Chapter 3 Conflict

A day in Lubyanka Prison started with the ringing of the bell in the morning. Although Sergey and Petrov were up all night, they were still full of energy. Despite their nervous tension, they still pretended to be as nonchalant as usual. .

The prisoners still lined up to eat in the cafeteria as usual, and Father Petrov followed the line slowly, looking at the table of the Che*chen from time to time.

Those intellectuals who have made mistakes will not be sent here, because they are too gentle, so they will live honestly in labor camps inside the Arctic Circle. Only those who are not so obedient will be sent here. Although there are not many Chechens in Lubyanka Prison, they are the most vicious people in Lubyanka Prison. And their mortal enemies are also a minority of Georgians in prison, Azerbaijanis, and the majority of Caucasians and Slavs. It seems that only the Kazakhs in Central Asia have a decent relationship with them, probably because of the lentils after World War II During the operation, many Chechens were forced to emigrate to Central Asia because of the rebellion during the war. Many Che*chens and Ingush people never considered themselves to be part of the Soviets. The Che*chens’ resistance has never changed since ancient times, until the two Che*chens initiated by Putin after the new millennium. After experiencing the brutal and ruthless street fighting in Grozny, the land there really restored peace.

People in the Lubyanka prison must rely on a certain group to survive. People form alliances with each other because of ethnicity and region, and the Chechen gang is undoubtedly the strongest. Although they are few in number, they are used to being unchallenged in the Lubyanka prison.

If it was not forced, Seryozha would not do stupid things to provoke them. The purpose of provoking them was to lock them into the confinement room. Relatively slack, so that's definitely a good place to be.

It's very easy to anger the Che*chen people, and with their quick-fried personality, it's definitely not easy. The most difficult thing in the prison is to prepare the prisoners' food, not because of the superb craftsmanship required, but because of absolute fairness, because any unfairness may lead to conflicts. Seryozha just pretended to accidentally buckle the food on the clothes of a Che*chen gang boy when he turned around. What a disappointment to the chefs who worked so hard to prepare the food.

It is obviously unwise to be severely injured in order to be locked up in a confinement room. So Seryozha retreated towards the territory of the Slavic gang while paying attention to the Che*chen gang who gathered angrily. The abnormality here instantly attracted the attention of the prisoners, and more and more people gathered around.

"You idiot..." the Che*chen man cursed.

"Hit him, hit that boy, take his pants off, kick his ass hard."

"Those Che*chen people think this is where it is. This is Moscow, not the countryside of Grozny. Teach them a lesson and let them know who is the master here."

"Teach them a lesson!"

"Teach them a lesson!"

"..."

The people around were afraid that the world would not be chaotic, and the Slavs, who accounted for the majority, also surrounded them. It's not because of the good relationship between Seryozha and them, but because of the xenophobic character of the Russians.

The two groups of people stood face to face, which attracted the attention of the guards. Some guards had already taken out their batons, and some prisoners who were afraid of trouble quietly stayed away from the place of right and wrong. But how could Seryosha and the others let the matter calm down so easily.

"Calm down, everyone. If this goes on like this, there will be no good fruit for everyone." Father Petrov came out to persuade the fight. Of course, he was not really trying to persuade the fight. He bumped the guy hard with his elbow from time to time.

"Go away, old man!" The guy was really angry, and he pushed old Petrov away. Papa Petrov was pushed down on the table,

He didn't get up for a long time, and when he turned his head again, Father Petrov's forehead had been cut open, and blood seeped half of his face from the forehead. I knew it wasn't the Chechen man's fault, it was something I discussed with Papa Petrov, and he sharpened the edge of a button on the cuff very sharply. When he was pushed down, he secretly cut his forehead.

Blood is to those in Lubyanka prison what New Year's fireworks are to free people. It was simply a signal of carnival, the conflict erupted in an instant, the two groups rushed towards each other, shaking their fists, and the dinner plates flew everywhere. When the guards saw this kind of battle, they immediately sounded their sirens. According to the previous management, a team of heavily armed guards would rush in to control the situation.

Seryozha and Papa Petrov retreated into a corner, and Papa Petrov threw the button into the trash can, so no one else would notice it.

"Warning, everyone lie on the ground with their heads in their hands! Warning, everyone lie on the ground with their heads in their hands!" Accompanied by the voice from the radio. Armed guards rushed in within five minutes, baton-wielding, charging towards the scuffling crowd. Already sprawled on the ground, holding his head in his hands. Those who are disobedient will be beaten several times.

"Who is causing trouble?" A leader asked sternly.

"It's the two of them, Captain Andrei." Seryozha and Father Petrov were pulled out from the corner.

"I think you are living too comfortably. Put them in the confinement room, and don't let them out without my order." Some people looked at Seryozha and Father Petrov sympathetically.

They were handcuffed. Take it to the cell by the guards to get some personal items. Seryozha took a Bible and a pack of cigarettes, which were allowed in Lubyanka Prison. The guards just took the Bible and looked at it, but returned it to Seryozha without opening it. Probably not interested. Cigarettes are checked carefully. Seryozha and Father Petrov were searched carefully again. Papa Petrov took nothing.

Seryozha and Papa Petrov were taken to the confinement cell, Papa Petrov limping all the way. Although Seryozha was a little worried, he didn't ask any more questions.

They were locked into two adjacent confinement rooms. The iron doors of the confinement rooms were completely closed, unlike the doors of the prison cells, which were made of iron bars and could be seen outside. There was a small window in the door near the lock, which was used to bring food in at meals. It is as cold as an ice cellar in winter and as hot as a steamer in summer. Loneliness and isolation afflict those imprisoned here.

Seryozha was pushed into the confinement room, the small window was opened, and the guard motioned for Seryozha to stretch out his hand. Seryozha did so, his handcuffs were undone, and he rubbed his red wrist, which had been strangled. The little window was about to be closed when Seryozha pushed it open.

Just when the escorting guard was about to attack, a voice came from the iron gate.

"Sir, may I have a cigarette?" Seryozha asked respectfully.

The guard froze for a moment, then lit a cigarette for Seryozha. Probably he also felt that the confinement room was really difficult, and he felt a little sympathetic to Xie Liaosha.

"Enjoy it," said the guard.

Seryozh took a deep draw on his cigarette and smiled at him.

"Thank you sir."
