Chapter 248
"I signed Wannian in Shaolin ()"!
What is Longevity Tribulation?
Living in this world, life and death, is a big event!
Generally speaking, mortals do not want to die. When death really comes, everyone has the instinct to survive.
This is the first step of longevity calamity, "don't want to die".
In this catastrophe, human beings will often appeal to various external forces.
There are various methods of practice and prayer, such as seizing homes, rebirth, freezing, elixir, reincarnation, etc.
However, once the first step is difficult to break through. People can get the power of longevity and long-term vision, when they can be immortal for a hundred years, a thousand years, or even ten thousand years.
The real horror of longevity calamity is coming.
That is "the body is not destroyed but the heart is destroyed"!
As a person, there must be seven emotions and six desires.
But longevity means that one must abandon the seven emotions and six desires to a certain extent.
Because you can be lucky enough to live forever, but not everyone can be lucky enough to live forever.
Over a long period of time, the immortals will experience all kinds of pain.
I saw my friends and relatives die with my own eyes, I saw my orthodoxy slowly annihilated under the long river of time, I saw Wang Tu's hegemony from prosperity, to sinking, degeneration, and then to complete destruction.
Millennium is not needed.
I am afraid that after only a few hundred years, many people will be confused by the longevity robbery and lose their hearts!
Why is the life span of human beings so short, most of them will not exceed three hundred years?
One is the boundary limit.
Many amazingly talented people cannot break through to the realm of the primordial spirit throughout their lives. Even if one breaks through to the realm of Yuanshen, one cannot break through to the realm of Taiyi God.
But the second is this "Longevity Tribulation"!
After three hundred years, what haven't you seen?
Three hundred years old master,
When finally facing a breakthrough, there are quite a few people who will lose their minds because of the long years, thinking that they have seen through "life and death" and are not afraid of death.
Even if you break through and survive, it's meaningless!
Just look at Master Kongwen and you will know!
He is only a character from one or two hundred years ago. But now the disciples of Shaolin Temple all call him "Master Uncle".
In the same generation as him, except for the eldest son, how many other people are left?
The most terrifying thing about the Longevity Tribulation is this.
Some people are more likely to lose their minds if they rely on various methods to achieve short-term longevity by unscrupulous means.
Gradually, I forgot what I wanted to do in the first place, so that even if I survived in the end, I was no longer my original self!
Even at any time, it is quite normal for a sudden thought to feel that life is meaningless and commit suicide!
And in this case.
People came up with a way to survive this long-lived calamity.
That is the power to pursue the "Tao".
Most immortals often have a kind of obsession.
Pursue the ultimate of "Tao".
During this process, many denominations emerged. The big ones, such as Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Mohism.
The small one is practice. For example, the ultimate in kendo, the ultimate in tea ceremony, and the ultimate in ikebana.
Although comprehending these things does not mean that one can survive the calamity of longevity, one has to admit that having a belief really has a motivation to live!
But.
Su Cheng did not.
Not only did he not have it, but he felt more and more about the "Buddhism" he had comprehended and the "Buddha" family skills he had practiced.
There is a sense of trap!
He even began to have doubts.
"Does Buddha really exist... Buddha, maybe he doesn't exist. Shakyamuni has already passed away, how can Buddha exist?"
"Could it be that everything I have practiced and experienced is just a layout, a conspiracy?"
"If I continue to practice, in the end, will I only become the incarnation of a certain great supernatural power?"
The more Su Cheng thought about it, the more frightened she felt!
In the two thousand years of this world, most of the amazing and brilliant people who founded various sects and left behind various sayings or traditions either ascended or passed away.
As for the ascenders, there is often a saying. That is, the incarnation of a great supernatural power!
For example, Budai monk, the founder of Lingyin Temple, has a saying that he is the incarnation of Maitreya Buddha.
Jin Qiaojue, the founder of the Mahayana Daji Jizo Reincarnation Sutra, is also considered to be the incarnation of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva!
Then, if you say that you follow the path of Sakyamuni, you will reach the extreme, establish a sect, teach the Dharma, and save all sentient beings and leave Buddhism behind.
Will it, and will only become "the incarnation of Shakyamuni"?
Su Cheng's heart is a little messed up!
"No...it shouldn't be. Shakyamuni is a prince, and I'm not a prince or anything like that."
"And Sakyamuni was married before! He abandoned his wife and pursued the Dharma. He cut off the karma of the world of mortals, and his seven emotions and six desires..."
"Although I have experienced some similar deeds, that's all. How could I become Shakyamuni?"
"In the final analysis, I will not become a Buddha at all."
A large number of Buddhist scriptures appeared in Su Cheng's mind.
"Heart Sutra", "Langa Sutra", "Awakening Sutra", "Avatamsaka Sutra", "Pharmacist Sutra", "Diamond Sutra", "Infinite Life Sutra", "Amitabha Sutra"...
Countless words swirled in his mind, and finally, the golden words seemed to form an infinitely huge Buddha.
At the end, all of a sudden, the countless scriptures were shattered, and the Buddha was also turned into countless dust, and the clouds and smoke dissipated.
Su Cheng suddenly woke up. Looking back at the surroundings, the stupa was completely dark and very quiet.
The Blood Ancestor did not make another sound.
"Really, what am I thinking?"
Su Cheng suddenly felt relieved.
Indeed, judging from these nine seals, perhaps if one single-mindedly cultivates Buddhism, then the fate may indeed be like that of Sakyamuni.
However, in the final analysis, there is an essential difference between myself and Buddhas such as Sakyamuni.
That is, the "Buddha" that I understand is not the "Buddha" that the real Buddhists say.
Shakyamuni realized Buddha first and had the great wish to become a Buddha. Then he gave up his worldly power, reputation, and even cut off his ties to become a monk.
However, I practice first, and then go to enlighten Buddha from the direction of the realm.
To put it bluntly, it is "after reading Buddhist scriptures for so many years, I have read them into the stomach of a dog".
Su Cheng's understanding of Buddhism is very deep, and she can even understand by analogy, which can resolve other people's heart disasters.
But he himself did not believe it.
Since the emergence of the "nine seals", it indicates that he is likely to continue and will repeat the path of Sakyamuni.
And I don't like this road!
Then, things are very simple.
Just find a "Tao" that really suits you.
There are so many schools of Taoism in this world. Even if it is a Buddhist school, it is divided into eight major sects: Zen, Pure Land, Tantric, and Vinaya.
There are even more extralegal sects like Lingyin Temple and Lotus Sect.
What's more, the world is not only Buddha, but also Taoism, Mohism, Confucianism, Legalism, Yin and Yang, Ming, Soldiers and other schools of thought.
I don't believe you can't find a path that really suits you!
