Chapter 229: The Rise of the Primarch: The Galactic Pursuit
Terra Standard Year M41K.999
Ultramar/Ultramar/Sotha Galaxy Outer
The tranquil cosmic background has existed for tens of thousands of years. This land of billions of stars has existed since the birth of the Milky Way. The countless lights represent countless galaxies with star systems. As early as the ancient times of ignorance, humans have looked up at the stars and fantasized about life on them, which has been done now.
Those stars, each shining star represents a galaxy, representing countless planets that may be inhabited by humans. That starry sky is almost a miniature portrait of the entire empire, representing all the human populations scattered among the stars today.
But at this moment in the empire, if nothing is done, those shining stars may not be far from extinguishing, because now is the end of 41 millennia, and the destruction storm has arrived among the stars with the black expedition fleet of those traitors.
The same is true in the Macragge sector. A damaged Imperial cruiser slid through the no-man's-land with flames burning. The surface of this once magnificent warship is now covered with scars from bombardment. The cracked gaps in the damaged buildings spewed out blazing flames. The broken church on the back of the ship turned into a shattered wreckage of Gothic architecture, extending dozens of kilometers behind the warship.
The black armor on the side of the ship has been completely destroyed, and the weapon launch arrays are broken and bent at the small and medium-sized gun muzzles. Even the thrusters at the tail of the warship began to flicker dimly, as if they were about to be completely shut down at any time.
The gushing flames illuminated the Imperial Star Eagle logo on the bow of the warship, and also lit up the name of the warship spelled in gorgeous Gothic fonts below, "Faith Sacrifice". In a sense, they are indeed about to be buried for their beliefs.
The severely damaged Imperial warship was like a beaten man, stumbling forward and fleeing in the galaxy, and behind him, two scarlet warships sailed across the galaxy dial. The churches on the tops of the two ships, which once symbolized the faith of the Empire, now stood Chaos enemy ships with Chaos eight-pointed stars.
Two scarlet Word Bearers warships were chasing behind them, and the sharp bows were like a sharp blade that cut through the curtain of starlight. Several covers were opened one by one, and the destruction torpedoes with flashing guidance beams roared out of the launch tubes, hitting the Faith Sacrifice with a flashing light like the stars in the background.
A huge explosion swept from the top of the warship, and the dim void shield that was almost like a candle in the wind saved the warship again. The fire of destruction was blocked outside the ship by the void shield, but judging from the dim shield surface that kept flashing intermittently, it would not last long.
The macro cannons and frontal cannons of the Word Bearers warships ruthlessly bombarded the Faith Sacrifice. The dense artillery fire tore off a corner of the back half of the void shield, and a rotating macro cannon shell hit the back of the cruiser.
As the outer armor of the exploding warship was blown up, the corridor of the hull was instantly torn apart and vacuumed outward. The sailors and servitors running in the corridor were sucked into the vacuum, just like an open vacuum cleaner that ruthlessly swallowed up everyone in the side corridor.
The naval corporal tightly grasped an iron rod at the side of the corridor porch. His body was dragged in the air by the powerful attraction. He watched the iron rod he was holding begin to break the bolts, and the bolts flew out from the fixing buttons one by one, and the iron rod began to bend outward and lose its support point.
"Emperor bless you!" The corporal shouted and pulled himself forward with one arm. This pull-up was very difficult now. The vacuum attraction behind him made his body feel like it was filled with lead water, but the corporal still burst out amazing potential at the last moment of life and death.
His fingers kept swinging in the air, and he kept moving forward in the corridor mechanical equipment that was constantly sucked into the universe around him. As if the emperor bless you, he successfully pressed the red knob on the wall with the tip of his ring finger before the iron rod completely broke.
As the knob was pressed, the alarm sounded around with the scarlet light, and the heavy gate in the corridor began to slowly lower. As the bolt at the end of the heavy iron door completely matched and locked with the interface, the vacuum environment of death was also blocked at the other end of the door.
The young corporal fell face down on the ground. He supported the ground, turned around and lay on the ground gasping for breath. His heart was beating violently, and adrenaline was still secreted at a high frequency after escaping from the brink of death.
The corporal was lying on the ground, looking at the broken ceiling above his head. A violent explosion came from outside the wall. It was the explosion of another shell hitting the surface of the void shield. There was no time to stay here any longer. This was not a lucky moment of survival, but just a flash of life before death.
The corporal quickly got up and ran to the other end of the corridor. Endless explosions exploded outside the wall beside him. The corporal knew that his warship was in a very bad situation, but he had no idea how bad it would be if he fell to the ground.
He was lucky, because if he knew, he would fall into deep despair. The unfortunate person who knew this truth was Captain Bayek, the captain of the Faith Sacrifice, and he did fall into deep despair.
The captain looked at all the parts of the warship that were completely red in front of him. The power, weapon array, shield ability, jump engine and everything you can think of were on the verge of collapse. The alarms echoed in the bridge one after another, just like the death knell before death.
"Captain Bayek! The void shield is only 10% strong! We will break the shield after the last round of attacks!" The first mate shouted desperately below. He looked at the terminal screen in front of him, his terrified face illuminated by red light, and all around him were sailors screaming and cursing in despair.
"Shut up Hal! I can see it!" The captain cursed as another round hit the warship and exploded and hit the deputy's hand. He covered his abdomen and looked at the scarlet in front of him. The blood-like red completely engulfed everything, like a desperate frenzy that engulfed all thoughts.
And in the void outside the warship, one of the twin warships of the Word Bearers that was chasing them fired a dazzling light spear. The red light spear bombarded the end of the warship, and almost instantly pierced through the weak void shield. The light spear directly penetrated a corner of the propulsion array at the end of the Sacrifice.
The thruster nozzle on the lower right side exploded and shattered, and the plasma fire swept along with the explosion caused by the light spear. The scarlet and azure flames intertwined and surged through the entire end of the thruster.
"Report to the captain! Thruster No. 3 was destroyed! Thrusters 1, 2, 4, 5 and the main thruster all suffered additional damage! The reactor pipeline was broken, and we are about to lose power!" The young Mechanicus apprentice shouted in front of the operating screen. He had not undergone too many mechanical transformations and obviously still retained a considerable degree of human emotions.
Bayek looked at the young man in the red robe. He was surprised that such a young person could join the Mechanicus. He must be knowledgeable and promising, but it was a pity that he would probably die here.
His Mechanicus priest mentor had already returned to the original power. The priest was killed by the explosion when he went to the battleship energy pipeline damage control. The Word Bearers battleship chasing behind him hit a shell there, instantly blowing up the wall and killing everyone inside. The priest was also among the victims.
The Word Bearers were biting them from behind like a pack of hounds chasing a wounded and weakened stag. The crazy cultists seemed to be torturing them, bombarding the warships with shells and spears, enjoying the sense of accomplishment of devouring their prey.
Bayek slammed the handrail on one side in anger. He looked at the flying gunfire outside the window and cursed, "Emperor! If you can hear our prayers, send down your salvation."
Bayek lowered his head and said in despair. Suddenly, he heard the first mate shouting below, "Captain! Captain Bayek! A subspace portal appeared in front of us!"
The captain raised his head and looked outside the bridge. He did see a crack torn on the background of the physical universe. The chaotic mediation in the subspace was accompanied by psychic lightning.
Bayek closed his eyes as he looked at the crack. He sighed, "I think that's the third Chaos warship. We've been hunted, and they've had enough fun."
"Emperor, if this is your will, then I'm ready to go to the Golden Throne." Bayek said earnestly. The first mate below was not as desperate and depressed as he expected, but rather a kind of crazy ecstasy, like grabbing the last straw.
"Captain! It's not a Chaos warship! It's ours! The Imperial Navy!" The first mate shouted excitedly. He raised his head and looked forward. All the desperate sailors in the bridge raised their heads and looked at the crack from behind the French windows of the bridge.
The bow of a warship sailed out from the crack. From the chaotic vortex of the subspace, an Imperial Sky Eagle shining under the starlight broke through the clouds. The silver-white hull sailed out of the clouds of the subspace behind it. The huge Imperial Navy proudly sailed out of the subspace.
"Omnissia bless us! We are saved, it's a Mars-class battlecruiser!" the young Mechanic Apprentice shouted, he raised his arms and cheered like all mortals, everyone praised the Emperor loudly, and the hysterical shouting reached a climax with the final rush of the battleship.
Bayek watched the Mars-class battlecruiser sail out of the warp, and almost instantly countless torpedoes were fired, those flashing blue torpedoes roared out from the battleship's launch tubes, and rushed straight to the Word Bearers under the light of the storm in the warp.
The Word Bearers warship had no time to dodge at all. The suddenly appearing warship hit the front side of the twin warships with dense torpedoes. The surging explosion instantly obscured the entire field of vision of the two warships, making it completely impossible for them to see what the Imperial warship that suddenly broke into the battlefield was going to do.
Bayek could see it, and he and his sailors could see it, countless missiles flashing like a rainstorm from the upper side of the warship, those bombs drew a graceful arc in the void and hit the Word Bearers warship, and the void shield instantly began to flash brightly in the bombardment.
And then came the light spear attack, Bayek witnessed this extremely standard light spear bombardment, and almost perfectly grasped the shooting interval. The flashing blue-white light spear bombarded the void shield that had just been hit by missiles and torpedoes at the same time, and the energy was severely consumed and was still replenishing.
The void shield of the Word Bearers was instantly broken, and the Mars-class battlecruiser rushed over the top of the Funeral. The giant plasma thruster pulled out a huge and long light bridge outside the bridge. The plasma propulsion flame illuminated the entire bridge. Many people turned their heads to avoid the strong light to avoid being blinded.
Bayek raised his hands to block in front of him and looked up at the skylight on the dome of the bridge. The huge warship whizzed past the window. The powerful Nova Cannon at the end of the warship flashed like the sun, and then a shot was fired. The beam of light from the Nova Cannon pierced through a Word Bearers warship in the blink of an eye.
The Word Bearers warship, which lost the protection of the void shield, was completely penetrated from head to tail. Bright beams of light drilled out from the thruster nozzle at the end. As the light of the Nova shot into the depths of the dark universe, the entire Word Bearers warship began to explode and disintegrate.
The warship that exploded was instantly torn in half from the central axis. The scene was like a person's head being split open by a long sword and spurting out blood. The sky-high fire spurted out from the crack of the warship like blood. The last explosion instantly blew it into a large piece of debris in the universe.
The light spear of the nova cannon disappeared in an instant, and the last Word Bearers warship opened fire at the Mars-class warship with all its might. They used all their weapons, macro cannons, missiles, torpedoes and light spears, all of which were fired at the Mars-class, but after a rapid explosion, the Mars-class warship was completely unscathed.
The bright void shield still flickered around the hull, and it seemed that the void shield generator removed from the Raven Guard warship during the Great Crusade was quite effective.
The Mars-class warship rushed straight towards the last enemy ship. It suddenly turned from the front of the Word Bearers warship and rushed past it from its side. The warships of both sides were almost completely close together. With the decks of both sides very close, the Mars-class warship opened fire, and the broadside macro cannons fired at the enemy ship, and the whistling shells hit the Word Bearers warship almost face to face.
A violent explosion instantly exploded on the Word Bearers warship. The shattered hull was like a piece of cheese crumbling under the bombardment of the macro cannon. The church on the back of the ship also began to collapse in the explosion, but this was not the last blow. The Mars-class warship turned at the end of the Word Bearers warship after passing the Word Bearers warship.
The Mars-class warship suddenly turned at full power from the back of the Word Bearers warship. The auxiliary thrusters on the abdomen pierced through a long tongue of fire and turned the warship. The Mars-class warship, which was several kilometers long, completed the turn and passed by the other side of the Word Bearers warship.
The macro cannons that had been loaded on the other side fired in unison. The swift bombardment hit the left and right sides of the Word Bearers warship in one round. All the armor of the Word Bearers was shattered. The shells penetrated the broken armor layer and directly penetrated into the interior of the ship. The explosion then tore the entire Word Bearers warship from the inside of the ship.
The Word Bearers turned into an exploding fireball, and the Mars-class battlecruiser sailed out from the blazing flames. A holographic image suddenly appeared in front of Bayek as the crew of the Sacrifice hugged each other and cheered.
It was a captain who was younger than he had imagined. Was he the captain of that ship? He looked to be in his early thirties at best, but his record just now was comparable to those captains who were over a hundred years old.
The young captain looked at Bayek with his hands behind his back, "I am Captain Cole Markrian, and I come to Macragge in the name of Supreme Marshal Vito Constantine."
"Be prepared to report, the marshal wants to hear your briefing."
"Marshal? I don't understand, captain, what marshal?" Bayek asked in confusion, while Cole said with a serious face, "Supreme Marshal Vito Constantine wants to hear your report to the captain."
"You have ten minutes to prepare, don't let him down." He said coldly and turned off the holographic communication. Cole disappeared in an instant, leaving only the confused Batek.
Oh, well, it seems that our Captain Cole is still in the state. You know, the captains under the command of the Supreme Marshal are so domineering.
