Chapter 1 I'm Destined to Be with You
Wuyang City is a major city in the eastern part of the Dayan Dynasty. Because it is located on a major transportation route, most of the merchants need to pass through here, so it is extremely prosperous.
The city is densely populated with restaurants and markets, and there are all kinds of women, some pure and some beautiful, walking through the streets, attracting the literati and poets who pass by here to look back frequently and feel that the trip is worthwhile.
In a well-known restaurant in the city, a Taoist priest and a teenage fat boy are sitting in a private room on the second floor. The table is full of various foods. The fat boy smiles while eating, and his hands are like butterflies flying around, grabbing the food and stuffing it into his mouth.
The Taoist priest opposite continued to look out the window with a wine glass, watching the beautiful women passing by downstairs and exclaiming "oh" and "ah" from time to time.
When the woman looked up, his face changed and he put on a calm and indifferent look of an immortal. His elegant and immortal temperament attracted the woman's eyes. He smiled and raised his glass to greet her, which made the woman blush. After returning the greeting, he left quickly.
Whenever he successfully "convinced" a woman, the Taoist priest would retract his head and snicker with a smug look in a place where no one could see him. He looked so mean that even hooligans would admire him.
After successfully "convincing" another woman, the Taoist priest took a sip of wine with a smug look on his face, looked at the fat man who was wolfing down the food opposite him, and mocked him.
"I say, little bastard, you are my apprentice after all, can you be more polite? Can't you learn to be a teacher?"
The fat man stopped and looked at the Taoist priest viciously.
"Stinky Taoist priest, do you think I am you? How many days have we not been in the city? Three days, three whole days! In these three days, I have only eaten two chicken legs, and I have not seen any other meat! I, Li Chuyi, am a human being, I want to eat meat, I am not a rabbit!!!"
Li Chuyi felt wronged. The Taoist priest opposite him was his master, who was usually very nice to him, but his brain was not normal, and he would do crazy things on a whim.
Just like this time, the two were originally in a small town in the south. After performing rituals for a local wealthy family, they had just earned some money and were ready to settle down there. As a result, the Taoist priest got crazy again and dragged Li Chuyi, who looked reluctant, to fly here for three whole days.
For three days, the two of them kept flying without stopping. Li Chuyi was unable to fly because of his insufficient cultivation, so he was helplessly tied with a rope by the Taoist priest and dragged all the way. After three whole days of wind, even the two chicken legs that he treasured were blown away halfway. Li Chuyi's anger can be imagined.
The Taoist priest was unmoved, pretending not to see Li Chuyi's angry fat face, and sighed softly.
"It's all my fault. When I picked you up, I shouldn't have simply named you Li Chuyi. I should have called you Li animal, Li foodie, which is in line with your nature. Alas, it's all my fault!"
As he said, he took a sip of wine with a sad face.
"You old man, you are an animal, you are a foodie! Don't forget that I have the same surname as you, and you scolding me is the same as scolding yourself!"
Li Chuyi certainly knew the origin of his name. He was an orphan who was abandoned in the wild shortly after he was born and happened to be picked up by a Taoist priest passing by. The Taoist priest's surname was Li, and that day happened to be the first day of the Chinese New Year, so the Taoist priest, who wanted to save trouble, directly gave him a very "meaningful" name - Li Chuyi.
Seeing that the Taoist priest was shaking his head and ignoring him, Li Chuyi rolled his eyes in anger.
"Stinky Taoist priest, just tell me, you flew like crazy for three days to come to this place, are you here to visit a building again?"
"This kid, how can you talk like that?" The Taoist priest's face became serious, "What do you mean by visiting a building? My master is full of righteousness and integrity. Look at my face, how upright I am. How could I do such a thing as visiting a building!"
"Sister Yan Zi from Hongxiu Building in Fanyang City, Sister Yu Er from Huaman Building in Linhuai City, Sister Chen, Yu, Luo, and Yan from Xiangmanhong Garden in Wangjia Town, and..." Li Chuyi counted them one by one with his fingers, and his face became darker and darker.
Snap!
A slap on Li Chuyi's head, the Taoist priest glanced at the waiter in the distance who seemed indifferent but had already pricked up his ears to eavesdrop, and his face became darker with anger.
"You little bastard, I raised you for nothing, you just want to ruin my reputation! I've told you so many times, I'm going to pray for the dead, do you understand? I'm doing good things, not spending my life like ordinary people!"
The Taoist priest deliberately spoke loudly, and his voice was just enough for the waiter in the distance to hear. Seeing the waiter turned his head away with a look of disbelief, the Taoist priest was so angry that his face twitched, but he had no choice but to stare at Li Chuyi who was revealing his past.
"If you can't argue with me, you will hit me, you unreasonable Taoist priest! Alas, the truth is often cruel!"
Li Chuyi rubbed his head with a face full of grievance. Seeing the Taoist priest looking at him fiercely, he quickly swallowed his rebuttal and asked, "Then what do you say you are here for?"
The Taoist priest's face turned serious and said, "I observed the stars at night, counted with my fingers, and calculated that this place is destined for us, so I hurried over to look for an opportunity."
"What opportunity?" Li Chuyi showed a curious look.
"I don't know." The Taoist took a sip of wine, his face was unfathomable, "Chance, chance, it will come when the time is right, how can I calculate it so clearly. Anyway, there is something here that is destined for us two!"
"I heard when I entered the city just now that a new Yanjuefang has opened in the city. I wonder if it's fate?" Li Chuyi asked out of the blue.
The Taoist priest was delighted when he heard this, but he immediately froze and remained serious, lowering his head and pretending to calculate.
"Well, it's fate, but it's not the main thing. If I have time, I can go and investigate."
Li Chuyi showed an expression of "as expected", and was seen by the Taoist priest. Not only did he pretend to hit him, but he even took out the thunder talisman, which scared him so much that he quickly turned his eyes and looked out the window.
"Master, Master, look at that sister, she's so beautiful!"
"Where is it? Well, it's really good, hehe, haha, oh, oh, look over here!"
The Taoist priest looked downstairs and saw a beautiful woman passing by. Seeing the woman looking at him, he quickly picked up the wine glass and sat upright, continuing his immortal and elegant demeanor, which made Li Chuyi curl his lips. The waiter in the distance even turned his back and spat.
"Bah, dog Taoist priest!"
After eating for a while, Li Chuyi suddenly remembered something. He turned his head and glanced at the waiter, and kicked the Taoist priest secretly under the table.
The Taoist priest, whose "refined mood" was ruined, turned back angrily, but saw Li Chuyi winking at him and whispering in a mosquito-like voice: "Master, you are a scholar of heaven and earth, and you have calculated everything from ancient times to the present. Can you calculate how much money we should spend on our meal today?"
"Meal money?"
The Taoist priest was stunned, and then his eyes widened, staring straight at Li Chuyi.
"No money?"
Li Chuyi nodded with a bitter face.
"Where's the money?" The Taoist frowned. "Didn't Ning'an City earn a lot of money from performing a ritual for the rich man Zhang? I remember correctly that there should be several hundred taels. How come it's all gone?"
"Tell me, did you hide it secretly again?" As he spoke, the Taoist looked at Li Chuyi suspiciously
"I'm hiding shit! I..."
Li Chuyi shouted angrily, and suddenly his heart jumped and remembered that he couldn't make a loud noise. He quickly turned his head to look at the waiter. Seeing that he was normal, he breathed a sigh of relief and lowered his voice to look at the Taoist angrily.
"I'm hiding shit! It was you who insisted on having a farewell banquet before leaving, and booked most of the Chunxiang Pavilion for a night of "supernatural salvation". How could the hundreds of taels of silver be left?!"
The Taoist looked a little embarrassed, and smiled awkwardly after a long time: "I was doing a good deed. I was afraid that after I left, no one would supernaturally save them. If they had any mishaps, it would be bad."
"So what do you say we should do now?" Li Chuyi pressed, secretly happy under his vicious expression. Following the Taoist priest since childhood, he was bullied by him all day long. It is very rare to see the Taoist priest being humiliated.
The Taoist priest pondered for a while, muttered a few words silently, and his face suddenly calmed down.
"Don't worry, everything is under the control of the master."
Smiling at Li Chuyi who looked surprised, the Taoist priest turned around and waved to the waiter, signaling him to come over.
The waiter thought they wanted to add more wine and food, so he hurried over with a smile on his face.
"Sir, what do you want me to do?"
The Taoist priest put on an immortal look, exuding an aura of transcendence, and looked at the waiter with a mysterious smile.
"This young man, do you want to succeed?"
"Huh?" The waiter looked confused and didn't understand what the Taoist priest meant.
The Taoist priest didn't care and still looked gentle.
"I mean, do you want to succeed? Do you want to be rich? Do you want to make a lot of money? Do you want to fly? Do you want to live forever?"
"Uh..." The waiter was completely confused by him, and Li Chuyi next to him rolled his eyes, knowing what his crazy master wanted to do.
Sure enough, the Taoist priest changed the topic and said with a smile: "I am a Taoist priest in the mortal world, wandering in the world, looking for people with whom I am destined to meet. Today, I am destined to meet you, and I can tell you about your divination and help you succeed in your life. How about it? Do you want to give it a try?"
"This..."
"Don't worry, I am a scholar of heaven and earth, and I know everything about astronomy and geography. If you don't believe me, ask my apprentice."
Pointing at Li Chuyi who nodded in cooperation, the Taoist priest continued: "See, right? My apprentice never lies. Do you want to calculate your fortune, marriage, career, or fortune? How about I tell you your horoscope? I am the only one in the world who can do this, and it is very accurate. What month were you born?"
The waiter looked at the Taoist priest with a blank expression.
"Hmm? Not satisfied with any of them? Oh, you want to learn the art of flying and hiding? Okay, no problem, look!"
The Taoist waved his hand, and suddenly a handful of books appeared in his hand. The pages of each book were worn out and full of vicissitudes. In the first few books, words such as "Nine Yang Magic", "Ten Directions Annihilation Method", "Thirty-Six Strategies of Sex Art", and "How to Become a Mighty Man" can be faintly seen.
"How about it, do you like it? If you like it, tell me, we are destined to be together, and I will give you a big discount!"
After a long time, the waiter asked hesitantly: "Sir, are you short of money and don't have money to pay the bill?"
"Haha, haha, well, hehe, that, it's not very well-off." The Taoist laughed awkwardly for a long time, and finally admitted it.
The waiter nodded without saying anything, stepped back a few steps and shouted downstairs: "Boss, someone is eating for free! Come quickly!"
"Hey, who is eating for free? I'm talking to you about business, don't shout nonsense!" The Taoist looked dissatisfied.
The waiter glared at him fiercely and continued to shout: "Boss, come quickly, this person is still a liar, come quickly!"
The Taoist looked dissatisfied, and just as he was about to explain a few more words, he was kicked by Li Chuyi on the opposite side.
"Eat quickly!"
After Li Chuyi finished speaking, he lowered his head and gobbled it up, grabbing the food and stuffing it into his stomach desperately.
"Alas, people's hearts are not as they used to be!"
With a sad face, he sighed and drank the wine in the glass. The Taoist lowered his head and followed Li Chuyi to gobble it up.
