Chapter 170 Why Didn’t We Think of Coming by Car?
Ivan ran back to the castle with Hermione, and happened to meet Professor McGonagall welcoming the new students halfway. Hermione stepped forward quickly and reported the matter anxiously.
"What? You said that Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley drove a Muggle car and planned to fly to the school?" Professor McGonagall was very surprised and almost thought Hermione was joking.
As far as she knew, Muggle cars couldn't fly!
But noticing that the worried look on Hermione's face didn't look fake, Professor McGonagall immediately understood the seriousness of the matter.
"I think Harry Ron may have encountered some trouble and missed the train, so he drove a Muggle car over." Ivan added.
"That's not okay. If you miss the train, you can just send a letter and ask us to find someone to pick you up. How could they do such a dangerous thing?" Professor McGonagall reprimanded angrily, her lips trembling constantly.
What would happen if the Muggle car Harry and Ron were driving had a problem or crashed on the way?
Thinking of this, Professor McGonagall said anxiously.
"I will go to your headmaster Albus now and ask him if there is anything he can do."
"As for you, go to the hall now and don't run around!" Professor McGonagall warned, and then hurried away.
Hermione vaguely wanted to follow, but was stopped by Ivan. They couldn't help now.
Entering the auditorium, Ivan took Hermione and found a place to sit down. He looked at the teacher's seat. The seats of Snape and Professor McGonagall were empty, while the seat of Kino, who was previously represented, was Occupied by Lockhart.
At the same time, Dumbledore was not seen.
As the time approached, the Sorting Hat asked naggingly when it would start, and it couldn't help but want to sing its newly composed lyrics.
The freshmen became more and more uneasy, and all of them looked nervous.
Several professors at the teachers' table discussed who would preside over the branching of the freshmen.
"You all listen to me, I'm afraid no one in the entire magical world knows Sorting better than me!" During the argument, Lockhart stood up and spoke confidently.
Amid the confused expressions of all the professors, Lockhart worked hard to sell himself, hoping to get this opportunity for freshmen to branch out. And he repeatedly emphasized that he had presided over similar sorting work many times in Muggle schools.
Even Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, the two major magic schools in Europe, invited him to attend the opening ceremony.
It was a pity that the other professors obviously did not trust him. In the end, the most prestigious Professor Flitwick jumped down from his chair, left his position, and walked towards the stage.
The Sorting Hat can finally sing. Although its voice is not very nice, it sounds surprisingly good in time with the beat.
Then the freshmen walked to the front desk one by one, sat on small chairs and began to sort into different schools.
Professor Flitwick soon discovered that he was not suitable for this job. As a goblin, he couldn't even reach the tops of the students' heads with his feet while holding the Sorting Hat.
Just as Flitwick was about to use a spell to lower the chairs where the students were sitting. The clever Lockhart brought a stool over at this time and encouraged Professor Flitwick not to feel inferior because of his short size. You can also become very tall standing on the stool!
This operation made Professor Flitwick extremely embarrassed, but Lockhart was completely unaware and patted Flitwick's shoulder affectionately, telling him not to thank him.
Professor Flitwick strongly suspected that this guy did it on purpose, but he could never find any evidence.
Ivan watched the small theater on the stage with relish, and suddenly felt his clothes being pulled by someone. He turned around and realized it was Hermione.
"It's Harry!" The little witch was looking at the door of the hall at this time.
Ivan followed and looked over, and sure enough he found a disgraced Harry and Ron planning to sneak in through the door.
The two little devils may have thought that no one would pay attention to them when they were being sorted, but they forgot to look behind them. Snape had been waiting for them for a long time.
"Harry and Ron won't be expelled because of this, right?" Hermione said worriedly as she watched the two of them being led away by Snape.
"Don't worry, it won't happen!" Ivan said comfortingly.
Dumbledore wouldn't have kicked Harry out of anyone, even if they drove a magic car to school and crashed a Whomping Willow.
Time passed slowly, and Dumbledore arrived late when the sorting ceremony was almost over. The expression on his face was very calm, as if nothing had happened.
He gave a brief and concise speech, used his wand to arrange dinner for everyone, and then left again.
Ivan guessed that Dumbledore might have wiped out Harry and Ron. After all, they drove a flying car to school, and countless Muggles saw it along the way.
The Ministry of Magic will probably have to send a large number of people to erase the memories of these Muggles.
They had caused such a big trouble. If Dumbledore hadn't been there to take care of them, the Ministry of Magic would have definitely made trouble for them.
But this had nothing to do with Ivan. He was eating a rich dinner while thinking about what he should do this semester.
The first step, of course, is to search for the remaining pages of "The Origin of Bloodline" and find a way to integrate multiple bloodlines.
Secondly, you should not slack off in your daily studies. Accumulating student status points and improving your skill level are the foundation of strength.
There is also the matter of practicing Animagus. Ivan has not forgotten the agreement he made with Professor McGonagall at the end of last semester.
What gives Ivan a little headache is how to obtain the legendary value. This thing requires five points to be effective. He only has three points now. Even if he completes the task of Mystery of Bloodline, it will only be four points.
After dinner, Ivan followed the other Gryffindor students back to the lounge.
On the way back to the dormitory, Ivan unexpectedly heard many young wizards discussing the missing Harry and Ron. Apparently he and Hermione were not the only ones who saw the Muggle car while taking the train.
After talking for a while with a senior Gryffindor next to him, George couldn't help turning his head and speaking to Fred.
"This is so cool. Why didn't we think about driving that car to school?"
Fred nodded, also very surprised. He and George had never had the guts to do this, because if their mother found out, she would definitely kill him!
He never expected that their brother Ron would have such courage.
It seems that they usually underestimate Ron.
Ivan listened on the sidelines, quite speechless at the logic of the two people.
But George is not the only one who thinks so. Many Gryffindor wizards find traveling like this very exciting.
Because of this, when Harry and Ron, who were very worried, returned to the dormitory, they were greeted with warm applause, and many young wizards gathered around to ask them about driving to school.
For a moment, the two were even treated like heroes, as if they had done something extraordinary.
Harry and Ron were very embarrassed at first, but gradually they forgot about their previous experience of narrowly escaping death, and talked about today's thrilling experience with Neville in the dormitory.
Ivan yawned and went back to bed, hoping sincerely that they would be able to laugh again tomorrow.
