Street, even if they couldn't call each other's names, at least they would often meet each other.

Jefferson fell behind the alley of the tavern. He was cut by the crew, and the blood stained his worn leather armor red. His clothes were still there, the bloody dagger in his hand was still there, and the money in his pocket was still there, although there were no Kohlers in that pocket.

The tavern owner seemed very calm. While asking Roy to stay, he ran out to find the elf patrol of Castletown Port.

Roy had just seen three elf patrolmen handling a case at the Statue of Liberty. Now he saw three more elf patrolmen rushing over here. They were wearing light armor and carrying elf swords on their waists. They looked very heroic.

Roy thought: These elf patrolmen are really busy.

But he didn't dare to complain at this time. He just sat next to the waitress.

The elf patrol began to confirm Jefferson's identity. Roy found that the tavern owner and the waitress also knew the deceased Jefferson.

Then several elf patrols began to investigate the cause of the incident:

According to the tavern owner, touching hands is nothing, and Jefferson and Lucy know each other. The reason why the two had some disputes was that Jefferson wanted to buy a glass of wine on credit, and the waitress Lucy was worried that he would not admit it later, so she didn't want to pay for him.

And those human warriors fought with Jefferson, just to help Lucy out, but Jefferson's reaction was a bit extreme. He used a knife on the group of human warriors, and someone on the other side fell down first.

The group of angry humans temporarily dragged Jefferson to the back alley.

Everyone thought that Jefferson would be beaten up, and then wait for the elf patrols to come,

but they didn't expect that those human warriors were also very tough and directly cut Jefferson's neck...

The tavern owner described the incident very objectively, without favoring anyone.

...

Miss Lucy, the waitress of the tavern, looked aggrieved.

She confessed that she and the Dark Moon Elf Jefferson met at an open-air square dance.

There were two times when they were tired of dancing, so Lucy took Jefferson home to spend the night. The elves all believed in the feelings that burst out from this short-term relationship...

But later Lucy found that Jefferson didn't have a proper job. He would always take some shady tasks to earn a little money. He often spent money when he had money, and tightened his belt to find work when he didn't have money.

Jefferson was short of money these days, and she didn't pay much attention to him these two days.

It is said that in this situation, Jefferson would almost disappear quietly for a few days, and when he had more money, he would appear again with a bouquet of flowers.

But I didn't expect this guy to come to the tavern in the morning, sit for half a day, and refuse to leave...

If he hadn't pestered Lucy and wanted Lucy to buy him another drink, the following things wouldn't have happened.

The elf patrol who recorded these things looked at the waitress with contempt, and there was no eye contact during the whole process.

...

A fair-faced elf patrolman sat opposite Roy, with two glasses of water on the table.

The elf patrolman had sharp eyes and liked to stare into Roy's eyes when asking questions. He asked Roy many questions.

Roy answered them truthfully.

For example, the two sides met at the dock, and he promised to be their guide...

For example, this group of sailors booked a few rooms in the wooden house hotel, and then ran to the Linhai Tavern to drink...

Another example is that they came on a five-masted sailing ship and just got off the ship...

The elf patrolman held a delicate quill pen and recorded Roy's words on a piece of white paper without missing a word.

"If we have anything, we will find you again."

The elf patrolman said to Roy with a stern face.

Roy nodded honestly, and after being interrogated by the elf patrolman, he stood aside dejectedly.

In order to find out some news from the outside world, he was inexplicably involved in such a chaos. It was really not worth it.

The elf patrolmen took Jefferson's body away.

The life of the elves is very precious, but the patrols will continue to investigate this matter. However, they are not in a hurry to track down the murderers because they are short of manpower.

Of course, no one will admit that this has anything to do with 'Jefferson is a Dark Moon Elf'.

The tavern did not seem to be affected by this. Before the elf patrols left, the waitress began to wipe the blood on the floor with a mop.

The tavern owner also went back to the wooden house of the tavern to rest.

The tavern did not suffer any losses. The elf patrols would track down the murderer based on the existing clues. No one paid any attention to Roy.

Roy found that he had nothing to do, so he walked outside the tavern. Just then, a thin elf timidly avoided the three elf patrols. He was holding a package in his arms and walked in from outside.

When he passed by Roy, Roy took a casual glance and saw a few basil leaves on his pants, as if he had just walked through the woods...

His hair was messy, probably because he hadn't washed it for a long time. He was worried that his hair would stick up, so he took some water and forced it down.

Walking out of the pub...

Roy stopped abruptly. He suddenly remembered that the only place where basil trees grew nearby was outside the wall of the Statue of Liberty. There was no such thing anywhere else.

The man he saw climbing over the wall of the Statue of Liberty this morning...could it be him?
