Game of Thrones: Wrath of the Sleeping Dragon

Chapter 69 Meeting the Sea King

As one of the most important administrative facilities in Braavos, the Neptune Hall is naturally exceptionally magnificent. The towering vaults and towers are all made of neatly cut square stone bars. The passages inside are complicated and complicated, leading to four gates.

It is now at the end of August in the 284th year of the Conquest Calendar, and the tail of midsummer has not completely subsided, but this Neptune Palace, which is entirely built of ashlar, is exceptionally cool.

There are no trees in the city of Braavos, but in the Neptune Palace, there are lush greenery, birds and flowers, and servants walk through the courtyard.

Viserys and Oberyn walked side by side in the half-open corridor of the Sea King's Hall, with a maid leading the way.

The Prince of Dorne looked left and right along the way, sometimes reaching out to touch the reliefs on the walls of the corridor and then nodding with his chin, as if he had a unique insight into the field of art.

Viserys, on the other hand, only looked at the place in front of him from beginning to end, not knowing what he was thinking.

The identities of the two seemed to be interchanged, Oberyn seemed to be a curious child, and Viserys became a silent adult.

"Prince Oberyn."

Tread

There were only the footsteps of three people in the corridor, and they climbed the stone steps that lingered upwards. There is some gloom and depression in the lack of sunlight.

And Viserys finally turned his head slightly and glanced at the man beside him, and then took the initiative to break the silence and said.

"Um."

Oberyn didn't turn his head to look at Viserys, his eyes still resting on the relief on the wall, which engraved the glorious history of Braavos from its founding to the present.

Braavos was never part of the Valyrian Freehold, but rather a city-state founded by refugees fleeing Valyrian enslavement around 500 years before Aegon's Landing.

At that time a Valyrian fleet of rowing slaves revolted and seized the fleet. Unable to resist the Valyrian dragons, this group of slaves tried their best to stay away from the Valyrian forces and fled north across the narrow sea.

Finally, the rebellious slaves were led by the Moonsingers to the archipelago, which is located in a saltwater lagoon, often hidden by thick fog.

This group of runaway slaves came from many different places and held a variety of beliefs, so the founders of Braavos gave all the gods a place and declared that they would never favor any one god.

They include the Andals, the Midsummer Isles, the Giscalis, the Nas, the Ibans, the Salor, and the indebted and criminal pure-blooded Valyrians.

Some of them were trained slave soldiers, some were bed slaves, cooks, grooms, butlers, and some were skilled craftsmen, carpenters, blacksmiths, masons, laborers, and fishermen, kitchen slaves, and so on.

The newly freed populace spoke many dialects, so their last master's accent, Valyrian, became their common language.

Oberyn was fascinated by the historical reliefs of Braavos' glory along the way, and Viserys frowned slightly, but continued.

"As far as I know. Prince Oberyn."

"Dorne now appears to be negotiating with the usurper who illegally occupies the Iron Throne."

Viserys didn't go around the corner, but asked directly.

Because he hoped to test out Dorn's true attitude from Oberyn, and to find a foundation for this negotiation.

And Oberon, who was rubbing his chin and beard and looking at the relief, heard Viserys' words, raised his eyebrows slightly, and finally turned his head to look at Viserys.

"You're right, little guy, but that's not what I meant."

Oberyn nodded. His dark eyes were deep, and his voice was unusually calm.

"I'm not going to negotiate with these people because I just want them to die."

Although Oberon's voice was calm, it made people feel goosebumps and felt a slight chill on the back of his neck.

"Is it."

When Viserys heard Oberyn's words, his eyes narrowed, but he was silent for a while before continuing to ask.

"Then I don't know if Prince Oberyn's connection through Braavos this time is just for yourself, or does Prince Doran mean the same thing?"

"Oh, that's a good question"

And Oberyn looked Viserys up and down, and seemed a little surprised that he was able to ask such a straight-to-the-point question.

However, while Viserys and Oberon were talking while walking, they had already been guided by the maid to the reception room of the Sea King's Palace.

A middle-aged man with dark hair and brown eyes was sitting on a chair reading a book.

The room was extra spacious, with sunlight streaming in from the window, a gorgeous grey rug on the floor, a large golden bed with a drapery around the edge, and bookcases by the walls filled with books from all over the world.

This Ferrego Antarion Sea King seems to like reading very much.

At this moment, footsteps sounded in the corridor, and there were shrill voices of speech, and the middle-aged man sitting on a chair reading a book raised his head slightly.

Then a knock was heard on the door.

"Please come in."

The middle-aged man sat on the chair and made a crease on the page, then slightly closed the book in his hand and said.

And the maid heard his voice and pushed open the door of the house and walked in.

"Lord Sea King, the guests are brought here."

The maid saluted Sea King slightly, the man nodded, and then the maid slowly retreated.

Viserys and Oberyn walked in.

As soon as Viserys walked into the room, he smelled a faint floral scent, but if he sniffed it carefully, he could smell that it seemed to be perfume.

"Um?"

Viserys wondered why there was so much perfume in this room, but he didn't ask directly.

Then I looked at the surrounding environment. This room is very spacious, with a large balcony with good lighting, a large golden bed and a bookcase. It is not like a living room but a bedroom.

"Welcome, two distinguished guests."

The middle-aged man sitting in front of the round table didn't stand up, just sat quietly on the chair, crossed his hands and then greeted politely.

This middle-aged man sitting in the chair is the current Sea King of Braavos, Ferrego Antarion.

"Dignified guests need not be surprised."

And Sea King seemed to notice the strange expression on Viserys' face, and then explained calmly.

"I have a serious illness and need to take a lot of medicinal soup every day."

"So the smell of herbs in the house is naturally covered by the smell of perfume."
