Chapter 32 Transfiguration
Although Lu Yunkai was not sure what Dumbledore meant by letting Quirrell continue to teach the Defense Against the Dark Arts course even though he knew the complicated relationship between Quirrell and Voldemort, this at least made Lu Yunkai understand that the wizarding world was not as incompatible with dark magic and the mysterious man as it seemed on the surface.
Even the leaders of dark magic and dark wizards would rather kill the innocent than let them go. Lu Yunkai believed that even if he was found out about the system, he would never let his life be in danger as the notebook said.
Although he had put his worries aside, he had completely given up the idea of using the system for the time being.
This might not be a bad thing for Lu Yunkai.
He listened to the lectures when he should listen to the lectures, slept when he should sleep, and practiced Agmanis and brain occlumency in his spare time, or went to the library to look up the properties of various potion materials, and then guessed the efficacy of the drugs in the potion formula that Daphne gave him.
Of course, more often, he chose to sit in front of the potion crucible, watching the things in the pot boil while talking to the classmates who came to chat with him.
He also became more and more like a peer.
Lu Yunkai thought that his first school year at Hogwarts would be spent in such a calm and peaceful time.
Everything seemed to be foreshadowing this.
The snow melted away from the branches, replaced by tender leaves and flowers, and then the flowers withered, and the leaves began to become lush, and time came to early summer.
The students of Hogwarts began to discuss the upcoming vacation and how they would enjoy and play.
This also included Lu Yunkai.
"Are you really not considering joining us in the summer vacation?"
Malfoy threw the candy into his mouth and handed a piece to Lu Yunkai who was cleaning the crucible.
"No!" After Lu Yunkai packed up his things, he smiled at Malfoy, "I'll go visit you if it's convenient for you after you come back from France."
"Okay!" Malfoy nodded with a little regret, "I also said I'd introduce you to my cousin, he's a potion expert."
"There will always be another chance." Lu Yunkai stood up with a smile, "Let's go, let's go have dinner."
"You go first! I have to wait for Goyle." Malfoy glanced up the stairs, a little helpless.
"Is Crabbe taking care of him?"
"Yeah. That useless guy can actually make himself like this in a Defense Against the Dark Arts class."
"Then I'll go first, I have something to do in the evening!" Lu Yunkai nodded.
"What's the matter?"
"Professor McGonagall is free tonight, I want to ask her about Agmanis." Lu Yunkai nodded, "I want to finish the first phase of the course before the summer vacation starts."
"You're really hardworking! You don't even rest on weekends!" Malfoy sighed speechlessly.
Lu Yunkai went back to the dormitory to get Agmanis's notes, and walked to the school hall alone to prepare for dinner.
From a distance, he saw Harry, Ron and Hermione gathered at the door of the hall, seemingly discussing something.
"Harry?"
Lu Yunkai took the initiative to walk up and greeted them.
"Oh! Yunkai!" Harry nodded to Lu Yunkai, "You... are here for dinner?"
"Yeah. You guys get busy!"
Lu Yunkai smiled and nodded, and walked into the hall.
In fact, Lu Yunkai saw that they seemed to have something to do, and originally planned to ask if he could help.
But just now he saw that Hermione secretly pulled Harry's hand when he was talking to him, and then the content of the conversation changed.
These three Gryffindor friends didn't seem to want to tell him what they were busy with.
So forget it! Lu Yunkai would not force it, and of course, he wouldn't mind.
After all, the bad relationship between Gryffindor and Slytherin is well known in Hogwarts. In the Quidditch match between the two colleges this afternoon, the players on both sides almost turned from playing to fighting...
Maybe what they are discussing is against Slytherin so it is inconvenient for him to know?
With this thought, Lu Yunkai calmly went into the auditorium to have dinner, and then came to Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration classroom as agreed.
Professor McGonagall was sitting on the podium correcting senior papers.
"Professor." Lu Yunkai greeted politely.
"Oh! You're here?" Professor McGonagall smiled and put down the pen in her hand, "Have you practiced on your own recently?"
"I reduced the frequency of practice as you requested." Seeing that Professor McGonagall went straight to the point, Lu Yunkai skipped the greetings and answered seriously: "And I also drank potions before each practice to prevent accidents."
"Well, very good. What are the results of practice?"
"I tried several different forms of Agmanis, but none of them were very ideal." Lu Yunkai opened his notebook, took a look and said, "The macaw has two heads, and the horse's ears are rabbit ears..."
"I suggest you try the animals you like more." McGonagall smiled and interrupted Lu Yunkai's report, "Generally speaking, we know more about the animals we like, and it is easier to succeed and have no flaws when we transform into their appearance."
"I tried cats first, but they have scorpion tails, which looks too strange." Lu Yunkai smiled helplessly.
"Do you want to try to transform into a cat again? Let me see where your problem is?"
"Okay." Lu Yunkai nodded and put down the notebook in his hand.
He took a bottle of metamorphosis inhibitor and drank it, then chanted the spell: "Agmanis!"
His body began to shrink rapidly, and soon turned into a beautiful tabby cat.
But as he just said, this is a tabby cat with a scorpion tail. No matter who looks at it, it is not a real animal.
"Well, there are indeed some problems." Professor McGonagall also put away her smile and looked at Lu Yunkai carefully. "Only the tail has a problem. It may be when casting the spell..."
Before Professor McGonagall finished speaking, the door of the classroom was suddenly pushed open.
Three figures rushed in.
Professor McGonagall was stunned.
"Professor McGonagall!! It's not good!!"
Harry, who was in the front, shouted loudly.
"...What are you doing?"
"Professor McGonagall! Snape! Snape is trying to steal something!"
"You'd better call him Professor Snape, and he won't steal anything." Professor McGonagall's face was cold.
"Professor, we know about the Philosopher's Stone. Snape wants to steal the Philosopher's Stone!" Harry continued.
Silence. Professor McGonagall seemed stunned for a moment.
"Professor, we have to inform Professor Dumbledore quickly! Snape is really planning to steal the Philosopher's Stone!"
"This is impossible! Professor Snape is also involved in protecting the Philosopher's Stone!"
"But, Professor..."
"Where did you know this?" Professor McGonagall asked seriously, "This matter is very confidential! When the headmaster comes back, I think you need to explain this to him."
"Professor Dumbledore is not in school?" Harry and the other three looked at each other, seeming a little surprised.
"He received an invitation letter from the Ministry of Magic and went to London." Professor McGonagall said coldly, "Okay, you guys go out!"
"...Yes." The three looked at each other and left the Transfiguration classroom.
And Lu Yunkai, who had been maintaining the scorpion cat form, finally turned back into a human.
"Sorry, professor, I didn't mean to hear about the Philosopher's Stone or something like that."
Lu Yunkai's expression was a little embarrassed.
"Don't tell anyone about this. But I believe you are not the kind of person who talks nonsense." Professor McGonagall glanced at Lu Yunkai, "Tonight's class can only end here."
"Okay." Lu Yunkai nodded quickly.
Then he picked up his notebook and ran out of Professor McGonagall's office.
"So the three-headed dog is guarding the Philosopher's Stone!" Lu Yunkai muttered as he walked to the lounge.
Immediately, it seemed that something hit his head.
Many fragmented pieces of information were strung together.
"Philosopher's Stone!! Damn it!! Quirrell!!"
Lu Yunkai finally understood.
...
