Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 300 Confusing Blake

Although Ada's influence is not enough to appease everyone, it can calm everyone temporarily and prevent the matter from getting bigger and making everyone more uneasy.

The Gryffindor students were looking at each other to prevent anyone from getting lost or being attacked. Older students are also trying to reassure those around them. They have experienced more and are better able to keep themselves calm.

Fortunately, Dumbledore arrived quickly, followed by Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, and Professor Lupin.

Before Dumbledore could speak, the students spontaneously made way for the professors to pass. Dumbledore glanced quickly at the destroyed portrait, turned around, and looked solemnly.

"We need to find her," Dumbledore said. "Professor McGonagall, please go to Mr. Filch immediately and ask him to search every painting in the castle for the Fat Lady."

"Good luck!" a voice chuckled.

It was Peeves who loved to play pranks. He was jumping up and down above everyone's heads. Seeing this unfortunate and troubled scene, he was as happy as usual.

"What did you say, Peeves?" Dumbledore asked calmly. The smile on Peeves' face softened a little. He did not dare to laugh at Dumbledore.

Ada was not as broad-minded as the principal. She said threateningly: "If you know where she is, you'd better tell her quickly!"

"Disgusting Drizzt! Ugly boy Drizzt!" Peeves is not afraid of Ada. Peeves is not a ghost. To be precise, he was born with the school.

Successive school administrators have tried to expel Peeves, a prankster, from school, but have never succeeded.

In 1876, the school made its last attempt. The then administrator designed an ingenious trap, but instead of getting rid of Peeves, he angered Peeves.

Enraged, Peeves rampaged through Hogwarts armed with several scimitars, several crossbows, a large-caliber muzzleloader, and a small cannon, which he fired at will for fun. The castle had to be evacuated for three days until Peeves calmed down.

Finally, the then headmaster signed an agreement with Peeves, and he surrendered his weapons and stopped shooting students. Peeves has done much more exciting things than Ada, so how could he be afraid of Ada?

Apart from Bloody Barrow, only Dumbledore could make Peeves fearful.

Peeves put on a flattering tone and said to Dumbledore courteously: "She is shy, Mr. Headmaster. She doesn't want to be seen. She is miserable. I saw her running across the scenery on the fifth floor. Paint, sir, and hide in the bushes. Crying unbearably."

"Did she say who did it?" Dumbledore asked softly.

"Oh, yes, Mr. Professor," said Peeves, but he looked somewhat gloating.

Peeves suddenly turned over and grinned at Dumbledore from between his legs. He continued: "He wanted to go in, but she didn't let him. He was very angry, and then it turned into what you saw. Like this."

These words were a bit convoluted, as Peeves deliberately said them this way, but everyone still understood the meaning.

"Sirius Black!"

I don’t know which student said it first, and then the name was repeated by other students. Now everyone thinks that the person who tried to break into the lounge was the fugitive Sirius Black.

"Yes, yes, it's him!" Peeves said with fake fear. "His eyes and soul are as dark as his name - Black!"

Peeves confirmed everyone's suspicions, and Black's name instantly made the Halloween castle feel cold. How could the students not be afraid of such a murderer appearing in school?

Professor Dumbledore led all Gryffindor students back to the Great Hall. Black was still roaming the school and the Gryffindor common room was no longer safe.

Ten minutes later, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin students also returned to the Great Hall, each with confusion on their faces.

"The teachers and I need to conduct a comprehensive search of the castle." Dumbledore announced loudly. "For your own safety, I'm afraid you will have to spend the night here. I hope that the prefects will guard the entrance to the auditorium, and I entrust the President of the Boys' and Girls' Union to take charge of it. If anything happens, report it to me immediately."

At this time, McGonagall and Professor Flitwick closed all the doors of the auditorium, and Dumbledore also left the auditorium after conjuring hundreds of sleeping bags.

The auditorium immediately erupted in chatter, and the Gryffindor students told the students from other houses what had just happened.

Ada did not stay in the auditorium like the other prefects, she also walked out. Seeing Ada coming out, Dumbledore thought for half a minute and said, "Be careful, Black is not an ordinary wizard."

The principal's reminder seemed a bit unnecessary. Ada would deal with a wizard who blew up the entire street with a spell, no matter how confident she was. Confidence is not arrogance.

The professors spread out to search every corner of the castle. Professor McGonagall wanted Ada to follow her, but Ada had already disappeared. It was better not to let Professor McGonagall know where she was going to search. She was afraid that her dear professor's blood pressure would soar.

Although Ada always said that Hogwarts is the safest place, only a fool would believe it, but Hogwarts has no shortage of protective magic. Hogwarts not only has walls and a black lake, but also anti-Apparition spells and various magic circles to protect the school.

Now, there is still a large group of dementors floating outside the school. In this case, unless Black has some unknown means, it is impossible for him to appear in the school out of thin air.

What Ada is going to search now is a loophole that might be exploited by Black - the secret passage in Hogwarts.

The Marauders knew about these secret passages and plotted them on the Marauder's Map; Ada and the twins knew about these secret passages and traveled frequently; even Filch knew about several of them.

It is not impossible that Sirius Black knows several secret passages. It is possible that he even knows some secret passages that Ada is not aware of.

Ada searched all the secret passages in the castle that she knew, but found nothing. She also met Snape and Filch who were also searching for the secret passage. Like Ada, they found nothing.

However, Ada discovered something interesting, that is, Snape was unusual.

Since Harry entered school in 1991, Snape's expression has become "colorful", but this expression is only for Harry and cannot be seen by others. Even if others saw it, they wouldn't be able to tell what Snape's expression meant.

That is to say, Ada always comes into contact with Snape before she can discover his differences.

At this year's opening party, Ada discovered that there was another person who made Snape's expression come alive, and that was Remus Lupin. Different from his previous contempt for Quirrell, which was so obvious that a blind man could see it, Snape's expression this time was very vague, with disgust and hatred, and seemed to be mixed with a trace of sympathy?

Ada once thought that her old eyesight was dim and she was mistaken.

This evening in Gryffindor Tower, Ada found Snape trying to suppress his anger. Ada had never seen Snape in this state before, and not even the crossdresser could make him angry like this.

The Potions Professor can't be so angry because of the Fat Lady, right? It seems that there is another story between Snape and Black!

At about three o'clock in the morning, the professors' search came to an end, but no trace of Blake was found in the school. Sirius Black is like a ghost, suddenly appearing in school and disappearing suddenly.

Ada returned to the hall and patrolled the hall with the other prefects. But Ada's mind wasn't on patrol, and she didn't care if someone was secretly talking about Blake while they were awake.

The mysterious behavior of the Azkaban escapees caused Ada too much confusion.

Why did Blake choose to take action today? Is it because he knows that today is Halloween and knows that there are no students in the lounge; or that he has lost the concept of time and does not know that today is Halloween.

Ada tried to put herself in someone else's shoes, trying to think about the problem from Sirius Black's perspective to resolve the doubts in her heart.
