Chapter 175 Son of Russ (Part 2)
All Fenris children have heard the story of the sky warriors. Those warriors came from among the stars, riding long ships that traveled through the sky, and died gloriously in countless battles that have been sung for thousands of generations, and their souls returned to the Hall of Valor.
Legend has it that the sky warriors' fortress is located at the end of the Rainbow Bridge, on the other side of the distant starry sky, where there is a huge fortress that has never been seen before. The sky warriors are here. It is the residence of the gods, the legendary Naheim.
When Ragnar walked up the stairs, from the long snow-covered stairs, he saw the huge fortress and the legendary residence of the gods.
The tall mountains soared into the sky, and the peaks on the top completely disappeared at the end of the observation of the eyes, breaking through the clouds and the sky. The children looked up at the unreachable peak in amazement.
"When I become a sky warrior, I must go to the top to see it!" Roman said proudly. He and the other children gathered together, and they followed the large team on the road leading to the residence of the gods.
There was a blizzard here, and everything was completely covered in snow. Ragnar looked at the burly giant wolf sculpture covered with snow. The lifelike ice wolf made the disheartened Ragnar couldn't help but respect it.
He didn't actually plan to become a sky warrior, but he didn't know what the point of staying in the tribe was. If he died, it wouldn't be a big deal, anyway, he still had no relatives.
Ragnar walked in the team of candidates. They followed the wolf priest into the gate of the place of the gods. Everyone walked into a huge square with a towering dome and countless burning candles and braziers.
The biggest one was the flame burning in front of the giant wolf statue in the center. The burly Fenris wolf overlooked the candidates who entered, and everyone was impressed by its majesty.
Ragnar and many candidates gathered in the square. He looked at the reliefs around him. Countless runes and Viking patterns decorated everything around, making this place look majestic and mysterious.
"Did you see it? Ragnar, you country bumpkin must have never seen such a temple." Roman raised his nose proudly, looking very exaggerated.
"I have seen it! I visited the Great Temple of the Almighty Father and offered sacrifices to the All-Father! You poor boy can probably only offer a rabbit, ahahahaha!"
Roman and his minions laughed, Ragnar looked at them coldly, then turned his head to look forward.
Roman was enraged, he walked up angrily, grabbed Ragnar's collar and made him look at him, "I heard poor boy, I'm tired of your ignoring, you arrogant idiot!"
"I am the son of a warrior! Show me your respect!" Roman roared, while Ragnar looked indifferent.
"We are all warriors here, Roman, you and I are no different." "What?!"
"Everyone, pay attention!" A deep voice shouted, and Ragnar looked over and saw a sky warrior walking up the steps in front of the huge flame wolf statue.
His clothes were very different from those of the wolf priest. He was wearing a hard armor carved with runes and finely crafted, and walked up with a giant battle axe in his hand.
The tall warrior knocked the end of the battle axe on the ground and looked up at the candidates in front of him, "I am Sven Bloodhowl. Some of you are highly anticipated by the wolf lord and the head wolf, so they sent me to receive you. Feel honored, little cubs!"
"Prick up your ears, I'm not as patient as the wolf priest, I'll only say it once!" Sven's voice drew the attention of everyone present.
A pair of eyes looked at Swain, who walked down the steps with a battle axe and came to the children, "You will all pass the Morkai Trial, which is what every Space Wolf warrior must go through."
"You will drink the wolf wine in it and leave the Wolf Fang. If you can find a way back here, you will be accepted as a real Space Wolf recruit."
Swain laughed and looked at the candidates in front of him.
"But if you don't, you will become the rations of the beasts, it's that simple."
"Do you understand?!"
"Understood!"
The candidates responded in unison, Swain took a step back and nodded to the priest beside him. The wolf priest took the wine glass from another priest brother who came with a wine glass.
"Who wants to try it first?" Swain asked.
Roman pushed Ragnar away, then strode forward, "I'll go first!"
"Very good, young man, you are brave."
The priest handed the wine glass to Roman. The huge wine glass made him drink very funny, as if he was a little wolf cub drinking milk.
Roman quickly drank the wolf blood wine. He took a step back and trembled all over. After a moment of silence, he raised his head. The priest nodded slightly and asked him to go to the room on the side.
Roman turned his head and looked at Ragnar proudly, then walked towards the room.
Sven sneered at him, then looked at the team of candidates in front of him, "Who is the next one?" he asked.
"You, yes, you, Ragnar Russ, come up." Sven pointed at Ragnar and shouted, his voice was very loud, as if he was afraid that Ragnar couldn't hear what he was saying.
The children around all looked at Ragnar. He sighed and pulled aside the child who was blocking his way and walked up. He walked to Sven and looked up at the tall sky warrior.
He looked at Ragnar with interest, showing his teeth, "Ah, you are Ragnar. It looks like him when you get closer."
"What?" Ragnar asked in confusion. Sven did not answer but stepped aside. The wolf priest handed over the wine glass.
Ragnar looked at the red liquid in the wine glass. The liquid looked like real blood. He raised his head and looked at Sven, "Is this really wine?"
"Don't ask. If you ask, it's made of vodka, just a little red!" He said with a smile.
Ragnar raised his eyebrows slightly and drank the wine without thinking too much.
The cold liquid slid down his tongue. It tasted a little sweet, but it became hot as soon as it entered his throat. A warmth quickly turned into a hot feeling.
Ragnar's whole body twitched. He stepped back several steps and gradually stood still. The burning sensation gradually faded. He took a breath and raised his head.
Sven smiled and pointed to the next convenience. Ragnar nodded slightly and walked there. Then the next candidate began to drink.
Ragnar walked to the room. He walked past the mural in front of the corridor. He looked at the mural on the wall. It was a brave warrior standing among wolves. A huge steel ship flew over his head. The warrior looked up at the stars in the distance and led the sky warriors to fight in all directions.
Ragnar looked at him and felt a little familiar, but before he could remember, a feeling of dizziness came to his mind. Ragnar fell forward and fainted on the ground.
Two huge shadows shrouded him, one of which was as huge as a mountain. The heavy metal iron feet stepped on the ground, and the ancient low voice came from under the metal body.
It was a dreadnought. An old warrior walked out from the dreadnought. He was wearing Terminator armor and had fur on his shoulders. He looked at Ragnar on the ground.
"The wolf blood reacted to him quickly, which means he also has wolf blood, just like us." The Terminator Giant said.
"Like him? Bjorn, I hope we are not mistaken."
"Yes, Logan, he looks exactly like the primarch." The old wolf Bjorn said slowly, "I still remember the day he left, the day he went to the warp."
"I remember he said he thought he had a son, but he never had the chance to confirm it."
"Then we may have proved to the primarch today that he did leave offspring, and the last of them is in front of us."
"Arrange him to go to the Mokai Trial as soon as possible, Logan, the Chapter will welcome the return of our brother, and then wake me up, I will witness his return with my own eyes."
