Mage Joan

Chapter 915 The Missed Spell

When Joan heard Mrs. Josephine's distress, she felt a little complicated.

As a mage profession, you can copy advanced spell scrolls that you can't master at the moment, but you don't have the corresponding spell slots available. You can only imagine yourself as a "squirrel", storing food in advance for the distant winter.

The troubles of the warlock profession are just the opposite of the wizard. Even if you get a higher-level spell slot through meditation practice, there may not be spells corresponding to the number of rings available. The spell that the spell slot matches.

Now Lady Josephine need not worry.

Because Joan took her blood as a sample, and among all the spells that she deciphered, there was a 7th-ring spell—worms all over the sky!

"Insect Erosion" is an upgraded version of the 5th ring "Plague Swarm", which can summon giant swarms of insect creatures. In connection with the characteristics of Mrs. Josephine's insect blood, what is summoned is likely to be a large group of giant mosquitoes.

At first, Joan didn't pay much attention to the "worm-eaten sky", after all, the 7-ring spell was too far away from him.

However, when he inadvertently told this to Mrs. Josephine, the other party jumped up from the armchair in surprise.

"Joan, are you kidding me?"

"I don't even know what 7th-level spells I can learn. How can you be sure that there must be 'Infested Worms' among them?"

Facing Mrs. Josephine's astonished question, Joan shrugged helplessly, and turned to point to the golden rune in the blood cloud that represented "Insect Erosion".

"Because the spell configuration of 'Corrupted Worms' is right here, can't you see it?"

Madam Josephine was silent for a long time before she spoke slowly.

"I can see many golden runes in the blood-colored cloud, but I can't understand the meaning of the complex texture and structure inside the runes."

After hearing what she said, Joan suddenly realized that the biggest difference between a "warlock" and a "magician" was that the former lacked sufficient knowledge accumulation and could not understand spell configurations.

"Mythical blood interpretation" combined with the No. 4 rune can reveal the undeveloped spells in the warlock's blood in advance, which is not surprising to Joan.

When he experimented with his own blood, he discovered that with this method, he could decipher which spells a warlock might awaken at least one level in advance.

What happened to Mrs. Josephine today only proved once again the forward-looking approach.

What Joan was more concerned about was that Mrs. Josephine didn't have enough understanding of her own warlock blood. After each upgrade, she had to explore new spells by herself, as if walking alone in the dark night, without street lights, and without road signs. Time can only rely on luck and continuous trial and error.

This way of developing blood power is really not efficient, and it is inevitable to miss a lot of spells that could have been developed.

Take Mrs. Josephine as an example, since she didn't even know that she could develop "Insect Erosion", doesn't it mean... She may have missed some 1st to 6th level spells during her previous practice?

In order to verify this concern, Joan opened the experiment log, and copied the names of all 54 spells he deciphered from Mrs. Josephine's blood sample in order from ring 1 to ring 7, and made a concise sheet the table of contents, and handed it to her.

"Take a look, which of the spells on this list you haven't mastered yet."

Mrs. Josephine nodded, took the catalog and looked at it intently, her eyes flickering, revealing an unconcealable shock.

"'Dominate Bugs', 'Giant Bugs', 'Keep Pests Away', 'Plague Bugs', and 'Flesh Bugs', plus a 'Bloods Overwhelming'... Joan, are you sure about this?" Six spells... can I learn all of them?"

Mrs. Josephine asked the young mage worried about gain and loss.

"Of course, it can be seen from the name that these spells are closely related to your worm-like blood. It's a pity that you haven't conducted special excavations for these spells before, so you missed them."

Joan told the truth.

"Before today, no one told me which spells I could learn, and I didn't know which direction to work hard. I could only fumble around on my own. Until you gave me this spell catalog, my feeling at the moment... …Like a blind man, his eyes suddenly regained his light, and he almost suspected that he was dreaming!"

Madame Josephine took a deep breath, and the uncontrollable excitement brought tears to her eyes.

"Joan, thank you for helping me see my potential clearly, but this is not enough, please tell me now, is this a dream that can be fulfilled, or a nightmare that is destined to be irreparable."

Joan scratched her head and pondered for a while before she vaguely guessed what she meant.

"Are you asking me, can these missed spells be redeveloped?"

Madam Josephine nodded with a smile, her eyes full of expectation.

"Well... If you are a mage, things will be simple. Just copy down all the configurations of these spells and study them slowly when you go back."

"I'm uneducated, I can't understand the spell configuration, I can't learn it!"

The countess stomped her feet coquettishly, looking eager, like a little girl eager to get a new toy, which was in sharp contrast to her usual elegant and graceful demeanor.

Joan couldn't help but laugh when he saw it.

"Don't worry, since the mage's learning method doesn't apply to you, you might as well try another method—your warlock's method."

The practice method of a warlock is divided into two links.

The first link is spiritual meditation. Use specific meditation techniques to gather your own spiritual power into probes, explore the magic net deeply, and reach a certain level, and you will get higher-level spell slots.

This link is exactly the same as the meditative practice of a mage.

In other words, on the issue of "how to obtain spell slots", the path of practice chosen by a warlock and a mage is exactly the same.

How to use the spell slots obtained through meditation?

The mage's method is to copy a new spell, and then gradually master this spell through learning and practice until it can be used freely; then learn another spell, and improve one's spell-casting ability by continuously learning new spells.

From here on, warlocks embarked on a completely different path from mages.

The channel for warlocks to learn new spells is not to copy scrolls, but to develop their own blood potential.

There are many ways to develop the potential of the bloodline, one of the mainstream is to take or inject various alchemy potions, and try to activate the magical configurations in the body that are derived from innate inheritance.

The components of these medicines are probably related to the Warlock's blood to some extent.
