This is a form that suddenly occurred to me. When describing wars before, I was always struggling over whether to focus on the characters or the war itself, and I often neglected one over the other. So for the first time, I opened this kind of documentary article that is completely based on describing wars to see if everyone likes it.

It is free, and I will see everyone's feedback. If everyone likes this type of supplement, I will thank you several times.

The Fourth Battle of Damocles Gulf

The war around Damocles Gulf was initially peaceful. The human and Tau forces were each in their own positions, confronting each other around the defense line on the outskirts of the city. There were only sporadic exchanges of fire and small-scale exploratory attacks from time to time.

This process lasted for the next month until the human headquarters issued an order to concentrate and shrink. The troops originally stationed outside the city began to retreat urgently to the urban area. They were ordered to suppress the riots in the city.

What was unexpected was that when the human empire quelled the riots in the city, the Tau troops were calm. They were busy clearing and sweeping the human strongholds outside the city, and had no time to take care of the rebellion of the supporters in the city. As a result, after the Astra Militarum Command issued a retreat and contraction order, a large number of human troops withdrew to the city, and the rebellion was quickly suppressed.

After that, the war officially began. At first, everything was calm. The human soldiers squatted in the building for normal shift changes, lunch, and rest chats, but in the afternoon, the calm was broken.

The Tau artillery launched a series of large-scale artillery attacks, and the air force also carried out large-scale bombings as a prelude to the attack. At four o'clock in the afternoon of that day, the Tau infantry launched the first wave of attacks. They thought that the human defenders had been wiped out in the previous artillery fire, but they were wrong.

The human defenders immediately entered the position and launched a powerful counterattack. The battle between the two sides in the suburbs lasted until the next morning. The Tau people failed to break through the human defense line and paid a heavy price.

The captain of the Tau infantry recalled, "We launched three attacks, but the humans were never shaken. Our soldiers fell one by one, like wheat being harvested."

The Tau command discovered serious underestimation of the enemy and made adjustments. They urgently dispatched armored forces to attack from the west side of the city. The Tau armored forces broke through the first line of defense of the humans, but were stuck at the second line.

The Astra Militarum attacked from all sides, cutting off the connection between the Tau infantry and the armored forces. The Tau armored forces paid a heavy price to successfully break through. When they arrived at the position, there were less than three tanks left.

On the third day, the Tau continued to attack, and the human coalition continued to resist on the position. The exchange of fire between the two sides continued for several days. Both sides paid a huge price. Finally, on the seventh day, the Tau finally broke through the Astra Militarum's defense line in the south and entered the city, but at this moment, three days had passed since the scheduled breakthrough time.

After the Tau invaded the city, they thought victory was just around the corner. Their vanguard was only three kilometers away from the city's central square, and they thought the human defenders had collapsed. But soon, the Tau discovered their serious mistakes. Not only did the human troops not collapse, but they launched an orderly counterattack.

The Tau's spearhead seemed to be clamped by an iron clamp and could not be pulled out, forcing them to invest more troops in it. The city became a meat grinder, and the Tau paid a painful price for it. The human defenders emerged from all corners of the city and launched a counterattack against them.

The defenders used some important buildings as their bases and built a firepower network around them. They were all connected by underground passages. The defenders moved through them and attacked the Tau army that broke into the city from all directions.

The civilians in the city also formed several militia groups. They were deployed on various fronts as supplementary forces and played an important role.

Among them, the building called "Constantine Fortress" by the human side is the most representative. It is the focus of the Titanium's attack. It is an observation point on the high ground of the city. No matter which side it falls into, it will play an important role. The battle around it is particularly fierce.

The Titanium attacked the building six times and was pushed out by the human coalition six times. The two sides fought from day to night. The precise shooting was replaced by hand-to-hand combat. When the assault lasted until the third day, the Titanium could no longer support it and withdrew from the inner ring of the city.

The commander of the Titanium finally realized that it was impossible to win quickly and the war fell into a stalemate. In the following days, the Titanium launched a series of large-scale attacks. The two sides fought fiercely around the outer urban areas of the city. Soldiers from both sides fought in buildings and buildings. Often, the Titanium occupied the living room in the morning, and humans retreated to the kitchen to hold on, and took it back at night.

Such battles are common in cities. A Star Army sergeant recalled, "The company commander gave us submachine guns, grenades, shovels and bayonets. Most of the time, the latter are more useful."

Each of these street fighting teams consists of 16 infantrymen armed with submachine guns, a towed gun, and several Molotov cocktails, grenades, etc.

The human tactics were as follows: infantry artillery would first blast open the first floor of a building, and commandos would enter, throwing grenades and firing, flamethrowers would set the basement on fire, and in the building, commandos would already have blown open the ceiling and fired downwards from the attic.

As a result, every building was constantly fought over. Fierce hand-to-hand combat took place in the city, and both sides paid a heavy price, but the Titanium was the most victorious. In the street fighting in the city, heavy weapons were useless, and the horizontal bombing of the air force often had an error of one hundred meters, but the soldiers of both sides were often less than twenty meters apart, which completely made the air force useless.

In the ruins of the city, human snipers roamed around, looking for Titanium officers to shoot, which made the Titanium miserable. They called the battle in the city a rat war.

Faced with the stalemate in the city, General Qingquan of the Tau redeployed. He withdrew the useless tanks on the streets and re-deployed them to attack the more peaceful eastern industrial zone of the city. Here, they were blocked by the Astra Militarum Leman Russ tanks, which were also ordered by Commander Vito to be on high alert.

The human defenders invented a new tactic. They hid the tanks in the factory, leaving only the gun barrels exposed, and disguised them as debris in the ruins. They only opened fire when the Tau tanks approached. First, the Leman Russ would destroy the leading Tau tanks, and then destroy the last ones, leaving the Tau convoy on the street, and then destroy them one by one.

The immobile Tau armored forces became live targets, flames burned in the wreckage, and the eastern industrial zone turned into a sea of fire. In the south, the Tau, who made the earliest breakthrough, continued to invest troops and expand the results of the battle. One month after the street fighting began, the Tau had only advanced less than six kilometers, and every kilometer they advanced required an inestimable price.

The Tau slowly advanced along the streets and approached the riverside in the city. The Astra Militarum also deployed a large number of troops to counterattack. The bloody tug-of-war was staged in various buildings. At the most intense time, a building would change hands dozens of times in a day. Every time a building was captured, it became a major victory in the eyes of the Tau.

General Qingquan realized this time that he had seriously underestimated the resistance and combat effectiveness of humans. Persuading them to surrender was useless here, and it would only return bullets and shooting. After the second month of fighting, the Tau finally made progress after paying heavy casualties, and their vanguard troops finally arrived at the riverside.

According to the recollections of the officers of the vanguard, they could even see the golden glittering Sky Eagle statue on the top of the planetary government tower. The desire for victory rose again in the hearts of the Tau, and they decided to launch another assault.

The Tau army launched what was called the "One-week Offensive" along the river. After a week, the Tau did not even advance more than one kilometer. They ran into the 597th Valhalla Regiment led by Colonel Castin. The soldiers of the Ice Legion relied on the station opposite the railway bridge as a base to block the Tau's offensive.

On the fifth day of the offensive, the Tau had already suffered more than two thousand casualties in front of this station. They tried to use heavy artillery to flatten the station, but with little success. The defenders' flames still shot out from everywhere, intercepting the Tau. The empty space on the railway track in front of the station became a veritable death zone.

The Tau were unwilling to give up the results of the offensive, and immediately launched a new regiment to launch an attack. Under the cover of tanks, the Tau once broke into the station and occupied it, but at night, it was recaptured by the Ice Warriors.

Both sides suffered heavy casualties in this small place, but they were unwilling to give up their strongholds. They continuously invested troops. In the end, the human defenders successfully launched a pincer attack on both wings, forcing the Tau to retreat to the other side of the river. The Astra Militarum even launched a counterattack, led by the Markarian super-heavy tanks, and the Leman Russ tank company launched an assault along the factory area, which once drove the Tau in this area out of the city.

The Tau's week-long offensive failed to achieve any results and cost the lives of more than 20,000 soldiers. The two sides continued to confront each other across the river, while on the other side, the situation was not so optimistic.

In the central area of the city, General Qingquan concentrated all the Kroots in his hands, launched a large-scale offensive, and successfully broke through the central defense line of the Astra Militarum. The front of the troops approached the location of the central command of the Astra Militarum, and the situation was critical.

At this moment, the Mordian Iron Guard, who had just left the frontline battle and suffered heavy casualties, launched an interception at all costs. They launched a fierce hand-to-hand combat with the Kroots. The casualties of the entire regiment were reduced to only one platoon, but they finally delayed the offensive of the Tau and supported the arrival of reinforcements.

The acting commander of the Mordian Iron Guard died in the line of duty, and all the officers of the regiment died. The organization was disbanded afterwards, but their sacrifice brought results. As the reinforcements entered the position, the offensive of the Tau stagnated again.

The Tau would not give up the hard-won results, and continuously invested troops. The tug-of-war between the two sides is still going on.

I don't know what you think, and I look forward to your feedback. If you accept it, I will use this form more in the future.
