The Evil God of Hogwarts

Chapter 328 Invisible Guard

The winding and slippery underground passage brought Xing Ze to a spacious cave. In the center of the cave was a stone table with various ritual utensils on it.

It seemed that this should be the temple, where the villagers held sacrificial ceremonies and worshipped the gods. The dim light of the luminous moss and lichens made the whole place look cold and gloomy.

A strange smell lingered in Xing Ze's nose, like fishy smell and raw eggs. The sticky and humid air was like a substance, tightly wrapped around him, making Xing Ze feel as if he was entangled by countless snakes.

The scarce air underground gave people some hallucinations. Xing Ze stopped and began to understand why this place was built like this. Whether it was the carvings, the luminous lichens seen everywhere, or the twisted and complex roads, they all affected people's minds invisibly.

Xing Ze took a few deep breaths to calm his brain. There was a fork in the temple and he needed to make a choice. Just when he decided to go to the right, the sound of footsteps made his heart tighten.

According to the direction of the sound, he quickly hid behind the stone table. The sound was getting closer and closer, and he knew something was walking into the temple.

The sound sounded very crisp, like a woman in high heels walking, but Xing Ze would not be stupid enough to think that a woman would appear here, and she was wearing high heels.

He waited, waiting for the sound to slowly approach, but for some reason, when it approached the stone table, the sound suddenly stopped.

The surroundings suddenly became very quiet. The other party stopped, why? Xing Ze thought, did he find me?

In any case, Xing Ze had smelled the pungent odor. He tightly grasped the wand in his hand and whispered the spell. The tapping sound suddenly came up, faster and more violent than before.

Xing Ze jumped forward instinctively, and the ritual items on the stone table were smashed to pieces by something. The sound of dingling and clanging echoed in the empty temple, but there was no trace of the enemy.

The magic that Xing Ze completed could only be shot at the stone table. The missile hit the table and exploded, but he was not sure whether it hit the opponent.

The invisible monster mentioned by Arbogast! Xing Ze immediately understood the opponent's origin. He did not dare to stay in the same place for too long, but quickly changed places.

Although he could not see the attacker, Xing Ze could rely on the sound to identify the approximate position of the monster, but not being able to see the opponent meant that it was difficult to predict its next move.

There was a splash in the puddle on the left hand side. Xing Ze turned around to avoid the opponent's attack, but because he could not see the opponent's body shape, he could not judge the range and direction of the attack, and his back immediately rang with a metal scraping sound.

The armor protection applied before blocked this attack. Xing Ze jumped forward, and the slippery ground almost made him fall.

He steadied his body and paid attention to the situation around him. When the demon ghost attacked, its figure would be briefly revealed. To be precise, a vague transparent humanoid outline appeared, and he needed to make good use of this.

The kicking sound rang again, this time from the right hand direction. Xing Ze did not dodge in panic. He narrowed his eyes, slowed his breathing, and the blue beak began to condense in his left hand.

The outline appeared. The first thing he saw was the body of the thing, and then the claws that grabbed him. A breath of moist air was sucked into his nose, and Xing Ze moved. The sharp blade transformed by his left hand quickly rose up, and the claws were completely cut off.

At the same time, his right hand stretched forward, and the magic stored in the blue beak was immediately activated. The scorching flames whistled out from his palm and instantly enveloped the invisible monster.

A breath of foul air was exhaled, and Xing Ze stepped forward and stabbed the sharp blade into the monster's chest before the other claw attacked.

Accompanied by an unpleasant roar, the pony-like monster fell to the ground with a bang, and the flames continued to burn. A burnt smell soon filled the temple.

Xing Ze retracted the sharp blade and wiped off the flames on his arm. He did not stay any longer, but quickly walked towards the passage where the demon appeared before.

There are guards patrolling here, which means there must be something on the other side. Xing Ze hoped that the end of the passage was where the investigators were imprisoned, but he might also encounter more demons. But no matter what, he needed to take a gamble.

Today, the goddess of luck seemed to be on his side. After walking out of the passage, Xing Ze saw the investigators locked in the cages and the yellow translucent cocoons hanging on the top of the cave. They were gently shaking in the mist sprayed from the holes on the top of the cave, and snake people could be seen floating in the foamy green liquid inside the cocoons.

Several of the brown and leathery cocoons had been opened, and they were empty. Xing Ze's heart sank, and he walked quickly to the iron cages and opened the iron door with his wand.

The first cage held Mike. When the big driver saw someone coming, he immediately kicked his hands and feet excitedly, and cursed.

"Calm down, Mike, it's me!" Xing Ze growled.

His voice stopped Mike from struggling, and the latter stared in surprise, "It's you? Damn, are you in the same group with these monsters?"

"Who are you talking to, Mike?" Lanny's voice came from a cage next to him.

"Of course not." Xing Ze gestured, "Come out now, we have to escape from this broken place before they seal the cave entrance."

"Hey, Mike, are you still there?" Lanny called again.

"What's wrong with Mike?" Selina's voice also rang, followed by Kent and Kelly.

"Go and shut them up, they'll attract the guards." Xing Ze ordered Mike who had climbed out of the cage, and then used his wand to open another cage.

Lanny climbed out of the cage hesitantly. The dim light made it difficult for him to see Xing Ze clearly for a moment. He asked in confusion, "Is that you, Mike?"

"It's me."

"Fuck."

"Is that what you want to say to your savior?" Xing Ze sneered, and ignored the confused detective, and continued to open the remaining cages.

This place is obviously an incubator, and those translucent cocoons are snake cubs. West's inference is correct. Normally hatched snakes are not placed in human bodies. At least in the early stages of the larval stage, these creatures need to be properly protected like this. Otherwise, the hatched individuals will most likely die quickly like the snake man in the hospital.

The last three cages held three unconscious people, and Xing Ze could see the snake man cubs twisting in their stomachs.

He finally understood why the record gang was trafficking people. Those healthy and disease-free people might be sent here to become containers for the incubation of snake people.

"These people are hopeless." Kent covered his abdomen and walked to Xing Ze, "I saw that they were implanted with larvae. Let's go quickly."

"Kent, are you going to believe him?" Lanny questioned.

The explorer exhaled and said, "What else, Lanny? Now as long as I can leave this hell alive, even if it's a demon, it doesn't matter."

Hearing him say this, Lanny didn't say anything more. Indeed, escaping from here is the most important thing now. As for other things, I can ask them slowly and carefully at that time.
