Warhammer: In the Name of the Emperor

Chapter 299 The Rise of the Primarch: Terra's Route

Cole stood behind the huge French window on the side of the bridge, looking at the starry sea outside. The captain had his hands behind his back, and the dark blue navy coat was still worn in a standard manner. The navy curved-blade saber worn on his waist was shining a little under the starlight.

No, the light was not starlight, but the propeller fire of a large transport ship passing by. Cole looked at the transport starship passing by. The hull was not as big as the Infinite Frontier. In fact, the ship was much smaller than the Mars-class battlecruiser, and its length from head to tail was only about one-fifth of the Infinite Frontier.

The orange-red flame flickered in the night sky, and Cole's blue eyes reflected the propeller that slid by. As the transport plane in front of him passed by, more transport ships around it were exposed to Cole's vision.

In the night sky, unarmed transport ships were sailing around Cole. He looked at the civilian transport ships through the French windows of the bridge. They were like a flock of sheep surrounding a sheepdog. The flashing thrusters pushed the ships carrying refugees from the edge of the solar system to keep up with the only armed warship that could protect them now.

"Someone else has joined the fleet?" Loken said as he walked over from behind Cole. The captain turned his head and nodded to the captain of the Moon Wolf, who also smiled and nodded to Cole. Loken naturally stood beside Cole and looked out the window with him at the transport fleet sailing with him.

Cole looked to the left at several ships on the edge of the fleet. They were two cargo ships, not used to transport people at all. There were only large warehouse cabins without any comfort guarantee.

But at this critical moment of life and death, comfort was not so important, so they were filled with refugees. Cole even heard that there were some noble solar system families. It was really a pity that they were willing to squeeze in a cold warehouse with a group of civilians.

"Yes, they came from the Europa Space Station on Saturn. They hid in the space station when the Death Guard attacked, and then escaped when the Death Guard paused the attack and began to retreat."

"The Death Guard stopped attacking? This doesn't sound like their style."

Loken said in surprise. In his impression, the Death Guard always gave absolute priority to the goal. In order to achieve the goal, they would accept any price, loss and the most cruel attack method, and would never stop before victory.

Their contempt for life led to the fact that even in the Great Crusade era, the Death Guard was not very popular with other legions, especially mortals.

So Vito transferred the Death Guard away from the expeditionary force during the expedition, away from other legions to attack various aliens, to fight those enemies who did not need to consider "human rights and humanity". It must be said that they did a good job. Their almost cold killing philosophy and their original master's obsession with virus weapons helped the empire annihilate countless alien enemies.

There is also their Primarch Mortarion. Loken still remembers that he had met Mortarion once. He vaguely remembered that it was a time when the Luna Wolves worked together with them to fight against a kind of alien. Loken still forgot what kind of alien it was, but he remembered very clearly the impression Mortarion gave him, that pale, cold look that made Loken's back cold.

"Yes, it is indeed strange, but that is the fact. The Death Guard suddenly stopped attacking and retreated, and those refugees took this opportunity to escape."

Cole looked in the direction of the refugee ship, and Loken also looked in that direction. Captain Cole held his chin and thought about it. He was silent for a while and then looked at the universe outside the window.

"In fact, it's more than that. Everything went too smoothly. I thought we would be attacked by the Chaos fleet on the way to Terra, or at least be intercepted and harassed by chance, but no, we haven't seen a single enemy ship for so long, as if Chaos has left the solar system."

"Maybe it was the Emperor's blessing that allowed us to break through the siege and almost reach Terra."

Cole was thinking, and Captain Gavier Loken also crossed his arms and thought about it, but just as the two were thinking about this problem, Eisenstein came up. The tall Imperial Fist warrior in yellow armor walked from the inside of the bridge. He was still so tall, and the starry sky and the propulsion flames outside the window shone on him, making his huge shadow extremely huge.

Eisenstein walked up to the two people and nodded to the captain and Captain Loken. The two of them also saluted the captain of the Imperial Fist. Eisenstein stood beside Loken and looked out the window. He looked left and right in the night sky and then looked at the two planets in front of the battleship.

Cole and Loken also followed Eisenstein's gaze. They looked at the two planets, one red and one brown, hanging in the night sky. From the perspective of the Infinite Frontier, they looked like a pair of dancers, hugging each other and dancing together in the orbit of the solar system.

Cole had never been to that planet, but he could recognize their names at a glance. Those names were known to everyone in the panorama of the empire, Mars and Terra.

The three of them looked at the throne world. They were very far away and could not actually see the appearance of the mother planet of human origin. It was like a vague light spot, flashing a holy light in the dark night sky. The sacred light from the golden throne shone in the dark night sky, bringing light and hope to the entire empire.

People always say that as long as Terra does not fall, human civilization will remain standing. Cole looked at the planet and now he knew why the veterans said so.

Eisenstein looked at Cole. The captain stared at Terra's eyes in a trance, and the twinkling lights of the twin stars were reflected in his blue eyes. "Have you been to Terra? Captain."

"No, never." Cole shook his head gently, but his eyes never left the planet. He stared at the home world, the place where all humans can truly become home together.

"But I always imagine what it looks like. When I was a child, I looked up at the stars and looked for its location. My father told me many stories about Terra. I imagined what the throne looked like, what our origin planet looked like, just like all humans have sketched the mother of our civilization in their minds."

"And you will see her soon, the throne world, the father and mother of all humans." Eisenstein said, glancing at Loken with his peripheral vision. He also looked at the planet, his blue-green eyes like lake water staring at the planet. Loken walked to the window silently and gently placed his hand on the glass.

Eisenstein looked at the trance-like Loken and was silent for a moment, "You haven't been there either, right, Captain?"

"Well, never, but like Cole, I have always imagined what it looks like. Hindman once talked to me about Terra, and Calcas read me poems describing the throne."

Loken looked at the planet in a trance. He closed his eyes, exhaled a long breath, and slowly opened his eyes. His green lake-like eyes stared at the planet he fought for, and all the Space Marines and mortal soldiers had shed blood and sacrificed for it for thousands of years. Before death came, they looked up at the sky, longing to return to her beautiful home after death.

"I joined the Legion when I was young. I have fought for my whole life. I once doubted whether it was worth it for us to shed blood and sacrifice for her, but when I saw her, I knew that our sacrifice was meaningful."

"You will soon be able to step on her, brother, and step on our homeland." Eisenstein walked to Loken and pressed his shoulder and said. The captain of the Moon Wolf nodded sincerely to him to express his gratitude.

Cole also breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the two soldiers. He smiled in the direction of Terra, but suddenly Anna's voice sounded beside him.

"Captain, Vito is back." Anna walked from the inside of the bridge and shouted not far away. Cole immediately turned his head to look at Anna standing in the shadow and frowned slightly. "He's back? Faster than I thought. Where is he?"

"He's already in the hangar. I think you have to pick him up, right?" Anna said with her hands on her waist. The seductive waistline looked so perfect in the shadow, and the fiery red hair looked both psychedelic and unique in the faint light.

But obviously, the three men in front of her didn't notice the beauty. Space Marines were not interested in women, and Cole probably immediately focused on his work as usual.

"Captains." Cole looked at the two people around him and said. Eisenstein turned around and nodded to Cole affirmatively, "Come on, we have to meet the marshal, follow."

As he said that, Eisenstein stepped past Anna. The tall giant walked past the beautiful first mate with heavy steps. Loken followed closely and walked past from the other side. Anna put one hand on her waist and smiled at Cole who was walking over. The latter cleared his throat and nodded to Anna seriously before walking over.

Anna glanced at Cole who was walking away quickly and sighed helplessly. She waved her hand and walked towards the bridge control area. The female first mate with flaming red hair looked at Terra in the night sky, that beautiful planet. Maybe there was a place on it where Cole would be willing to stay for a while? For example, the Hall of Honor?

Cole followed Eisenstein and Locke to the hangar deck. Not only did Cole know this ship, but the two captains were also familiar with this route. It didn't take them a while to get to the deck at the fastest speed.

Eisenstein and Locke walked onto the deck. Bell, who had already arrived here, turned his head and looked at the two of them. He nodded to the two captains, and the two walked to his side and watched the descending silver Skyhawk with him.

Cole also walked among them. The captain's hair and the end of his military coat swayed at the vector nozzle of the Skyhawk. He looked at the exquisite shuttle that slowly fell from mid-air. The light in the hangar shone on its surface, flickering like silver water droplets.

The Skyhawk slowly landed, and the flame at the end of the vector nozzle burned on the deck. With the huge amount of airflow spreading around, its landing gear fell to the ground. As the heavy landing gear slowly lifted up after landing, the Skyhawk also landed completely on the ground.

Eisenstein's eyes watched the hatch that slowly fell down. A door fell from the completely smooth silver fuselage without any signs of gaps. The landing hatch slowly dropped to the ground, and a person walked down from it with a crisp jingle.

"Hello everyone, have you eaten?" Vito came down from above, rubbing his neck, and asked a question that was not surprising at all, which was very outrageous in this scene and at this time.

"Vito, do you think your question is a bit stupid when we break out from the edge of the solar system and may be attacked by Chaos at any time?" Cole asked with his arms crossed speechlessly, while Vito shrugged. It doesn't matter.

"Then what do you think I should ask? You are still alive, and there are quite a few refugee fleets outside. Doesn't this prove that I have nothing to ask?"

"Besides, I guess the Chaos Fleet should withdraw to its outer positions in the solar system for the time being. We can go to Terra like a tourist without any hesitation."

Vito said and walked off the Aquila. He stood at the door of the cabin and stretched. Although he looked relaxed and seemed to have gone for a walk in the park, Bell was still keenly aware of something. He looked Eye Skyhawk.

"You repelled the main Chaos fleet, right? That's why we didn't encounter any Chaos enemy ships. And because of the heavy losses, Abaddon urgently withdrew all fleets from the battlefield to avoid encountering you again."

Bell said, several people looked at each other and then looked at Vito. Bell frowned and looked at Vito, slightly lowering his head, "How did you do it? Against an entire fleet? Or should I ask, you What exactly was found on the ocean floor of Europa?”

Vito raised his arms and was still stretching. He watched Bell remain silent for a moment and then glanced at Omega and Call who were walking on the side. The latter's huge footsteps when moving were quite eye-catching.

"Believe me, Bell, it's better that you don't know about that thing, at least for the time being." Vito said softly and put down his arm, but this answer obviously did not satisfy Bell, but he was loved just as he was about to ask something more. Sunstein raised his arms to stop him, and the Imperial Fists Captain looked at Vito.

"Where are your orders? Marshal, what should we do now?"

"To Terra, but before that, we have to go to Mars first and send our octopus friends back to their happy home. They are on Mars and there is still a lot to do."

Vito said and pointed at Omega and Call who were walking on the side. Cole and several Space Marines looked aside, while Vito walked up and patted Cole on the shoulder, "Set the course. Mars, in addition to sending them there, I guess Infinite Frontier also needs to replenish its ammunition, right?"

Cole watched Vito hesitate for a moment and then nodded. Vito laughed, patted his shoulder and walked past. He walked towards the exit of the hangar, and gestured to Cole as he passed by. Giving a thumbs up, the latter looked at Vito and laughed with a strange electronic laugh.

Cole and the three Space Marines turned to look at Vito who was walking away. Captain Cole and Eisenstein looked at each other and shouted at Vito in surprise, "Then what are you going to do now?"

"Eat, I haven't eaten a morsel of food since yesterday morning. I'm starved to death." Vito said and walked into the corridor outside the deck. His figure quickly disappeared in it. After he left, Cole and Cole Several Astartes looked at each other and shrugged.
