There Will Be No Days Film Review
[There is no charge for this movie review. I wanted to write some thoughts after watching the movie. I didn’t expect to write almost 2,000 words, so I will post it here as a movie recommendation. Today’s update will be at night, and there will be no shortage. 】
After watching the whole movie, in terms of the structure of the movie, I don't want to admit that it is a "movie" that conforms to the public's impression.
In this day and age, the movies that people are familiar with are basically the Hollywood ones. In terms of structure, most of them can be summed up by "three-act structure" or similar terms-in other words, it is "routine", It looks similar to today's web articles, such as divorce, pretending to be slapped in the face, etc. Everyone has figured out the structure, so just write along.
Personally, the best movie I have seen this year is "Edge of Tomorrow". In terms of drama and commercialization, its standard is very high, tight and dense plot shots, suspense until the end, and then, everyone is happy.
However, after watching "There Will Be No Period", my feeling is completely opposite.
After watching the movie, I stared at the screen in a daze. Some people complained on Weibo that the movie had no ending, or that the ending ended abruptly, but I didn’t feel that way—I felt like I was reading a novel. It's not a movie, because its structure, narrative, and plots from beginning to end are all Han Han's signature novel techniques, and this ending is also the same.
I can't write the answer to whether this movie is good or bad, but I can say that it is a successful movie that lives up to its central theme.
Movies are not called popcorn movies, and movies are not called movies because they have a romantic ending. These are all the rules and regulations in people's minds, which can't be counted. It's made, it's a movie, it's the director's work, you have to admit that.
In contrast, "Edge of Tomorrow" brought me the feeling of "clear, refreshing, and enjoyable", while "Afternoon" brought me "sense of loss", "sadness" and a kind of feeling that are hard to describe. Lingering loss.
Every author has his own style of writing, and every director has his own rhythm. The rhythm of "The Future" is not tight, but it is not loose. Its main line is actually irrelevant. After reading it, I feel that I remember it It's not the so-called jokes, golden sentences or certain details that are hyped up on Weibo. I feel that I have completely forgotten the plot in my mind. All I can remember is the sigh in my heart after the film is over.
The characters and their stories in the play are very simple, but they give me a sense of "reality" that is out of the ordinary, because life is like this. Hao Han (one of the male protagonists) believes that the spirit of adventure is everything he pursues. Mr. Jiang sticks to the old rules, Life is walking around under the domination of others. They embarked on the journey and encountered one "little thing" after another-I wanted to give examples, but I think those plots are not important. The important thing is that this is the "journey" ": Set foot on the road, meet strangers, do something that I have never done before, experience a short journey together, and then at the end of the journey,
There is no farewell farewell, and we will never see each other again from now on. this is the truth.
In my opinion, the journey of the two protagonists in the film is actually a microcosm of life. Haohan burned his home and left no way out. Teacher Jiang drifted with the crowd, but had his own firm goal. Some people said that they represented idealism and realism. The two extremes, in fact, I feel that they represent everyone: each of us has ideals, but we are vacillating between "compromising with reality", and no one is a pure communist.
The donkey friend they met on the road, A Lu, cheated the car away after gaining their trust. When seeing this scene, many people didn't understand...not that they didn't understand that A Lu was a liar, but why the director made the protagonist suffer so much. How miserable—he was unlucky enough, why should he be stabbed when he just trusted someone?
Because this is real life, not only strangers you meet on the journey, anyone you know and trust in your life may take everything from you when you are not far from your destination, without hesitation left you in the wilderness.
Even if he once really had a heart-to-heart relationship with you and really trusted you, so what?
There are many plots in the film that are discussed, they are either funny or rich in philosophy, but actually after watching the movie, I only have one feeling: all the funny is just to cover up the sadness behind it all - you can only laugh out loud Only in this way can we dispel the unspeakable depression in my heart.
In fact, I said "I cry when I smile when I smile", and I really feel this way watching this movie. Those who are still in school, or who haven't come out of their own world, criticize the film as incomprehensible, unstructured, and incomprehensible. In fact, as the liar Alu said, "You haven't even seen the world, where did you come from?" Regardless of age, I think anyone who has really embarked on a journey and has some experience will feel all these seemingly The irony behind the loose plot.
The second day after watching this movie, I still had some emotions brought by the movie lingering in my heart after I woke up. I don’t think it’s hypocritical. If a movie can make people feel like this, It has been successful in its own right.
At the end of the film, Mr. Jiang became the winner in life, took that Alaska back to the starting point of the journey, and achieved what Hao Han wanted to do back then...but Hao Han never appeared.
Where did Haohan go?
I remembered that in the middle of the movie, Hao Han and Mr. Jiang were sitting in the car. There was a passage in the broadcast: to the effect that there was a gentleman who raised four cats, but in fact he really wanted to have a dog. He talked a lot of nonsense , I was cut off by the radio host before I remembered the reason.
In the second half of the film, on the same radio station, this gentleman said that he finally gave away his four cats and raised a dog. The radio host said: What you do seems like a small step, but it is actually a giant leap in life.
The gentleman replied: Well, I am on the rooftop now. Then broadcast a busy tone - that's right. He committed suicide by jumping off a building.
At the very end of the film, a replay of a conversation between the two in the car, Hao Han said that the paragraph was quite long, to the effect: When parting, take one more look and say one more sentence, maybe the last one, the last sentence.
These seemingly unrelated things are actually the consistent style of Han Han's works. It sounds a little nonsensical and funny, but when I think of Hao Han who never showed up in the end, I think his final ending is like this guy who threw away the cat and tried to raise a dog. Like Mr. Dead.
When the frog was boiled in warm water, Hao Han covered the pot with a lid and said in a firm voice, "This is the reality". This is indeed the reality he knows - he has worked for many years, failed for many years, and was a loser from the beginning to the end of the film , he tried to take a step forward, but he always met with a cruel ending... This is also reality. In reality, there is no such thing as "I will succeed if I take a step forward" or "I will succeed as long as I work hard". In fact, the reality is cruel. The reason is that many people work hard, but in the end they are still losers.
This is true whether it is a relationship or a career.
This is a movie that makes me feel deeply, but my understanding is not necessarily the intention of the director, and the success of the movie lies in this. Its value is to make people reflect, not just laugh it off , My evaluation of "The Future Will Be Endless" is actually "cruel". It hides the knife under the surface of the funny plot. When you can't see it, you will laugh heartily. There was a wound. I don’t want to rate it. I suggest older friends to watch it. If you are still in school, there is no need to watch it, because you won’t feel too much after reading it. You will only feel "unintelligible".
