Mephisto opened his eyes, and for a moment it was almost difficult to tell whether the silver ceiling above his head was his dream or reality.

He sat up, took a moment to sort out the complicated thoughts in his head, and threw out all the unreal visions. He's used to these things the things in the dark are feeding him, but, anyway, they're trying to drag him into it.

But he refused.
