Chicken Soup for the Soul.
Written before the last volume.
The Scourge of Naruto.
When I first started writing this title, the tone had already been formed.
The journey of opening a book is both long and short.
I wrote this book in one and a half years with 300,000 words. It’s not an exaggeration to say it’s a long time. If it hadn’t been signed and put on the shelves, I’m sure this book wouldn’t be a eunuch, but it would definitely become a book in my lifetime. series.
Then after it was published, I spent half a year writing one million words. Compared with the former, it is more urgent than short.
This book has just come along. During this period, I have also seen a lot of comments, including praise, praise, slander, disparagement, and abuse...
In fact, many times, I often feel puzzled.
The tone of this book was already clear when I wrote the first chapter. What expresses the tone even more clearly is the title and introduction.
Yes, this is a dark novel.
Therefore, when I read book reviews that accuse the main character of being a psychopath or even attack me directly, I won’t be angry, I’m just confused.
The title and introduction of the book already tell you the category of this book. However, those who cannot accept and are particularly sensitive to this category just want to read it and then start to criticize it.
I feel really bad for this section of readers.
The book Scourge gave me many firsts after it hit the shelves.
The first considerable amount of royalties, the first monthly ticket award, the first time on the big block, the first time having a leader... and many more firsts.
Because it has not been selected as a high-quality product, the results can only be considered as average, so I cannot say that the Naruto fanfic I wrote is a high-quality product, but it is a work that I filled in word by word. No matter how many book reviews there are, it will not change what I am about to do. The written process and ending cannot change my identification with this book.
I can say it very narcissistically: In my heart, Disaster is the best Naruto fan fiction, and the reason is... isn't this nonsense? If you don't agree with the work you write, it will really be useless.
That being said, there are indeed many problems that plague this book.
I'm sorry, I'm just an author with only three million words of writing experience and average grades. I'm not a master. I just write down such cute words word by word. So I can't avoid many problems. I can only try my best. Thinking about how to write well, that’s all.
After it was put on the shelves, the number of my updates increased dramatically, and the unprecedented stable updates were nothing more than money as the driving force. If I have money, I will naturally be willing to spend more energy and thought on it.
The more readers that subscribe, the more considerable my income will be. This is a very real problem, so in order to have more readers, I have made compromises without you knowing it.
When I first started this book, I decided to write a special book, and then there was Naruto: The Scourge, a dark and abusive book. Obviously, it is difficult to have a book like this type. Readers are willing to subscribe. After all, most people read novels for relaxation and entertainment...
I am not afraid to tell you that on the eve of the release on June 17, in order to achieve good results, I forcibly changed the plot, dug a big hole for myself, let myself jump in, and then slowly filled it in myself. Although it was temporary The major changes will not affect the final outcome, but the process has changed a lot.
This is the change I made in order to get better results. It can also be said to be a concession or a compromise.
There is another compromise... and that is the memory killing chapter.
If it were not on the shelves, I would need about thirty chapters to finish the chapter of Ye Zi and Ye Rui's memories. This memory chapter is used to enrich the Ye Zi that I have created, and also to explain Ye Zi. Why do I have to go back at all costs, but I ended this very important chapter very briefly.
Why do this?
To be fair, if I had written such a long story about a flashback that had nothing to do with Naruto, and it had just been released, I would probably have scared away a lot of subscribers.
This is another compromise I made. Of course, it also has something to do with my views.
Is it any wonder that my only relative is in danger and I need to save it, so I desperately want to go back?
Recently, when I was lying in bed getting ready to go to bed every day, I closed my eyes and thought about the subsequent plot. Maybe because of this, I kept tossing and turning and couldn't fall asleep. Several times, I really couldn't sleep anymore, so I got up and turned on the phone. The computer is updated, and I feel sleepy after writing, and then I can fall asleep.
This resulted in poor energy the next day. The first thing I did after coming back was to set the alarm clock and sleep for two or three hours.
I am not saying this to excuse my laziness in November... I basically wrote 4,000 words a day in November, with no additional updates, no explosive updates, or even interrupted updates.
Originally, I would make an excuse for myself, that is, for me, who has average grades, the full attendance bonus of 600 per month is very important. What is the concept of this? It is equivalent to 100 more subscribing readers every month.
But this is just an excuse, because on the basis of four thousand words a day, I did not save the manuscript. After writing four thousand words, my hands were still on the keyboard, and the words I continued to type were neither too many nor too few, but these The messy words I typed have nothing to do with the disaster, but everything to do with the new book.
I plan to finish it in December. I don’t know how many words the final volume will have. It may be 100,000 words, 200,000 words, or 300,000 words. However, no matter how many words the final volume has, I have to Completed in December.
In other words, if there are 100,000 words left in the content, I will be very relaxed. If there are 200,000 words left in the content, I will be uncomfortable. If there are 300,000 words left in the content, I will be very painful.
Why must it be finished in December? Because I don’t want this book to enter its third year, so the pressure to update it comes.
The editor told me that it is best to release a new book as soon as the book is finished, and I personally agree with this.
However, my new book only has an initial idea, not to mention the overall idea, not even a framework. This is embarrassing, because all the energy in December will be focused on updating.
Regarding the next book, to be honest, I am very scared. I don’t know if I can write a good book, I don’t know if I can get good results, and I don’t know if the next book can bring me better income.
I want to own a novel that can truly be called a masterpiece. This book is still halfway to this wish. It is coming to an end and I probably won’t be able to go any further. I can only rely on the next book.
Next month, I must finish the book "Scourge". I have to finish it in as many words as I want, but I hope it will be 100,000 words, haha, because it will be easier and I will have more time to think about new books.
Before a long-winded conclusion, let me say something by the way.
In the recent book review section, I saw that several readers could not accept the recent plot and did not want to continue reading.
I won’t keep you, so just give up if you want. But now that you’ve seen this, let’s take another look when the disaster is over.
Finally, I sincerely thank the many book friends who have accompanied me along the way. Thank you for your recommendations, collections, subscriptions, rewards, and monthly votes! ! ! !
