Closing Remarks

This is the first time I have finished a book, so I have to say a few more words to you.

This book took two years and two months to write, with a total of 3.48 million words, and the final average was 3720, which is a high-quality result.

Although I swore and vowed many times before starting the book that I must finish it, I felt incredible that I really finished it.

For a lazy person like me, it is really a miracle.

Writing a book is very interesting, especially when some of the plots you wrote are recognized by book friends and some paragraph descriptions are praised, the joy is stronger than getting the manuscript fee.

An important reason why many new authors cannot persist is that they cannot get positive feedback from book friends.

Of course, writing a book is indeed very tiring.

Looking back on the past two years, I have hardly fallen asleep before one o'clock every night, and my family relationship is inevitably affected.

And even when I took leave to rest, I was either filling in the chapters or thinking about the next plot, and I couldn't rest at all.

Let me tell you about the circumstances under which this book appeared.

Actually, before I came to Qidian, I had published five or six books on Feilu and Zongheng. None of them were finished. The short ones were only 20,000 to 30,000 words, and the long ones were 300,000 to 400,000 words. In total, they were almost one million words.

You can also see the few books I wrote after coming to Qidian. They were almost hundreds of thousands of words, and all of them were completely flops.

This is not surprising. From my perspective today, the books I wrote at that time were completely at the level of a "layman".

Like many new writers, I thought that I had read online novels for many years, so I must be able to write high-quality novels, but in fact, I knew nothing about how to write online novels, such as the beginning, character setting, plot rhythm, and the poisonous points that book friends hate.

Two years ago, there were not many tutorials on various short video online platforms to impart some experience, unlike today.

Without friends in the industry, I could only rely on my own understanding.

So, I was very confused at the time. Obviously, my appreciation ability was okay, so why did the stories I conceived and thought were interesting fail so thoroughly?

After the last book failed, I actually lost confidence and decided not to write anymore. I was ready to be a reader at ease.

Later, I saw the book "A Professor of Magic at Hogwarts" on Qidian.

Many book lovers who love HP fan fiction think that the book "Professor of Magic" is the best among HP fan fiction. As a reader who loves HP, I was also shocked when I saw it. I thought the book was well written and interesting.

But after I came to my senses, I felt a little unconvinced.

Because I asked myself that my writing skills were still online among the many failed fan fictions. Even if I couldn't write an excellent fan fiction book like "Professor of Magic", it wouldn't be such a complete failure, right?

Of course, this is still the self-satisfaction of an "outsider".

In short, stimulated by this book, I read the entire series of HP carefully again, took notes, wrote an outline, tried again, and finally, I had this book.

But objectively speaking, when I wrote the beginning of this book, I was still a novice author who knew nothing, so I made some eye-catching poison points in some settings and plot processing at the beginning.

I was able to get good feedback at the beginning of this book. In my opinion, it was mostly luck. I happened to write a fairly interesting beginning and received positive feedback from many book friends.

In the process of writing for the next two years, I formed a set of concepts about how to write online articles and had some understanding of the industry of online writers through intentional understanding.

There are also some regrets. The performance of this book is far from that of the Professor of Magical Writings, but as the first completed book of a new author, it is nothing to say that it can achieve the results of a fine product.

In terms of self-evaluation, among all online writers, I lack creative talent, so I can't build an interesting magic world.

My advantage is logical thinking ability. In short, I think it is difficult for me to write groundbreaking novels, but I can write stories.
