Chapter 427 Severus Snape
Since entering Hogwarts, Snape has said more than once that Ada's curiosity will kill her.
In the first grade, he was almost killed by Welfare in the Forbidden Forest because of curiosity; in the third grade, he went to the fourth floor of the castle to investigate the Sorcerer's Stone because of curiosity; in the fourth grade, he also started investigating the Chamber of Secrets out of curiosity; in the fifth grade, he investigated Sirius Black. Part of it is driven by curiosity.
Over the years, Snape always tried to persuade Ada to stop being curious, but Ada refused to change her curiosity despite repeated admonishments.
The two people's eyes met in the corridor, and there were no sparks or lightning. In the end, Snape, who was standing at the door of the classroom, was defeated.
Snape put away his wand and said, "Ask, if you have anything to ask, just ask. Today is the only chance."
The Potions Professor didn't know why he had a preference for the girl in front of him. She was obviously a self-righteous, curious, and unruly little bastard.
At first Snape just followed Dumbledore's orders, but now he is used to it.
Perhaps it was the occasional flash of light from Ada that warmed the cold heart of the Potions Professor. Humans are very complex animals, who knew!
"How did the professor know that someone was eavesdropping outside?" Ada asked, "And how did he see through my disguise spell? The professor doesn't have Moody's magic eye."
Hearing Moody's name, Snape had a look of disgust on his face.
He said: "I didn't know that someone was eavesdropping outside. People who can understand my conversation with Karkaroff can't hide it, and those who can't understand don't need to hide it."
"As for your Disillusionment Curse, I didn't see through it either." Snape continued, "I was blinded."
"Uh... I'm confused... is it so accurate?" Ada didn't know what to say for a moment, and the beautiful woman was speechless. She thought there was some flaw in her phantom spell, or that the sound of footsteps and breathing gave her away, but she didn't expect that she was actually blinded!
After thinking about it, Ada thought it might be Snapmon's.
The only two professors who were nearby here just now were Snape and Karkaroff, and the rest were students. She was the only one who dared to eavesdrop on the conversation between the two professors.
"That's right, I'm just fooling you. Only you have the courage, and you are the only one who is willing to meddle in other people's business." Snape said, "If you don't have anything to ask, just get out of here."
ask! Why don't you ask? No fool would ask! Ada immediately asked: "What does it refer to?"
In the conversation between Snape and Karkaroff just now, "he" refers to Voldemort or Dumbledore, but what this "it" refers to is not very clear to Ada.
Under Ada's curious gaze, Snape lifted up his sleeves hastily, and then quickly put them down. Although the Potions Master was secretive, Ada could see clearly that Snape had an ugly tattoo in the style of the Dark Mark on his arm.
"This is……"
Snape said: "The Dark Mark, Death Eaters all have this mark on their bodies. He can use this mark to summon his servants."
Hearing this, Ada understood something. She said: "Karkaroff said: 'It is getting clearer and clearer', which means that the mark is getting clearer and clearer. And it is getting clearer and clearer, which means that Voldemort is getting stronger and stronger, that’s why Karkaroff is so panicked!”
"Don't say his name, and don't show yourself with ignorance." Snape taught him a lesson. "If you don't understand his power and cruelty, don't imitate Dumbledore. This will only make you look stupid."
You-Know-Who, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and the Dark Lord are all nicknames for Voldemort. The name Voldemort is taboo in the entire wizarding world.
Even Professor McGonagall did not dare to call Voldemort directly. You must know that she is the head of Gryffindor who is famous for her courage.
The wizards did not dare to mention it, not only because of the fear brought by Voldemort himself and his followers, nor because wizards were unable to face this fear, but because Voldemort had cast a spell on his name.
Once someone mentions "Voldemort", Voldemort himself will know that what is waiting for this person will be the Death Eaters who come to settle accounts, or the Dark Lord himself.
Except for Dumbledore and a few others, those who dared to call "Voldemort" by his name were basically killed.
"His return is a foregone conclusion, it's just a matter of sooner or later." Snape calmed down and continued, "I don't know what he wants to do, but the Triwizard Tournament is definitely a trap, full of unknown secrets. Danger."
The Triwizard Tournament is indeed the opponent's best choice. People from outside schools enter Hogwarts, and it's a mixed bag. But what is the other party’s specific plan? Purpose, or meaning, what do they want to gain by doing this?
Someone stole Snape's personal stash. Did this person want to make Polyjuice Potion from the skin of the African tree snake? When the third project arrives, infiltrate Hogwarts by pretending to be someone from outside the school?
Since Voldemort's "resurrection" is imminent, why would he come over to provoke Dumbledore? Shouldn't he act as low-key as possible and wait until Voldemort returns before making any plans?
"Professor, what do you think about it?" Ada asked tactfully.
Now Snape is the Potions Professor at Hogwarts and is trusted by Dumbledore, but what about after Voldemort returns?
Ada was eager to know what Snape would choose. If possible, she did not want to go to war with Professor Snape.
Snape's eyes were lowered, as if he was studying the dust on the ground. He said slowly: "I am different from Karkaroff. I am not a coward who only runs away from fear. I will not betray my colleagues."
What he said to Ada was similar to what he said to Karkaroff, almost the same hint, but the thoughts of Ada and Karkaroff were completely different.
Karkaroff believed that Snape was hinting to him that he had always been a Death Eater and that his stay at Hogwarts was a pretense of surrender. He had been waiting for the day when the Dark Lord would come back and rule the world.
As for whether the Dark Lord would believe Snape, Karkaroff thought he would. The former Dark Lord trusted Snape very much and gave him a lot of "favor".
Unlike Karkaroff, Ada believed that Snape was making his position clear and would not betray his colleagues, referring to his intention to stand with Dumbledore to fight against the resurgent Voldemort.
Why do you think so? Because Dumbledore trusted Snape, and what he himself did over the years was not something that a young man could do.
Regarding Foley in the first year, it can be said that Snape looked down on the stupid Benedick Foley. What about Quirinus Quirrell in third grade? Was it also because Quirrell was stupid? What about Sirius Black from last year?
That day in the Twilight Cottage, Snape was trying hard to kill Sirius. It was widely rumored that Sirius was Voldemort's second-in-command, and killing Sirius would not do any good to Erwuzi.
It can't be because Voldemort was beaten by a one-year-old baby. Snape should avenge his old master!
Anyway, Ada felt that if Snape was the traitor, it would be better to betray him directly. The things he did were really hard to explain. If Voldemort continued to trust Snape, Ada would really suspect that there might be something wrong with the Dark Lord's mind.
It's better to kill the wrong person than let this happen! If it were Ada, she would kill every traitor one by one without mercy, leaving no possible hidden dangers.
Looking at the changing expressions on Ada's delicate face, Snape said calmly: "I know what you are thinking, and these are not things you should think about. Take care of yourself, the third project will never be like you It’s as simple as you think.”
"Where is Professor Dumbledore?" Ada asked, "What is his old man's plan? He is not someone who just sits still and waits for death."
Snape's face showed obvious displeasure, and he said: "If you want to know, just ask him yourself. Don't take my word for it. Besides, I don't know what he is thinking. He will never tell him anything." Tell everyone your complete plan.”
Many times when Dumbledore asks you to do something, you may not even know the meaning of it. But when the other thing is over, you will find that Dumbledore has other deep intentions for your arrangement.
It is so enigmatic that except for Grindelwald, no one in the world may understand Dumbledore's brain circuit.
"There is one last point that you should keep in mind." Snape continued with a serious expression, "You have already attracted a lot of attention, and the third project will inevitably be targeted. Sometimes, giving up at the right time is not a sign of incompetence.
"You've done enough."
