End of This Testimonial
Huh~~~ Finally finished writing.
Tomorrow's Calamity has nearly 2.7 million words so far, which is the longest novel I have ever written.
Speaking of the ending, many readers recently asked me if I finished it too quickly, if it was too hasty, and if there was any special reason...
But in fact, as early as half a year ago, I said that the end time would be April at the earliest and June at the latest. Then in the past six months, I often talked about things that were about to end in the author's words.
So the process of the whole plot may change, but the ending is still in the plan.
In fact, when I was writing the outline of the ending of Tomorrow's Calamity, I have always hesitated, that is whether to write the universe chapter.
But in the end, based on my own experience, endurance, technology, durability and other factors, I have always tended not to write.
Because I know that after the strength of the main character is raised to the cosmic level, the sense of substitution will become worse and worse for the many strange, funny, conspiracy, friendship, etc. parts of Tomorrow's Calamity itself. In particular, the original unknown, crazy, and desperate Cthulhu elements will be greatly diluted.
And because Zhou Bai's strength is too strong, it is not easy to describe the perspectives of many alien civilizations and great civilizations.
For example, the protagonist has no contact with the daily life of ordinary people at all, and he actually solves everything with a single thought. And if he doesn't solve it with one thought, but insists on pretending to be an ordinary person to experience life, pretending to be a pig and eating a tiger, in my opinion, the whole plot will become more and more unreasonable and less exciting.
So the whole book is either ungrounded or unreasonable. One hundred thousand words and two hundred thousand words can still support it, and if it continues, it will definitely collapse more and more.
Of course, it is also possible to continue to upgrade, for example, if there is another level 10 and 20 on Zhou Bai's head, but that would be too inconsistent with the setting and style of Tomorrow's Calamity, and gradually become other types of novels.
So to be honest, before starting the book, I finally made a two-handed decision. If the novel is not very successful, I will finish writing the universe chapter at the speed of light, and fill in all the pits that need to be filled. The next book will take a better-selling path. . (After all, we have to have a meal)
And if the catastrophe of tomorrow is enough for me to support my family, then put the stories of other civilizations, other planets, and other power systems in the next few novels, let Zhou Bai become a supporting role and boss in other chapters, and describe him from the side. after the story.
In the end, who would have thought that I would become a great god. Although I am the best among the great gods, I am also a great god, at least I am a Yan Zhenjun.
So there will be a second novel in the universe of Tomorrow's Calamity, which should be my next novel.
In the next novel, the story will still take place in the universe of Tomorrow's Calamity, but the era, location, power system, etc. will be completely different, and another protagonist will be used to present the story of this universe.
Of course, according to my previous experience in writing the Demon God Trilogy, I will definitely do everything possible to lower the threshold so that readers who have never read Tomorrow's Calamity can read the next novel smoothly, and even completely treat the next novel as a novel. To read it as a separate work, there is no need to read Tomorrow's Calamity first.
As for the type of the next novel, there are currently two possibilities that have been temporarily decided, one is the background of the near future, and the other is the background of ancient China, both of which are in the style of black souls + wizards. However, the specifics are yet to be determined and may change.
After all, in the next two or three months, I plan to take a good rest and work hard to collect materials.
The biggest regret of Tomorrow's Calamity is that I was too poor before the book was published, and the preparation time was too short. It took only one month of preparation time to open the book, and then prepare to put it on the shelves and prepare to make money. The outline is still not solid enough.
For the next novel, I can finally prepare for two or three months. I have to correct many problems that occurred when I wrote Tomorrow's Calamity, I have to correct a lot of self-willedness, and I have to understand your readers' feelings better.
During the update of Tomorrow's Calamity, I listed several tens of thousands of words of improvement points and materials to read, and now I finally have time.
Finally, I would like to say sorry, my update has been unstable in the past month, on the one hand because it is about to end, on the other hand it is because of family affairs.
Some readers who have read my author's words may know that because my father's stomach cancer has recurred and spread, I have to be more busy with family affairs recently. I would like to apologize again here.
In fact, in the past month, I was also very anxious. I often wished that the next chapter would be finished directly, and then I would go to work at home, but I knew that this would not work. Adults must be responsible for their own work. Finish off nicely.
...
Finally, let's talk about the new contract that has been making a lot of noise recently. I've been very busy recently, and I don't know any high-level people in the China Literature Group, so I'm actually the same as everyone else, that is, I took a little look in various Weibo and groups.
Let me talk about my own situation here first. I signed a long-term reading contract when I was killing silently, and my subsequent novels have always been a continuation of this long-term contract. It has been postponed to 2025, and there are still three works.
So I didn't sign the new contract, and I couldn't possibly agree to it.
And if the situation is normal and the original contract is still followed, I must have written until the contract expires.
As for the future of Qidian, as far as I know, none of the authors who rely on Qidian to support their families agree to such a stupid contract. Every author is doing his best to improve the situation, but in the end the contract will become I don't know what it looks like now.
It can only be said that after everyone has done their part, I hope that Qidian will become more and more like the No. 1 web site in the future, and every type of author can have a good meal here with their own talents. Text can become richer and richer, accommodating more and more types of authors and readers.
See you next book.
