Chapter 112: Attack in the Forest

"Captain! Judging from the traces of the undead retreat, they should be hiding in the forest in the south of Breeze County."

At night, after leaving enough rangers to guard Wana City, the ranger captain brought his adjutant to the other side of the bridge for reconnaissance.

They walked all the way from the location where the lightning train crashed, and finally chased to the railway crossing leading to the forest.

"It's here? Could it be that our previous encirclement and suppression of the bandits was too fierce, causing them to surrender to the Emerald Claw? No, no, no, ordinary people should not want to turn themselves into undead."

The ranger captain obviously didn't think that the attack of the Emerald Claw was to cover for others.

Frowning at the forest at night, he didn't dare to go deeper, but took his adjutant back to the place where the lightning train crashed.

Thanks to the material, the general frame of the lightning train was not damaged, but it was not something the two rangers could do to put it back on the track.

After confirming that there was indeed no breath of living people and corpses in the train, the two rangers returned to Wana City.

...

In the next few days, the Skeleton Knights did not launch another attack.

But the city of Vana did not think that the other side was retreating in the face of difficulties.

The attacks of the Emerald Claws were often crazy, and some villages even became dead places because of them.

After sending away the several detained cruise ships, the city hall allocated a batch of materials to Carl's factory and commissioned the production of new muskets and ammunition.

Considering that most of the rangers only had the knowledge level of the junior high school level in the previous life, Carl did not dare to make some too complicated structures for this batch of muskets.

The factory's assembly line was running at full capacity, and in less than a day, one hundred muskets with bayonets were completed.

There were slightly fewer bullets, but there were also several thousand rounds.

Because the special magazine connected to Alona's quiver had not yet been made, Carl asked the factory to make a large number of ordinary magazines so that the rangers could replace the ammunition in time.

But this is also much easier to use than the bow of an ordinary ranger. Pulling the bowstring is not an easy job.

"Thank you, Mr. Ryan. The City Hall will remember your contribution!"

After the weapons and ammunition were inspected, the druids and ranger leaders of the City Hall expressed their gratitude.

This sounded a bit like a perfunctory remark, but Carl's father was quite happy.

"It's okay! It's okay! It's all for Eruden!"

After receiving the reward and a big red flower, Ryan ran back to the factory to continue adjusting the production line.

At this point, things had nothing to do with minors like Carl.

But Lisanna couldn't hold on any longer to stay at home and do homework.

"Um~, please, brother Carl, take me out for some actual training! I feel like I can't find the feeling of firing!"

At Carl's home, Lisanna, who had just finished writing a test paper, hugged Hope and cried to Carl.

"Alas~, but the city is still under martial law. If we go out rashly..."

"But those cruise ships have been released. I feel that those skeleton knights will not be able to achieve anything~"

With a sweet ending, Lisanna started to act like a spoiled child.

Looking at Hope who was holding Lisanna in his arms, Carl was defeated.

"Then just take a circle outside the city gate and come back. Don't think of doing anything without asking for permission."

Carrying a backpack and various equipment, Carl left a note for his parents, and then took the two of them and drove out of the north city gate in his own carriage.

'The vehicle feels like a very spacious track. Although it is not as convenient as an airship, motorcycles, cat cars or tractors should still have a big market in Eruden! '

Just after driving the carriage out of the city gate, Carl was thinking about other businesses.

It's no wonder that he looks like he has fallen into the eyes of money. Making money is only one aspect. Carl actually wants to reproduce the things that are more familiar in his previous life through his own hands.

"Come on! Brother Carl, I'll give you some snacks!"

Just as he was lost in thought, Lisanna poked her head out of the back carriage and stuffed a snack into Carl's hand.

The carriage is good in this respect. Even if the driver is distracted, the old horse will not easily get into trouble.

It would be different if it were an ordinary motor vehicle.

"Don't come on! You are always so attentive for a purpose."

From childhood to adulthood, Carl has tasted all the coquettish skills and sugar-coated bullets that Lisanna is good at. If it weren't for Hope's face, he would not agree to this matter today.

Carl dislikes making trouble the most.

"Oh! Don't be like this! I just thought that the maple syrup in Hongye Township should be in production, and I want to buy some there..."

"Is it that simple?"

"It's that simple!"

"Okay, it's not far anyway."

Seeing that Lisanna didn't seem to be lying, Carl didn't keep spoiling the fun, and simply took the two to Hongye Township.

Hongye Township is the real hometown of Iris's family. Carl's grandfather has a farm here.

Carl often came here during holidays when he was a child.

Hongye Township is very close to Wana City, and it may even take less than half an hour to drive.

Soon, the three of them saw the outline of the village.

However, before the three of them approached, an arrow made of bones suddenly flew from the jungle beside the road.

Carl and Hope sensed the danger at the same time and responded very tacitly.

"Armor fusion!"

Instantly wearing power armor, Carl blocked the bone arrows and then climbed onto the roof of the carriage.

Hope installed bronze wooden arm armor and two chainsaws on his arms to guard against the next attack that could come at any time.

Lisanna, who was a little slow to react, controlled the horse and drove the carriage to continue moving towards Hongye Township.

"It's a bone arrow. It seems that the group of skeleton knights who disappeared seemed to have sneaked in from the Venern River, and we happened to run into them!"

With his body covered in power armor, Carl's voice could not be heard.

Raising his arm, he fired directly into the woods.

"Da Da Da..."

The bullets formed by magic flew into the jungle and left obvious scars on the tree trunks.

This was not only a counterattack, but also a warning to those who might come behind that a battle had taken place here not long ago, so they should be prepared.

It was not just Carl and his three men who drove the carriage out of the city.

But even so, Carl was still a little worried.

"Hope, you take Lisanna and keep going. I'll go to the woods to take a look!"

Relying on the power armor and the jet, Carl jumped off the carriage and flew into the forest.

Before Hope and the others could stop him, Carl had already flown into the woods.

"Swoosh!"

Another bone arrow flew over, but this time, a layer of dark green energy was attached to the arrow.

Dodging the arrow sideways, Carl activated the underwater breathing magic pattern, forming a magic bubble inside the helmet that could filter the air.

The next second, Carl leaned forward and ran wildly in the direction of the arrow.

The undead hiding in the forest saw that they had been exposed, so they drew out the bone sword and rode the skeleton warhorse to rush over.

"Ding!"

The power armor collided with the bone sword, and sparks actually lit up on the bone sword.

Carl stretched out his hand again, and the lightning hammer appeared.

While the two sides had not yet pulled away, he swung the hammer and hit the skeleton warhorse's head from bottom to top.

The skeleton warhorse, which was much larger than a normal horse, was knocked to the ground by this blow. The upgraded power armor fully exerted the effect of the 18-point strength attribute of a medium-sized creature.
