Chapter 341 The Contaminated Tomb
This is an abandoned cemetery.
A few clumps of yellow weeds are scattered among the broken tombstones. Occasionally, a gust of cold wind blows, and the grass leaves sway in the wind, silently telling the history that has been stagnant for thousands of years.
Lan Wu and his party did not encounter attacks from undead creatures again. According to Leah, this cemetery buried the history of Tristram. The descendants of Cain and other Horadric tribes have imposed permanent blessings on this place to prevent demons or unclean undead creatures from defiled this past history.
Coming to the tall tombstone in the center of the cemetery, Lan Wu rolled his eyes and glared at Leah who was floating aside. Didn't they say that the crown was buried under the tombstone? How come there are still tomb robbers in this Weeping Canyon that has been sealed for thousands of years?
There is a dark hole under the tombstone, enough for two people to drill in side by side. Looking out, I can't see the situation inside clearly, and I don't know how deep it is. At first glance, it looked like a robbery hole.
"Impossible." Leah was also confused by the scene in front of her, and she muttered absentmindedly: "My uncle and I buried the crown here with our own hands, and then joined forces with other tribesmen to seal the Weeping Canyon. How could someone come in and take the crown without breaking the seal? Was it my uncle? Or someone else?"
Lan Wu was helpless. It couldn't be easier to verify this situation. Just go down and check it out. Why bother thinking about it so much on the ground.
So Lan Wu called Gross and the other two, asked them to stay up there to guard against possible attacks, and walked towards the cave alone. Leah saw him walking towards the cave, came to her senses and quickly floated over. She also found it unbelievable that someone broke into the Weeping Canyon that had been sealed by the Horadrim for thousands of years, and had to go and check in person whether the crown had been stolen.
Jumping down the cave, Lan Wu was mentally prepared for a free fall. But what I didn't expect was that within less than two seconds of entering, my feet stepped on the ground. The ground was only three meters above the cave entrance. It was not a fatal fall.
"Liya, what's going on here?" Lan Wu looked up at the cave entrance above his head in surprise. But surprisingly, the cave entrance was dark and he couldn't see the scenery outside at all. Although the Weeping Canyon was gloomy and there was no sun, the light was sufficient, like rainy weather instead of night. It was only three meters high, so it was impossible that not even a little light could get in.
"The cave entrance seems to have been cast with space magic." Leah calmed down at this time, looked up at the cave entrance and explained seriously: "We should be in another independent space now, and we have lost contact with the Weeping Canyon."
"Can we get out of this cave?" Lan Wu retracted his gaze and moved it to Leah's face. The faint blue light emitted by the equipment's built-in illumination range attribute illuminated the surroundings, allowing him to see clearly. Leah's face was solemn.
"I don't know much about space magic." Leah floated to the cave entrance and tried to reach in. But unexpectedly, her hand seemed to touch an invisible barrier and was blocked at the entrance.
"Get out of the way, let me try." Lan Wu took out the legendary sword and tried to reach into the cave. Soon he felt a soft touch like rubber on the tip of the sword. He put away the legendary sword, smiled bitterly and shook his head. Damn it, I'm alone again.
Leah thought calmly for a moment, and then proposed uncertainly: "According to the nature of magic, space magic will not create a space out of thin air. Maybe there will be a way out in the depths of the cave."
Lan Wu shrugged his shoulders and walked directly to the depths of the cave. Expected result. According to the normal rules of the game, this is a small copy. There is nothing to say, you can find a way to leave after you get through it.
The cave is not wide, but it is not narrow either, enough for a person to walk upright freely. After walking about 20 meters, the front suddenly opened up, and a scene that surprised Lan Wu and Leah appeared.
This is a vast underground cave. The ground is more than 20 meters above the cave top. What surprised the two was that this was actually a large-scale tomb with clear traces of human intervention.
"Did you do this?" Lan Wu looked at Leah with a strange expression. This scale cannot be built in a day or two. It is comparable to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Site of the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum.
"No, this is not built by us." Leah looked solemn, and she wanted to say something several times, but she never spoke.
Lan Wu took in Leah's expression. Seeing that she was unwilling to say it, although he felt weird, he did not get to the bottom of it. From her expression, he knew that this tomb was definitely not made by her, Cain, and the survivors of Tristram. So he jumped down the hole that was nearly two meters above the ground and came down.
"Be careful." Leah floated down and suddenly reminded.
"Understood." Lan Wu nodded, raised his staff and summoned three zombie dogs. This skill of the witch doctor is quite good for exploring and guarding. After all, it is a dog, even if it becomes a zombie dog, it is still sensitive.
The three zombie dogs walked in front to lead the way, and Lan Wu followed closely behind. The witch doctor's other skill, the zombie charge, was ready early. This skill summons a ferocious zombie to charge at any target in front of it. The casting speed is fast, which is perfect for guarding against sneak attacks and quick counterattacks.
After walking a few hundred meters, Lan Wu saw a black shadow flashing in the corner in the distance. The light provided by the equipment's built-in illumination range attribute is actually not strong, and can only illuminate an area of about two meters. But he saw clearly that the black shadow was actually a demon child.
"Uh... didn't you say that the cemetery above has been blessed by Cain forever, so no demons or undead creatures will come in?" Lan Wu squinted.
"I don't know." Leah obviously saw the demon child, and murmured to herself like a lost soul. Although she was very reluctant to admit it, the facts were in front of her. The short, hideous black shadow was indeed a demon child.
Seeing Leah like this, Lan Wu couldn't bear it. After all, she was his personal secretary, and she was a very secretive one. He didn't say anything more, and commanded the three zombie dogs to chase.
Since there are demon children here, it proves that this place has become a nest of demons and undead creatures. Regardless of whether the crown was taken away by them, killing all the monsters in the tomb will always find the key to breaking the situation.
Soon a group of demon children rushed out of the darkness with a chattering sound. When they saw the three hideous zombie dogs, they retreated in fear like a conditioned reflex. But this is not the dungeon where the Skeleton King is. Lan Wu's goal was not just to scare away these demon children.
The witch doctor and magician's skills flew out from the top of their staffs like water, instantly killing a large number of demon children. Before the other demon children recovered from their panic, Lan Wu had already put on the legendary sword and rushed into the surviving demon children like a tank.
In just a few minutes, this group of more than a hundred demon children basically turned into cold corpses. Only a few lucky ones fled into the depths of the tomb in fear.
Lan Wu shook off the blood stains on the legendary sword, suddenly turned back and smiled bitterly: "We are in trouble now."
