Chapter 143: Enemies in the Same Team
"You don't know how popular Pepper is in the company after she became me!"
Tony said to Su Heng and Gwen with resentment.
"Tony Stark's appearance, plus Pepper's excellent work ability, after the old guys on the board knew the truth, they actually called me and said that it would be good to let Pepper become Tony Stark!"
Su Heng and Gwen looked at each other, their eyes full of smiles.
To be honest, when Tony said this, they also felt that the directors on the board were right.
After all, in this aspect of the company's leadership, Pepper has always done much better than Tony.
"If it was just the ridicule of those old guys, it would be fine. After all, they have been rude for more than a day or two." Tony hammered the table angrily and pointed to Su Heng and Gwen at his face with Pepper on it.
"What annoys me the most is that because I turned into Pepper, Jarvis can't recognize me at all."
"Isn't this a problem?" Su Heng smiled: "After all, Jarvis is artificial intelligence. He must only recognize Tony Stark at the physiological level."
"This is a big problem, okay?" Tony muttered: "Because the authority I set for Pepper is one level lower than my own, now I can't call the armor at all. Do you know how painful this is for me?"
"Besides!" Tony hugged his head in pain: "I don't want to sleep with myself at night! That will definitely be my nightmare for the rest of my life!"
"So you must solve this problem today!"
"Indeed!" Gwen nodded with empathy, and looked at Su Heng with doubt in her eyes: "I don't trust that the manager won't do something he shouldn't do with my body when he rests at night."
"Don't look at things you shouldn't look at." Su Heng flicked Gwen's forehead and spread his hands to Tony, whose face was full of depression.
"Although I also want to help you, the problem now is that the substitute has replaced too many people. Now most areas of New York are filled with the magic of the substitute. If you want to find it, you may have to screen it one by one."
"Magic..." Gwen frowned in confusion.
"I am the store manager now, why can't I sense the magic that the store manager is talking about, nor can I feel the little guys that the store manager has conquered before?"
"This shows that you don't have the qualifications to become me." Su Heng smiled and blinked, and gently placed his hand on Gwen's shoulder.
A ray of light seemed to have noticed something at this moment, floating out from Gwen's shoulder and turning into the appearance of Ganpai.
"Hmm?" When Ganpai, who was summoned, just floated on Gwen's shoulder, his expression on his face looked very energetic.
But when she came back to her senses, the happy expression on her face suddenly froze, first looking at Su Heng (Gwen), and then looking at Gwen (Su Heng).
"Little guy!" Gwen looked at Ganpai's confused look, smiled and stretched out her hand to her, whispering: "Come here quickly."
Ganpai hesitated for a moment and chose to believe his perception. He wrinkled his nose at Su Heng (Gwen) and finally landed on Gwen's (Su Heng) shoulder.
"Damn it." Gwen pouted unwillingly and asked Su Heng who was teasing Ganpai with his fingers: "Does that mean that no matter what you become, these little guys will recognize you?"
"Of course." Su Heng nodded complacently: "This is the bond, little girl!"
"Tsk, you are the little girl." Gwen sat on the bar in a sullen mood.
"But speaking of it." Su Heng raised his eyebrows at Gwen: "You reminded me of something."
In Gwen's angry eyes, Su Heng jumped slightly and stuck to the ceiling.
"Although you didn't get my ability, I seem to have gotten yours." Su Heng hung upside down on the ceiling, his arms around his chest, and said to Gwen.
"Manager, you really deserve a beating!" Gwen gritted his teeth, and his fists were already clenched.
"You two are really enough, can you talk business!" Tony patted the table and said to Su Heng: "Su Heng, you just said that to find that guy, you need to screen one place after another."
"The situation is already very urgent, and you still have time to continue flirting here!"
"Who flirted with that guy!" Gwen looked at Su Heng on the ceiling with some disdain, and lay on the counter indifferently, waving at Tony and Su Heng.
"Anyway, it seems that I, who have become a useless person, can't help the manager and Mr. Stark, you, just go by yourself."
"What about you, Su Heng!" Tony looked at Su Heng who jumped down from the ceiling.
"Since you're urging me like this, I can only go with you to find the guy who replaced the card." Su Heng shrugged and picked up his mobile phone from the counter.
"But before that, I have to find a taxi that can take us around New York."
"Why bother?" Tony took out a car key from his pocket and pressed the unlock button on the key.
Outside the dessert shop, the lights of a very cool-looking sports car lit up.
"Although I didn't authorize Pepper to use the armor, she can use other things in the house at will, okay?"
Tony turned the key in his hand and said to Su Heng.
"Let's go quickly without delay."
"Yeah." Su Heng turned his head and looked at Gwen, who was lying on the counter listlessly, and raised his chin to her: "Why are you still standing there, let's go together."
"I can't help." Gwen raised her eyes and said weakly: "It's more appropriate for me to watch the store here now."
"But those little guys are all living in my body. If you don't go, I can't summon them nearby." Su Heng walked to the side of the counter and pulled Gwen up from the counter.
"So, even if you don't want to go, you can't go, okay."
"Is that so?" Gwen was pulled up by Su Heng. Listening to Su Heng's words, a glimmer of spirit finally burst out of her originally listless eyes.
Of course it's fake.
Su Heng looked at Gwen's spirited appearance and smiled secretly in his heart.
Su Heng could easily extract the magic book from his body and take it to find a substitute card.
But Su Heng knew that if he really said that, it would hurt the little girl's heart.
"Then let's go!" After getting Su Heng's nod, Gwen cheered up again, stepped over Su Heng and Tony, and walked out of the dessert shop first.
"It's good to be young." Tony looked at Gwen's spirited appearance and sighed in a low voice.
He looked at the expression on Su Heng's face and guessed that Su Heng was probably lying to Gwen.
It can only be said that young people are really too easy to fool.
Tony shook his head and walked out of the dessert shop with Su Heng.
"Welcome to listen to the noon report of the Daily Bugle. I am the host Karak." A soft female voice sounded in a cool sports car on the streets of New York.
"A team of four scientists led by genius scientist Reed Richards will successfully complete the space travel mission at the beginning of next month.
According to the reporter's investigation, the space travel led by Reed Richards this time was funded by a mysterious rich man from Latveria."
"During the space travel, as a genius scientist, how much can Reed Richards bring to everyone about the mysteries of the universe, and what kind of scientific research results can he show to everyone? All of this will be shown to everyone by Reed Richards when the spacecraft returns at the beginning of next month. I hope you will wait and see."
"Tsk." Tony, who was driving the car, listened to the broadcast on the radio and curled his lips in dissatisfaction.
"Is that guy coming back?"
"Mr. Reed Richards?" Gwen glanced at Tony, who looked unhappy.
"If I remember correctly, Mr. Stark seems to have always had a bad relationship with Mr. Richards."
"Not only not good, it's terrible, okay?" Tony said bluntly.
Gwen looked at Su Heng's confused gaze and explained to him in a low voice.
"Manager, you hadn't come to New York at that time, so you may not understand it very well."
"Mr. Stark and Mr. Richards are both leaders of the younger generation in the scientific research community, and they often debate at various academic conferences."
"Mr. Richards at that time looked down on Mr. Stark for having such good resources but preferring to spend his days in debauchery."
"Mr. Stark thought Mr. Richards was too self-righteous and too stubborn."
"And a year ago, Mr. Richards and Mr. Stark had a big fight over investment."
"Oh?" Su Heng looked at Tony with interest.
"Humph, that guy." Tony snorted coldly: "He was obviously asking me to invest, but he was dragging a broken face. How could I give him a good face?"
"But at that time, Mr. Stark, you seemed to have ridiculed Mr. Richards as an unambitious idealist in major media newspapers," Gwen said in a low voice.
"Nonsense, what kind of personality was I at that time." Tony curled his lips: "I was merciful for not bombarding him with the media for several weeks, okay?"
"That's true." Su Heng shrugged.
"Obviously, if that guy just gave in, the funds would have been in place long ago, but he insisted on being a researcher, and said that he came to me because he thought highly of me."
Tony complained to Su Heng and Gwen.
"I really have to thank him for thinking highly of me, a poor guy!"
"If he hadn't been lucky enough to get investment from Latveria, I would have watched that guy laugh for a while, and when he was completely desperate and came to me crying, I would have slapped the check in his face, what a pity"
Tony shook his head with some regret.
"So this is the mutual exclusion between you smart people?"
Su Heng's hand was on the edge of the car window, and he smiled and teased Tony.
"I don't deny that guy's brain, but I don't deny that guy's character either." Tony looked at the cars lined up in front of him for police inspection and slowly stepped on the brakes.
"Huh?" Su Heng, who was sitting in the passenger seat, looked at the familiar figure who was checking the car in front of him and opened his mouth in surprise.
"Did I see it wrong?" Su Heng murmured in a low voice with some disbelief.
"What?" Gwen in the back seat followed Su Heng's line of sight and was stunned.
"Mother?"
What appeared in front of Su Heng and Gwen was Ms. Helen in a police uniform.
"When I got up in the morning, Ms. Helen and Sheriff Stacy were not at home." Su Heng whispered to Gwen.
"So if I guessed correctly, Ms. Helen and Sheriff Stacy probably swapped bodies today, otherwise, how could Ms. Helen be performing official duties on the street in a police uniform."
"Yeah"
Gwen naturally knew that her mother was just a pure housewife and would never have the leisure to work for her father.
And even if she did, the New York Police Department would never allow such a thing to happen.
"Ma'am, please show me your driver's license and vehicle registration." Ms. Helen walked to Tony's side without looking up with a small notebook in her hand, talking to Tony while writing something in the small notebook.
But suddenly, Ms. Helen noticed two sights coming from the driver's seat. She raised her head slightly and looked into the driver's seat.
"Gwen, and Su Heng?" Ms. Helen was stunned.
"Well, so should I call you Ms. Helen, or Sheriff Stacy?" Gwen (Su Heng) asked Ms. Helen.
"Should I call you father? Or mother?" Su Heng (Gwen) also asked Ms. Helen at the same time.
"You too" Ms. Helen, or Sheriff Stacy, seemed to understand something after listening to the speeches of Su Heng and Gwen.
"Today is really a hell of a day." Sheriff Stacy shook her head and asked Gwen and Su Heng.
"So you two are going to follow this, Ms. Pepper? Where to go?"
Tony didn't say anything, but quietly handed Pepper's vehicle registration and driver's license to Sheriff Stacy.
"Walk around." Su Heng said to Sheriff Stacy.
"I want to try my luck around and see if I can get my body back."
"Is that so?" Sheriff Stacy also understood Su Heng's identity. He nodded to the people in the car: "Remember to pay more attention to safety when you are free. If you can solve it earlier, do it as soon as possible."
"I know, I know." Gwen waved to Sheriff Stacy: "You go ahead, we'll leave."
"Okay." Sheriff Stacy nodded, let Tony and his car leave the checkpoint
