Chapter 136 Freshman Sorting Ceremony
Selma Murphy uses her melancholy look to make a surprised and embarrassed expression, which makes her look a little sluggish and a bit like a sloth. Of course, it's the kind of sloth that has an outstanding appearance. Although this description is a bit strange, this is the first impression that pops up in Sean, Hermione and Harry's minds.
"Oh, it's just that Professor Babling likes to encourage students, that's all." She said unhurriedly.
Sean was immediately in awe. In his opinion, those who can learn ancient magic texts well are geniuses, and Professor Babling has always been famous for being strict.
"Is ancient magic text difficult?" He said hello and then asked seriously.
Thelma shook her head: "I don't think so - at least not to me."
Do all top academics talk like this? Sean, whose rune talent is only 2, expressed his doubts.
Thelma saw his expression, and the senior smiled slightly: "This may be related to my parents' profession. They are both archaeologists."
"Archaeologist? Cool!" Harry exclaimed, "My friend's brother is studying the pyramids in Egypt!"
"They are not wizards, they don't understand magic," Thelma explained. "Actually, I am Swedish. However, because Durmstrang does not accept wizards from Muggle families, I came to Hogwart." It’s too late.”
"What about Nurmengard?" Sean asked.
Selma said: "Due to family influence - I prefer Hogwarts with its historical heritage."
The carriage started to move, and the Thestral who rubbed his head against Sean looked back, as if to tell Sean to sit still.
"You can see the Thestrals too, right?" Thelma asked Sean.
Seeing Sean nod, she smiled, quite excited to meet someone of the same kind.
"Thestrals?" Hermione looked at the carriage shaft in confusion. In her opinion, it was still empty.
"Only people who have seen death can see thestrals," Sean explained. "This gives them an unlucky reputation. In fact, thestrals are very docile creatures."
Thelma nodded and added: "If you get the favor of the Thestrals, you can even ride them."
"Seen death?"
"There are always many surprises in life." Sean spread his hands.
A long line of carriages carried the students swaying and creaking across the gravel road. They soon passed the school gate, passed the winged boars on the stone pillars, and Hogwarts Castle. Getting closer.
They could vaguely see towering towers, with fiery red light coming from some windows.
The carriage stopped at the stone steps leading to the oak door. They still got out of the car. Sean touched the Thestral's bony back while Hermione and Harry looked at her strangely. In the eyes of others, Sean was serious. Touching the air with a warm smile on his face.
After bidding farewell to Thestrals and Thelma, they walked into the brightly lit auditorium. Hermione was still whispering along the way: "This is really not a prank, Sean?"
"Of course not, you can ask Professor Scamander." He happened to meet the eyes of Newt who had just sat down at the teacher's table, and then gave the latter a warm smile, although Sean had already made up his mind to Let's go find Professor Scamander to 'redress the blame' - at least get some environmental decorations that can be put into the ring.
The old students walked into the auditorium one by one, and the professors also walked out and took their seats. Sean noticed that Snape had taken his seat early, and then glanced at everyone with a dark look.
Sean was even a little excited, so excited that he felt a little regretful. All the electronic equipment in Hogwarts would malfunction. Otherwise, how interesting would it be to use a video recorder to record the changes in Snape's expression?
Of course, the dangerous idea of recording Snape's expression was just for his own entertainment. He didn't want to collapse on the entrance ceremony table - the reason was food poisoning.
Soon after, Dumbledore came out in his gorgeous robes and smiled as the students cheered. After he sat on the main seat, Professor McGonagall went to usher in the new students.
The timid, full of expectations and excitement, but also a little scared freshmen walked in. They were wearing robes and pointed hats. Many nervous little wizards adjusted their hats from time to time.
"This feels so amazing, even though we were the ones who were there last year." Hermione whispered in his ear.
Sean smiled and nodded. This is probably a common understanding among students all over the world. When facing new students, old students will always unconsciously bring a sense of superiority to their seniors. It has nothing to do with strength, but a feeling of familiarity with the school. With ease.
Sean saw Daisy and Ginny standing together. The two delicate and beautiful little girls attracted a lot of attention.
Probably because she informed him in advance, Daisy, who had always been timid and soft in front of him, was not so nervous. She would also comfort Ginny who was holding her robe tightly next to her from time to time.
Sean looked towards the teacher's desk and almost laughed.
Snape was shaking a goblet pretending not to care, but the banquet hadn't started yet, so the quilt was empty...
The old bat's gloomy eyes glanced in the direction of Daisy from time to time, seeming to make the students stand in awe of him like he often did before.
But the empty goblet was kind of funny.
Sean saw Snape's eyes turning and quickly lowered his head. He was afraid that he would laugh out loud and be cursed.
Professor McGonagall placed the Sorting Hat on a high stool.
After the Sorting Song, she picked up the parchment amid applause from the students.
"The people I read about came forward to do the sorting."
"Paris Abbott."
A tall girl ran over quickly, almost knocking over the high stool.
Ten seconds later, the Sorting Hat shouted: "Gryffindor!"
Amid cheers and applause, Paris Albert walked towards the long table of little lions with a blushing face.
"Soumaya Berger."
"Ravenclaw!"
The short and skinny boy became the first new student in Ravenclaw, and Sean and Hermione applauded enthusiastically.
There are slightly fewer freshmen this year than last year, probably only in their early eighties. I don’t know if there are fewer students or if some of them were taken away by Nurmengard.
The sorting ceremony went on in an orderly manner, and two boys spent more than five minutes on it. Finally, they both entered Gryffindor.
"Daisy Potter."
The pure little white flower ran to the high stool happily and nervously, and many boys secretly exclaimed in admiration.
Sean looked at the teacher's desk. Snape stretched his neck and glanced at Daisy casually, then quickly looked away and looked at the boys with louder voices.
