Chapter 21 21 Tool Cat and Drama Queen

Chapter 21 -21- Tool Cat and Drama Queen

"Mr. Sheriff! It's the courtyard in front! I saw a carriage go in with my own eyes, followed by two horsemen!"

"They were holding crossbows!"

On the dilapidated street, a skinny homeless man pointed to the courtyard not far away and said flatteringly.

In front of him were two teams of knights.

One team was wearing black robes and holding silver swords. They were obviously knights of the Demon Hunting Institute. The leaders were the second-level female knight Kara of Silver Moon and the Duke's son Leno. Behind them was the anxious old servant of the Castel family, Quasimodo.

The other team was dressed in leather armor. They were the city guards of Boulder City. The leader was a noble in a long robe with a mustache.

It was the noble in the long robe who was talking to the homeless man.

He pinched his mustache modestly, nodded slightly, and then looked at Leno on the other side flatteringly:

"Lord Leno, this should be here. This used to be the manor of Count Broglie. It was abandoned after the disaster ten years ago."

"We received a report more than ten minutes ago that someone was riding a horse in the city. The description of the carriage was very similar to that of the Castel family. It is very likely that they were the hijackers."

Leno nodded solemnly and looked at Kara.

Kara did not speak, but directly led the Demon Hunter Knight to rush in.

Leno was stunned and subconsciously wanted to follow, but after glancing at the homeless man who looked forward to please, he stopped again and reached into his pocket for a while.

The homeless man's eyes gradually brightened, full of hope.

But after Leno touched for a while, his expression was a little embarrassed.

He looked at the tramp, coughed dryly, looked away unnaturally, and said to the others as if nothing had happened:

"Captain Kara has already gone in, let's catch up."

After that, he rode his horse and followed.

The tramp sighed and looked at the robed nobleman who was the sheriff.

The robed nobleman:...

"What are you still standing there for? Get out of the way! Can you afford to delay the work of the Demon Hunting Office?!"

He frowned, whipped the whip in the air, and shouted coldly.

Then, he also rushed in with the remaining city guards.

The tramp was left cursing in the dust:

"Bah! The stingy nobleman! I curse you to have no asshole when you give birth to a child!"

...

When the crowd entered the courtyard, the strong smell of blood hit them.

The faces of the crowd changed almost at the same time.

Kara's eyes swept over the bloodstains on the ground that looked like a beast, turned over and got off the horse, knelt on one knee and grabbed a handful of blood-stained soil.

"The bloodstains have solidified not long ago, it should be fifteen minutes to half an hour ago. Judging from the traces of battle, it should be some kind of small monster, more humanoid."

Leno also followed, looking around and said.

Kara looked at him unexpectedly, but didn't say anything.

Her eyes followed the bloodstains to the broken carriage and hideous corpse not far away.

"Two servants had their hearts taken out, and the other one...hiss...a bit miserable, it looks like the first one to encounter a monster."

Leno tutted.

As he said, he pinched his chin, thinking:

"This killing method...a bit like-"

"Blood demon."

Kara continued.

Her eyes kept wandering around, as if looking for something.

"Blood...blood demon?! Lord Kara, do you mean that my master has encountered the blood demon again?!"

Quasimodo's eyes widened, his expression horrified, and beads of sweat almost instantly appeared on his forehead.

"Don't worry, your master is not here, this is a good thing."

Leno comforted.

After saying that, he walked forward to investigate, but was tripped by something under his feet.

Leno looked down and found that it was a crossbow.

He picked up the crossbow casually, looked at it for a few times and was about to throw it away, but suddenly his expression changed slightly.

He looked at the crossbow handle seriously for a while, and his face became more and more ugly.

He quietly glanced at the demon hunters and city guards who were searching the scene, and silently put away the crossbow.

The scene in the courtyard was horrible.

After a search, everyone had confirmed that the three people who kidnapped the Countess of Castel were dead.

Even the packhorse of the carriage found a body in the forest.

However, the kidnapped girl disappeared.

Quasimodo's expression became more and more anxious and worried, and the faces of the demon hunters gradually became solemn.

At this moment, a crazy roar suddenly came from deeper in the courtyard:

"Roar!"

The female knight Kara did not hesitate, and rushed over almost instantly, and the remaining demon hunters followed.

Leno hesitated for a moment, and also followed with the sheriff and the city guards.

The crowd bypassed a forest, and the view was wide open.

What came into view was an abandoned garden. A silver light cage was very eye-catching in the night, and a hunched humanoid monster was trapped in it.

It had a pair of sharp fangs, and a long tongue with mucus flowing. It roared and struggled in the cage.

Leno's eyes condensed slightly, and Kara's eyes flashed with a cold light:

"It's an out-of-control blood demon."

"Hey! You are finally here, meow!"

A hoarse voice attracted everyone's attention.

Everyone looked over and saw a fat black cat lying lazily on the broken sculpture not far from the cage of light.

One of its front paws held its head in a humane way, and the other front paw yawned:

"Yawn... If you don't come, I will fall asleep."

"Lord Nice? Why are you here?"

The demon hunters were slightly stunned.

The female knight Kara was not surprised, but asked directly and concisely:

"Where is she?"

"Yawn... In the carriage behind!"

It nodded behind.

There was also an intact carriage parked there.

The moonlight was like water, and the night breeze blew open the curtains of the carriage, revealing the scene inside.

In the carriage, a petite and beautiful girl was curled up in the corner, sleeping quietly.

She was breathing steadily, her white dress was very neat, her slightly raised chest rose and fell smoothly, her long eyelashes trembled slightly, and she would occasionally smack her lips, as if she had a good dream.

"Master!"

Quasimodo was surprised and rushed up.

"Shh! Keep your voice down! I'm still asleep!"

The black cat quickly raised a paw and blew it in front of his mouth, staring at him with cat eyes.

"Um... Oh oh oh!"

Quasimodo was stunned for a moment, and quickly covered his mouth and nodded, his movements became unprecedentedly gentle and careful.

The black cat was relieved.

At this time, Kara looked at it, and her voice was as cold as ever:

"What happened?"

"Hey, what else can it be? It's the bad luck of those three idiots. They chose this yard as their base. Who knows that there is an out-of-control blood demon hiding here!"

The black cat pouted.

Then, it said bitterly:

"That is such an ugly and cunning blood demon! So cruel! So evil!"

"If I hadn't been following you secretly, the eldest lady of Castel would have suffered!"

"Okay, it's good that you're here. Maintaining this orderly cage has exhausted me, the cat!"

"You? You saved my master?"

Quasimodo was grateful.

The black cat's expression was a little unnatural.

It coughed dryly, looked at the sleeping girl behind it with a guilty look, and then said proudly:

"Well, the cat was also entrusted by someone to protect your lady in the recent period of time! If you want to thank...thank Raoul from the church hospital!"

When it mentioned the name Raoul, it almost gritted its teeth.

"Thank you! Thank you very much! The Castel family will never forget your kindness!"

Quasimodo kept thanking.

The voices of the crowd seemed to wake up the sleeping girl, and a delicate hum came from the carriage.

Quasimodo was refreshed, and hurried over to greet him, saying in surprise:

"Master! Master, you are awake!"

The long eyelashes trembled slightly, and the girl slowly opened her sleepy eyes, with a dazed look and a little confusion.

Seeing Quasimodo's ugly and worried face, her sight gradually regained focus, and her delicate and lovely little face showed a sweet and innocent smile, and her crisp voice was very nice, like an angel:

"Oh! It's Quasimodo..."

"Are we home now?"

Nice:...
