Chapter 2091: Feast of Gluttony 2
The Nikolayev Shipyard in Nikolayev is the largest shipyard in the Black Sea region and the only aircraft carrier construction and assembly plant in the Soviet era. Several aircraft carriers in the Soviet era, including the "Moscow", "Leningrad", "Kiev", "Minsk", "Novorossiysk", "Gorshkov" and "Kuznetsov", were all built here. One of the reasons why the Black Sea Shipyard was chosen as the production and assembly base for aircraft carriers is that there are many Ukrainian Nikolayev people in important positions related to shipbuilding in the Soviet Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry and other important positions in Moscow related to shipbuilding. They helped a lot in this matter. In addition, compared with St. Petersburg, which has a population of 4 million and is open to foreign tourists, the confidentiality work in Nikolayev, which is not open to the outside world, is easier, and the labor resources here are not a problem.
The Nikolayev Shipyard, also known as the Black Sea Shipyard, was founded in 1897 during the Tsarist Russia era. It is an old factory with a long history and a large scale, and now covers an area of nearly 2 million square meters. In the nearly 100 years since the factory was founded, more than 1,000 ships of various types, including heavy aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, etc., have been produced, and the maximum cargo ship that can be produced is 15,000 tons.
Since the construction of the first generation of aircraft carrier "Moscow" in 1960, the Nikolayev Shipyard has gradually accumulated rich production, process, technology and management experience, and the shipbuilding equipment has been greatly improved. Among them, the commissioning of the slipway is the most eye-catching. It is the most advanced comprehensive slipway system in Europe at that time. There is one large crane and two overhead gantry cranes, each 15 meters high and 900 tons each, which fully demonstrates the shipbuilding capacity and level of the Nikolayev Shipyard. At that time, the rhythm of aircraft carrier construction was relatively balanced, with an average of one aircraft carrier on the slipway every three years and one aircraft carrier launched every three years. Under normal circumstances, the factory can deliver one aircraft carrier every three years. The delivery and use of these aircraft carriers has strengthened the strength of the Soviet Navy.
By the 1970s, the Soviet Navy had developed into an ocean-going nuclear missile force that could compete with the navies of Western powers led by the United States. The employees of the Nikolayev Shipyard were extremely proud of this, and the construction of aircraft carriers also brought the factory into the most glorious period in its development history. At its peak, the factory had more than 25,000 employees, covering an area of 302 hectares, with a total length of 2,675 meters for outfitting docks, a total length of 29 kilometers for roads, a total length of 49 kilometers for railways, and a total of 2,100 cranes. There are two kindergartens that can accommodate 4,500 children to study and live. The factory's one workers' club and two cultural palaces are very vigorous and have a great influence in the entire city. The factory delivers an average of 500 to 600 houses each year. In 1988 alone, 26,000 square meters of housing were delivered and put into use, and a kindergarten that can accept 320 children was built.
Now that the Soviet Union has disintegrated, in order to obtain the equipment and workers of the Nikolayev Shipyard, the richest man Bao must show enough sincerity to come here in person; otherwise, he may not be able to compete with other forces!
In comparison, the shipbuilding industry in Fujairah is just starting now; there is a huge demand for ship engineers and technical workers.
In comparison, shipbuilding equipment is not so important; at least for the Black Cloud Group!
At this moment, Bao Zixuan is in the office of a legendary figure, negotiating for the full acceptance of the workers of the Nikolayev Shipyard!
In 1934, Makarov was born in the Port of Odessa, the Soviet Union's Ukrainian Republic. He was attracted by the ships coming in and out since he was a child and decided to devote himself to the shipbuilding industry. In 1958, Makarov entered the Black Sea Shipyard as he wished and served as the deputy director of the assembly workshop. Because of his outstanding work and always completing tasks ahead of schedule, he was known as the "time champion".
As the saying goes, "Heroes are made by the times." Makarov worked during the Cold War when the Soviet Union and the United States were competing fiercely for world hegemony. The Soviet leadership invested a lot of national strength to develop the navy that "planted the red flag all over the five oceans." The Black Sea Shipyard was full of military ship construction tasks every year. The most eye-catching of them was the "1143.5 Project", which is now the "Kuznetsov" and "Varyag" aircraft carriers.
However, to build large aircraft carriers, the Black Sea Shipyard must comprehensively transform the dock production facilities without affecting the existing production order of the factory. Faced with such a difficult task, the old factory director Gankevich thought of Makarov again.
In September 1976, Makarov was appointed chief engineer of the Black Sea Shipyard, with full responsibility for the transformation of the shipyard and the innovation of construction methods. The focus of the transformation is the No. 0 dock, which has the largest area in the factory. The "segmented assembly shipbuilding method" used in the past can only deliver the parts of the next ship to the dock after one ship is built and leaves, and then build it from scratch, which seriously restricts the improvement of production capacity.
Under Makarov's strong advocacy, the Soviet Shipbuilding Industry Ministry specially bought two overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of 900 tons produced by Finland's Kone Company for the Black Sea Shipyard. Their span not only covers the No. 0 dock, but also includes the newly built platform next to the dock. This platform covers an area of 18,000 square meters and has a carrying capacity equivalent to that of the dock. With these two super overhead cranes, the No. 0 dock with a dockside platform can produce modular components for large ships such as the "1143.5 Project" - that is, super-large shipbuilding components are transported back and forth by overhead cranes, which facilitates the implementation of streamlined production.
When the first aircraft carrier is assembled and launched, the lifting equipment with the overhead crane as the core can lift the assembled large components of the next aircraft carrier to the vacant position like a conveyor belt, saving a lot of construction time and significantly improving the efficiency of dock use.
In September 1979, Makarov was appointed as the director of the Black Sea Shipyard for his outstanding work ability. At this time, the work of building aircraft carriers at the Black Sea Shipyard also entered the fast lane, and Dock No. 0 became the busiest shipbuilding base in the Soviet Union and even in Europe.
According to Makarov's idea, the brand-new "large block shipbuilding method" was applied to the great cause of "streamlining the construction of aircraft carriers" at Dock No. 0. On February 22, 1983, the Black Sea Shipyard held a keel laying ceremony for the first generation of large aircraft carriers of the Soviet Navy, the first ship of the "1143.5 Project" "Tbilisi" at Dock No. 0.
When the "Tbilisi" project was progressing steadily, the Black Sea Shipyard built a platform with an area of 18,000 square meters next to the No. 0 dock. Its carrying capacity was equivalent to that of the dock. On this platform, the large hull sections of the "Ku" sister ship "Riga" were assembled at the same time. When the "Tbilisi" completed the dock assembly and launched in December 1985, the 24 super-large sections of the "Riga" had been assembled on the platform next to the dock, waiting for two Finnish cranes and dozens of gantry cranes to move them into the dock.
This is not the end. The docking seams between the sections of the "Riga" aircraft carrier are more than 500 meters long, but Makarov and other shipbuilding masters have considered it very carefully. The net size of the docking seams processed by theodolite measurement data in advance is accurate to 0.1 mm, so that after the sections are hoisted onto the dock one by one, the welders can connect the installation seams one by one step by step!
Makarov is extremely strict with his work and never allows any omissions. Because he knew every aspect of shipbuilding, he would never allow some leaders with poor skills to be in charge of design work. Even those cadres who were used to reading from the script and were not enterprising would be kicked out by him. When the "Riga" was built, the entire aircraft carrier had more than 3,500 cabins, all of which were filled with various equipment, cables and other systems. If you stay in each cabin for 1 minute, it will take 60 hours.
As the factory director, Makarov came to the office at 6 o'clock every morning, spent half an hour processing documents, and then summoned the workshop directors and construction engineers in the hangar to board the "Riga" and walk through the places that must always be under supervision. At around 8 o'clock, everyone held a more than ten-minute on-site meeting in the aircraft carrier hangar to review the problems or omissions found on the site, and whoever was responsible would be "scolded". Over time, the leaders of the factory called the route following the factory director's inspection "Makarov Avenue", which was full of meticulous rigor and loyalty to national tasks.
It can be said that Makarov is definitely a leading figure in the world of shipbuilding. If he can convince him to join the Black Cloud Group, then even if he only serves for ten years or even less, it will be a very cost-effective thing!
Bao, the richest man, is not determined to win, but he is still very confident. After all, the two are not strangers and have cooperated many times before. He still knows the character of Director Makarov very well!
Recently, he has been banned!
