Netherese Arcanist
The archmages of ancient Netheril (Netheril) are considered the greatest human spellcasters in the history of Faerun, although the elves claim that everything the people of Netheril learned came from elf mages. Even so, Netheril's spellcasters are famous for the powerful magic they wield—spells that can slice off mountain tops and float them into the sky as floating cities.
Netherese arcanists are pioneers in the casting of legendary spells, dedicated to mastering the mysteries of those otherworldly spells. Most of those with this advanced class died when the floating city fell from the sky and their powerful empire was destroyed in the desert of Anauroch (Anauroch), but at least one still survives as a lich. But today's mages and warlocks have access to ancient Netherese arts in two ways. They can explore the lost ruins of Netheril, find the records of arcanists' ancient mysteries, or visit the shadows, the living descendants of those powerful spellcasters. In the Shadow Society, the Netheril Arcanists once again rose to the top of their ranks and received great attention from neighboring regions.

occupational characteristics
The following are the class features of the Netherese arcanist.
Weapon & Armor Proficiency:
Netherese arcanists are not proficient with any weapons, armor, or shields. For armor heavier than leather, the armor check penalty applies to the skills of Balance, Climb, Escape Artist, Hide, Jump, Sneak, Sleight of Hand, and Acrobatics. Normal check penalties are doubled.
Epic Spellcasting:
At 1st level, Netheril arcanists gain epic spellcasting as a bonus feat if they do not already have it.
Field specialization (Field):
Each Netheril arcanist can choose one of three magical domains—creation (), mentalism (mentalism), transformation ()—as the main area of specialization. At the same time he chooses one of the remaining two fields as a secondary field. He cannot cast spells based on the seeds of the third realm.
The legendary spell elements contained in each domain are listed in the table below.
domain elements
Create—afflict, armor,
conjure, destroy,
energy, kill(),
call (summon)
Mind—banish, compel,
Conceal, contact,
delude, foresee,
reveal
Transform—animate, animate

Transform, transport,
Protection (ward)
When an arcanist studies spells in his primary specialization,
The basic observation spell DC is reduced by 5, as if belonging to the spellcaster's specialized school of spells. If it already belongs to the spellcaster's specialized spell school, it has no additional benefit.
Spell Focus (Legendary) (Spell Focus) (Epic):
At 2nd level, a Netheril arcanist increases the DC of saving throws against epic spells by 1, but does not increase the DC to observe spells.
Recoil Resistance (Su):
At 3rd level, a Netheril arcanist gains resistance 5 to recoil when casting an epic spell. Each time he casts a legendary spell that recoils, the damage is reduced by 5. If the recoil damage lasts for more than 1 round, reduce it by 5 each round.
Epic Spell Artisan:
At 4th level, a Netheril arcanist can study epic spells with fewer time and resources. When determining the cost of raw materials for researching legendary spells, he multiplies the DC of observing spells by 7000 gold coins instead of 9000 gold coins, and reduces the research and development time and experience point consumption accordingly.
Greater Spell Focus (Epic):
At 5th level, a Netheril arcanist adds 1 to the DC of saving throws against epic spells, but does not increase the DC to observe spells. This increase stacks with the one provided by his Spell Focus (epic) ability, for a total bonus of +2.
