The Red Alert Begins in the Wasteland

Chapter 105: The Magic of the Base

Walking along the production line, Cai Ruichen felt that he had really opened up the world along the way.

This kind of world can also be seen here. I'm afraid no matter who it is, seeing the performance of these assembly lines, it will not be much better than him.

But the core of the chariot factory, this production line, is just a very ordinary part.

The production line for assembling modules, how to say, is just assembling parts of a vehicle together.

The chariot factory can produce a complete vehicle factory by itself without any outsourced parts production factory.

In the future, such an assembly line will not be used to assemble vehicles, but to assemble main battle tanks.

These parts and modules are all produced directly in the factory without any raw materials.

At least Cai Ruichen did not send a single screw to produce the fifteen rocket launchers above.

As the footsteps moved forward, Cai Ruichen's eyes were attracted by a tall equipment again.

Dazzling red laser rays irradiated from this device. On the ground, there was a pool ten meters by ten meters square.

The facing pool is filled with a viscous liquid, which looks like mud, but there are some differences, and the surface seems to have a metallic luster.

The laser beams transmitted from the above irradiation equipment are scattered and irradiated in this pool. In the calm pool, an object that looks like an engine is slowly emerging from these liquids.

3D printing - Stereoscopic modeling?

Cai Ruichen didn't know much about these high technologies, but the viscous liquid in the pool in front of him and the laser beam above it. It really does look like that.

Just looking at the rapidly prototyping engine in the pool in front of me. It's completely a metal object. Is it possible that light-cured three-dimensional modeling can already play a role in metal liquid?

This technology generally uses photosensitive resin as the raw material, and the ultraviolet laser under the control of the computer takes the outline of each layered section of the predetermined part as the trajectory, and scans the liquid resin point by point, from point to line to surface, so that the scanned area A thin layer of resin polymerizes to form a thin layer section of the part.

When one layer is cured. The lifting table moves a distance of one ply thickness, and a new layer of liquid resin is covered on the surface of the previously cured resin for scanning and curing of a new layer.

The newly cured layer is firmly bonded to the previous layer, and this is repeated until the entire part is prototyped.

The method is characterized by high precision, good surface quality, and nearly 100% utilization rate of raw materials, and can manufacture parts with particularly complex shapes and fine appearance.

But Cai Ruichen has never heard of it, and it is possible to directly print out a complete engine in this way.

But the fact was right in front of his eyes, what emerged from the pool was an engine.

Next to the pool there is a CNC monitor that nicely shows a simulation of the printing process.

The engine being printed is the power heart installed on the Gaia special car, in the numerical control display. The construction and printing process inside the engine are shown in detail.

What surprised Cai Ruichen the most was the whole printing work. Instead of printing out the parts of the engine and then doing additional assembly.

Instead, an engine, from the engine body, crankshaft and connecting rod mechanism, valve mechanism, lubrication system, cooling system, fuel supply system, (diesel engine does not have an ignition system) to the starting device, is printed in one go.

You must know that the materials in the engine are not all alloys or metals, but also other materials.

But the 3D printer of the chariot factory really printed a complete engine directly.

The engine produced in this way cannot be disassembled at all, and there is not a single screw visible on the whole body, and it is a whole that cannot be divided.

That is to say, even if a certain part inside is broken, it must be thrown away and replaced with a new engine.

The only way to disassemble this engine is to cut it directly with a cutting machine, but the engine will also be damaged.

Since the industrial revolution, there has not been such a technology, but Cai Ruichen sees it now.

Instead, it was shown in front of him in a very specific way.

Looking at the production records on the CNC monitor, Cai Ruichen discovered that the production process of the Gaia special car he just took was to print out various assembled modules here, and then assemble them on the production line.

Even those leather mounts, bulletproof windows... and all the electronic equipment in the car are all printed from here.

Can the printed leather seat still be called genuine leather? Electronic originals can also be printed?

Looking at the viscous liquid in the pool, he didn't know how to answer these questions.

Cai Ruichen has always known that the base is very strong, and he has never doubted it.

After all, there are many things in the base that science can't explain now, but he still doesn't have a very intuitive understanding of the magic of the base.

Today, Cai Ruichen has truly seen the powerful side of the base's technology. Whether it is the fully automated production line he just saw or this super-large modular production line, all of them have subverted his impression of technology and industry.

Not to mention, the source of the raw materials in the pool must be the base, but why the raw materials can be converted into parts of various materials, even if he wants to break his head, he can't figure it out.

On the other hand, the automated production line also has light-cured three-dimensional modeling. Although it looks very magical, it is not a disruptive technology.

After all, with the current technology, it is possible to realize such a technology sooner or later. After all, automated production is also evolving to a high degree of automation. After all, this is the ultimate expression of human industrial development.

And 3D printing technology is becoming more and more mature. Even Russia has shipped a 3D printer to Syria to produce consumed weapons and ammunition for the troops stationed there.

The truly magical place of the chariot factory should be the unknown materials in the pool.

"Base, what is the material in this pool?" Curious Cai Ruichen immediately asked the base through the console on his wrist.

"The things inside here come to the ore refining plant to transform various ores to obtain liquid materials." The base replied very simply.

"Then why haven't I seen these materials appear in the ore refining plant?" Cai Ruichen asked.

"The materials recovered by the ore refinery will be stored. After the commander chooses to produce weapons and equipment, these liquefied raw materials will be transported to the tank factory through the base, and then produced. In fact, a large part of the base's funds is the raw materials. Digitization, every change in funds, is evidence-based." Base replied. (To be continued..)
